Or if you don't celebrate, lose 30 pounds by December 25th.

I'm starting a weight loss club for people who wanna lose 30 pounds to look good around the holidays. It's a time of year when you're around family much more often, and see many people that only come around once a year. Wouldn't it be great to shock them this year with your new body?

We will have weekly weigh-ins to keep track of everyone's progress. And with everyone's support and encouragement in this group from their peers, we should all feel more motivated to reach our goals.

When joining this group, please post a little bit about yourself, your strengths, weaknesses and your expectations, so we can all get to know each other a little better.

WHO'S WITH ME?  :)

27 yrs old, 5'7. I enjoy working out heading to the gym everyday afterwork has been a great way to stay motivated & stress free. Has not been easy being a single mom of two. But If I can do it, anyone can. In 10 weeks I have lost 28 weeks, most of that was by joining CC (counting cal) & lots of cardio. I weight myself on Fridays soo I will be putting my #'s on Fridays. Good luck & lets stay together to stay motivated.

I'd love to join.  I just finished a 10 lb challenge and was 1.4 lbs above my goal weight, but I was on vacation 21 days of the 30 day challenge. I did really well for not being able to log in my calories and activities.  I'm 51, 5'6".  I am married and have a 14 year old son.  I've walk every day, and do aerobics 3x a week.  I joined CC June 1, 2008 and have lost 14 lbs so far.  I have found that the weight loss for me has been pretty easy.  Nice to meet everyone!

Thank you all for joining! No matter how much weight you wanna lose, you are welcome to join us. We will all motivate each other to reach our goals!  :)

I have read each and every one of your posts, and will continue to do so until we reach our goal. I will try to give as much advice as possible, but don't take everything I say as the empirical truth - everyone has different things that work for them and don't. I recently lost 20 pounds this spring, and unfortunately gained 15 back because my boyfriend came home for the summer and loves going out to eat every night.

My strengths are my knowledge and my environment. I know a lot about fitness, having read numerous resources for information and having a personal trainer for over a year. I live alone at the beach, so I have no one's schedule interfering with mine, I can run my errands as I see fit, and I am motivated to go for walks on the beach or along the bay at night.

My weaknesses are my insatiable appetite and inability to maintain motivation. Ever since I was younger, I've eaten about 2 - 3 times the normal-portioned meal. I've always been incredibly skinny; but heavier than most females due to a condition that causes my body to produce too much testosterone. My muscle density is greater than many, giving me a weight of 136 pounds at 5'6" and at a size 0 pants. I normally stay motivated for a while in the beginning due to the excitement of it, but start to lose interest once the excitement dies down. I'm hoping being part of a motivated group will help me keep up my excitement.

I am now 170 pounds and a size 8. My weight fluctuates daily depending on what I eat, being anywhere from 165 pounds to 170 pounds. I would like to get back down to 136, though I'm looking to tone up more as well. So my goal is not only to lose weight, but to build muscle tone.

Several people suggested Sunday as our weigh-in day. I am okay with that unless anyone objects.

You guys ready?  :)

I'm currently halted at about 158-160. I used to be 180 two years ago, but now I just can't get the weight off.

My goal is 115-120 by June 2009, but putting off 30 by the end of the year would be great! I'm with you! I'll be updating on Sunday!

current: 159.5 (8/21)
goal: 130 by Christmas.

Yes, I'm in. That's not an unrealistic goal- it's less than 2 lbs per week- but not an easy one either. I've lost my first 30 lbs and now I am only losing about a pound per week.

What are some things that everyone is doing to bump up weight loss (besides counting calories, of course- we're doing that already)? More exercise? more water? more fiber? green tea? eating mini meals? I've been doing all of the above!

Is there anyone here in their 40s? It gets harder as you get older, no joke.

Count me in. i am 33 yrs old SAHM of 3, and when do we start? currently i am so much in need of this. 30lbs by Christmas know that is a great goal.

I'm in. I'm currently 130 and I used to be 110 and would like to get back to that, so I don't have a full 30 pounds to lose but either way I would like to get back in my skinny jeans for the holidays! I'm 24 and working in an office. I used to be a lot more active in college but once I started sitting around for 8 hours a day I started putting the weight on. I'm going to try and stay away from desserts (I love baking) and go for a 45 minute walk every night. I hope it works.

I'd really like to try too...

I'm 18 years old, 5' 3" and... 188 lbs (just 3 lbs under my highest weight so far)

One of my problems is my family - and the meals that we eat. Mum's the one who cooks (lol, no real access to the kitchen for me) and she hates vegetables and most fruit. I also stay up late so even if I eat a late dinner - by the time I'm thinking about sleeping (I have insomnia, so that means around 2 or 3 am) I'm hungry again.

I also tend to feel hungry all the time when I'm in a bad mood or if I'm bored.

I either end up eating way to much - or way too little (anywhere between 5000 and 500 calories)

I'd really like to get back to 140 lbs - that's where I was 5 years ago

I'm hoping to lose around 20 pounds by Christma

Count me in! I'll be transferring from my all-girls college to a major co-ed college next year, so I want to lose as much weight as I can. 30 by Christmas would be excellent!

Cw - 191

Gw - 160

Let's all do this together~!

I really want to do this but I doubt myself. I'd like to lose about 15 lbs in 2 month if possible. but I need serious help.  :(  (look at my topic: http://www.calorie-count.com/forums/post/1120 37.html  )

Count me in! I'm steadily losing but not fast enough if you ask me. I need daily motivation to keep active.  As a real estate agent I find myself often at my computer and not taking the 10,000 steps a day that will keep me focused on my goal.

I've been lifting 5 pound weights, and other strength training excercises for 25-40 minutes mon-fri. On the weekends I work, so I don't do anything extra as I am walking my whole shift. I've been trying to drink more water, but I'm having a hard time withit, I usually forget...i just get so busy with the kids... I am also having a cup of fibre 1 a day, and started on Alli a couple of weeks ago.

hi Deloughy,  i am totally into your new club!  How do i get in?  i am 43, a fitness lover, a cake baker/decorator by trade(if you can believe that!), and LOVE this idea!  i"ve lost 17 pounds so far, but it is very slow...that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but i love a challenge, and it would be nice to do this! i would like to lose 18 more pounds....Sunday is my weigh in day, and i've noticed alot of others use the same day, so that sounds great!

    Hello, I'm totally in!

I don't exactly want to loose 30 lbs, but I want to loose around that.

    SW: 128lbs

    GW: 113lbs

I'm Jennifer 19 years old and 5'3, and was good with the new healthy lifestyle thing, was going really well until I fell off the wagon in the summer.  So I need to focus myself and get a group together now that I have a schedule back in my life. It's tougher the second time around! So, here I am hoping to loose a couple pounds before Christmas to amaze myself again.

I am sooo there!  Count me in!

    32 yo female 5'8"

SW: 242 (as of 7/16/08, 7 weeks after my daughter was born)

    CW: 225.6

    GW: 195 (by 12/25/08)

My ultimate goal is 165 by 5/28/08 (my daughter's first birthday!) so this challenge falls right in to where i want to be.  God bless to all!

weigh-in on sunday. bum, bum, bum. prepare yourself for the weekend lol!

i'm so glad everyone has joined, we can definitely do this if we keep up with eachother and make this a great discussion.

deloughy, are you going to close the group at any point, or will it stay open? it might be much easier to keep track of people if it is smaller, but i am not sure how you want to do things.

tracy, what kind of cakes do you make? this summer i learned how to do the whole fondant thing and i am so interested in it, but it never turns out right for me. hahah. i also love baking anything!

oh, and SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE AT UNI!!

I'd like to join!  I'm 47, and 178.  Goal is 35 lbs loss so this is a good start.  I really don't have  a hard time eating healthy as far as meals but snacking  (emotional eater) and beer are my obstacles.  I also don't exercise as much as I'd like.  I hope I can lose SOMETHING!!

I am with you!  I have been looking for something to motivate me to lose this weight once and for all! I just became a member of this site and I plan on spending a lot of time here. I used to track what I ate and my exercise on Slimfast.com, but their site when down and I went off track. I would like to lose 50lbs total. But I would defintely be happy with 30lbs for right now. Take it one step at a time.
