Lose 10 by Christmas -- starting now!
I have been within 10 lbs of my original goal of 150 for at least a month.
I got all the way down to 153, and then sodium and stress bumped it back to 159, 157 today.
I would like a group of motivational girls to buddy up with who exercise, try to eat right, to work with on a challange to get to goal!!!!
I run with my dog and ride an exercise bike -- every day. I was using a Bowflex religiously with fantastic results, but I broke up with my ex of 4+ years and it was his..... so any strength workout ideas would be helpful! I drink at least 100 oz of water every day at work, more at home. My ex sort of helped me into a drinking problem with his World Of Warcraft addiction, so I am trying not to drink much and just be social vs. what I was doing..... I have no friends (except at work) who were not OUR friends, so I am struggling a little with boredom eating and long nights and weekends with nothing to do.... I live in one small town and teach in another, so there's not much to do for young singles...
Anywho, hoping to find a kicking group of hot chicks to lose 10 lbs by Christmas..... JOIN ME!!! ( :
Reason: Moved from Motivation to Games & Challenges forum. 11/28/08 Edited title per request of OP
I have a VERY LONG LIST of good snacks I try to pull on............ & nbsp; I like your drink suggestion.... Carbonation slows me down for sure....
YAY for good bfs!!!! ( :
i weighed in at 141.0 this morning, oh man, i just went out with my friends and we ate so much..hopefully tomorrow will be the same number for me..
it's so nice to hear about ur stories! i hope i can have a nice BF who helps me too! =P
I would love to be hovering at 141. The grass is always greener........
Suggestion: list one thing that has gone well this week, something that you can work on, and long(ish) term goal that does not rely on a number.
1) I drank all my water, cooked most nights, and made it through my TTOM mostly without hurting anyone or myself
2) I will get back on my every day workouts. I slacked with the trip and then lack of sleep got to me. Exercise is the part of this whole journey I KNOW I have licked. When I do the workouts, everything else is easier.
3) I went thrift shopping with a friend yesterday and got all kinds of cute winter things (including a cute red and black coat). I also saw several prom dresses that were SMALL and would fit me AND were cute. $20 is a good deal. I promise myself to go to prom this year in something that FITS and makes me feel hot. Hot has nothing to do with a number. ( ;
hope your days are good, and the journey is easy today! ( :
I would love to hear everyone's list as above.
Hey guys,
Things that went good for me:
I exercised 5 days, mon-thursday I counted calories and had about a 700 defecit, I ate lots and lots of veggies, didn't eat out once!
Things to work on:
weekends!! I always lose track and end up feeling like a cow on Monday. This weekend I thought I did okay even though I didn't kep track of everything I ate. It's like a never ending cycle and every Monday I'm back to square 1. I guess we'll see on wed.
things i did well--i eat a lot more heathfully now than i did 4 years aog--before i would eat all junk, now everythign i eat is healthy and i dont want anything unhealthy at all (pizza, wings, fried stuff)
things i need to work on---PORTION CONTROL! god i just dont know when to stop!
also i think i hit a plateau now--141.4 lb again today, sigh!
how do i break something like that? help!
good lists, ladies.......but no one said something they wanted lopng term that was not a number! =P
great job, michl! I hear you on weekends.... . all my cc girls disappear then and I am left to my own devices = bad.
a plateau, eh, Sandy? um...... lots of water, fiber and veggies/fruit, enough protein. CHange up your workout routine. Try not to eat after a certain set point at night ---- I had a cc friend challenge me on that one and I lost 4 lbs in a week. who knew? Add a vitamin..... really track cals and intake (if you do not already) and really analyze for things to change..... . that "just one bite" adds up if I do not log it...... I also found when I stopped drinking, I lost weight easier for a multitude of reasons.
How is everyone?
Query too: since Turkey Day is so close, would you hate if I change the title to reflect further goals (like spring break) after we hit Thanksgiving? I like you all.....
I was thinking about that, that is a fantastic idea. I've really gotten motivation from this group so I would like it to remain around.
1) I have significantly decreased (if I even DO drink) the amount of alcohol I drink on weekday or weekend.
2) I will work on getting back to working out consistently. (I went 3-4 days without working out this week)
3) I will work on my patience that weight will eventually come off and determination to keep eating well and exercising.
What about something closer- New Years? That will personally keep me focused, but I am down for anything
1) Like annulyju said, I have decreased alcohol, I am more aware of what I am eating and am less quick to jump to go get something rather than cook
2)work on balancing my diet more (more protein please!) and work harder at my workouts
3) Confidence- I decided that this is my year to spew confidence all over the place- I will like me!
Edit to add to # 3- find an event- half marathon, century or something to complete before this time next year
good list, bella -- I especially LOVE your #3. I will probably steal that line.
OH -- and I am fine with lose 10 by New years.... I have another post I started called lose 5*% by New Year's oddly,..... anywho, I am fine with whatever the group says. ( :
i think new year would be a great time for us to lose those 10 lbs =)!
I think it's a great idea to stretch out the goal, that will keep us all motivated. I am going to keep my personal goal of losing 15 lbs by Christmas (I've now lost 4lbs all together so 11 to go).
I just want to report my good news. Today's wed. so I stepped on the scale. 2 lbs down from last week!!! I am sooo excited because I thought I blew it all over the weekend. I made sure to exercise though and I did really well during the week. This weekend I am going to try even harder to eat right. Since I'm really poor that will help on the going out to eat factor. One thing I do on the weekends as a treat is pop light popcorn. It's a great salty, semi lo cal treat that I can indulge in and not feel guilty. What lo cal treats do you guys eat on the weekend?
hi guys,
so today's wednesday, i weighed myself--140.2lb today, 1.2 lbs down from last week!
wow i'm so happy! =)
thanks for all the advice, and good job michelle=)
my goal will be to reach 130 lbs by new year, this will be my new year's gift to myself. =)
i have a question--my college and teachers and classes are having a lot of holiday celebrations now, usually we all get invited and the food is just cookie chocolate and everything unhealthy. i dont want to turn down invitation, but what should i do?
also, my friends tend to eat dinner very late and unhealthfully. i have been not going to dinner with them ever since school started. im quite involved in extracurricular activities in school and i do hangout with my friends in other manners (project groups, tv, games, etc)
do you think its important that i eat with them? (im sure if i do, i will eat more unhealthfully than i already do now) =((((
also, janay, you mentioned not eating after a certain point at night?
sounds awesome. what was the time you used?
thanks!
my cut off was 8PM..... ( :
congrats on the losses, ladies!!!!
Syzhu ---- I say go gto the parties and stuff, but take something healthy with you. Fruit salad, veggie tray, low cal dip and pita chips or rice cakes....... Enjoy yourself and maybe change some people's mind about yummy and Good for you.
echo (echo) (echo)
where'd everyone go?? ( :
it has been quiet on all threads :(... I can't say I have contributed much- been busy...
Last weigh in still the same- 150.2 although I feel fluffy today- no good reason either... guess I should chug some more water and maybe induldge in tea. My goal is (and I'm going to have to work SUPER hard these next few days, esp mentally) to get under 150 by thanksgiving.... even if it is 149.9 :)
How is everyone?
hi bella:
my goal is to hit under 130 lbs by december 31, 2008.
my weight today was 139.8, finally in the 13X range!
but im so scared that i will bounce back
to be honest, college life is adding a lot of stress to my life =(((
1) i want to eat healthfully, but everything social revolves around cookies, cakes, and pizza, this is stupid--i dont have the ability to resist temptations now, im not mature enough. id rather eat healthy than going there
2)some of the ppl i live with are really rich and inconsiderate (not that all rich ppl are inconsiderate but)--one of them said "im so happy i went to private school and now that im in ______college (insert ivy league) i dont ever have to deal with the lesser ppl", and she is the person who threw her own used sanitary pad outside in the common room (cuz the garbage can in the washroom is full and its her duty to empty it, she just wont do it). the other rich kid hooked up with random guys in our common room sofa bed, every weekend we wake up to a differen guy, damn it @@....and these 2 rich and "higher class"kids are the ones who never do their share of suite duty......... sigh........
sorry for the rant @@
i just wish everyone in my college is like u guys--mature, helpful and eat healthfully...@@
my goal too, bella!!!!!!!!!!! ( :
I wish life was easier for you, syshu --- that sort of sucks big time. I bet when you are done with school, you will look back and know what jerks everyone was and how much better you are having known them and NOT been like them. ( : CHin up, sister!
