100+pounds to lose club.....

Quote  |  Reply
okay, I was thinking.....when you get to where you officially have less than 100+ to lose, will you still come to this 100+ post?

Just curious.....I really want to keep posts going for this group.  I think we (definitely me) need extra support, so, if we can stay on the first page, it will be beneficial to all of us, and any newbie joining.

I know I will continue to come to 100+ posts.  This group has been awesome for my first week!  (7.5 pounds gone!!!)

i've been under 100 to lose for a few months now.. and i still come an post to these threads.. so i hope we don't get kicked out when that happens!  :)

if i'm not supposed to post here let me know..  i just assumed i'm part of the group.. :)
I'm 27lbs down from my starting weight of 340 and I love ALL of the 100+ pounds club. Will will continue to come here to also tell my story and myabe help others out who need it, because take a look at  Lady Obsidyan..She did it and we can do it too! Love erveyone here!
I'm below that now and I still come here.  The journey to weight loss is long when you started off with 100 plus pounds to lose, so the support is still wonderful, and celebrating the positives along the way is fun too.

Today I even noticed that I fit better between the pews while walking to communion at church.  : )

obsidyan.....from everything i've read....you are a huge asset to this group!  My first day here I read your stuff!  Please don't go anywhere! as divine sunshine said.....you are our example!

I really meant it as a motivator....as in....when we all get less than 100 pounds.....(i have 13.5 to go for that!)

divinesunshine--congrats on the 27 pounds!!  woohoo!!

twindaze-congrats on the pew situation! Everything like that is such a success!!!!!!

This morning, I wore a pantsuit to church that I have NEVER like the shell that goes with it, so the jacket is always in the perfect position to cover everything...all bumps and lumps.  Well, today, it looked a little better, which makes me feel better.  So, I give off a better disposition.  Amazing.
Hello, I am new to the chat part of this site....I have 100+ to lose, so thought I would drop in.
hi dot...welcome!  keep on coming back to this site, look for 100+ to lose and join in!  It has been so much easier for me with this support!  Good luck!
hey.. i'm not going away from the site.. but i just wondered (and this wasn't the first time i've wondered this) if, because i've only got 74 pounds more to lose (hahahah only.. hahahahah  *wipes away the laughter tear*) if i still belong in this group of people.  :)
As someone who definitely has 100 plus to lose, I say "of course you still belong here Odsidyan". You had 100 + to lose and have successfully lost a large portion of that - that doesn't take away from the fact that you did have 100 plus to lose and hence, you understand what we all are going through. Your advice and inspiration is definitely an asset to this group. Even after we all lose all that is needed, after attaining ideal weights, we are all still members of the 100 plus club(whether it is 100+ to lose or 100+ lost).
I haven't been here all that long but from what i've read this group is for anyone that feels they fit into it. Some have joined and were a little under a 100+ to lose and they were welcomed.

Based on that and my opinion, if you were ever part of this club you will always be part of it. We are here to be friends and support for each other and I for one don't leave my friends just because they lose a little weight.

My understanding of this group is that people that have more to lose have a totally different perspective than those that only need to lose 10-20 pounds. Just because you've lost that weight doesn't mean you forgot what it was like.

Besides seeing others reach their goals is a huge motivation for the rest of us. If you drop out of the group we will never know when you hit your goal weight.

That is my opinion, though I've not been a member very long.
i am not sure if i am in this club or not yet, i was 300 and i thinki want to lose a hundred but i think that i might not be a healthy 200 lb guy. so how do i know other that the bmi charts which i don't think are accurate
Dodgeman, have you put in your information on this site? When I did that it gave me a weight that it calculated would be good for me.

It depends on your height and bone structure.  The BMI calculators on the web I'm not sure are pretty accurate because of the many other factors than they consider. However, Hubbaji has a link to a site that can be used to calculate your percentage of body fat that seems a lot more accurate.

hey hub....i love that 100+ whether it's to lose...or it's lost!

spotsknight....welcome! as you can see, all it takes is reading the post to join in this group! it's a great support system!

i just weighed for official week 1....8 pounds!  wow! i'm excited!

jules, all tunnels come to an end!  make sure you look for all successes, not only on the scale!  remember the feeling every success.  hang in there! don't think of 100 pounds from now...just today.

keep us posted!
Coming in late to the debate...

I love that it's 100+ lbs to lose whether you started out by saying "I need to lose 100 lbs" and have now lost a portion or most of those 100lbs, or you still have 100+ lbs to lose.

I think it's great to have a community of people who can talk about the different challenges faced by people who need to shed a LOT of weight.  Therefore people who have lost 100lbs are still wonderful assets to the community because they A) still remember the journey and B)are living proof that it CAN be done.

I'll still be coming back to the group as I lose more and more because it's now a commuinty of people that we celebrate all our little victories with.  :)

Congrats on the 8lbs, Itsmytime!
I have a feeling that when I lose 100 lbs. I'll still be in the 100 Lbs. To Lose Club. I'm a lifer. Hardcore.
thanks beanie---great post!  I agree, this is a great community!  Because I don't want people I "know" to realize that I have 100 pounds to lose (yes, I know, as if they don't know....but hey that's another issue) I feel sooooo comfortable to be able to disclose ALL of me in here!  And that has never happened to me before.

Well, that is the first step to success!
Scary how it's easier to admit a lot of private things, including eating habits and one's real weight and how much you want to lose, to a bunch of strangers rather than to people you know!  But, we're all in this boat together.  :)
i just told my husband this past summer my real weight.  i trust him with absolutely everything...but it was sooooo hard to admit.  of course, the bad thing is that from that time to the day i found cc, i gained 10 pounds!  so, when i talk about my weight loss, he is thinking old numbers....and i havent' even gotten to the weight he and i talked about.....but i am only 1.5 pounds away!  (i did tell him i had gained 10 pounds...and he can add....lol)  but after so many years of me not discussing my weight, he was probably afraid to say anything.
It's always dangerous for men to comment on a woman's weight.  Especially when they're in a relationship, as they can generally get burned no matter what they say.  :)
I guess this is the place for me too...I originally needed to lose 110...I have 94 pounds to go. I'm curious...did everyone drop a lot of weight early on and then find it hard to keep losing? I feel like my body is adjusting to my caloric intake and isn't shedding pounds as well....it's almost as if I have some fussy, well meaning safety officer in my body who does his best to stock up on fat in case there is a big famine. You know what I mean? I sometimes feel like my body will not LET me lose much weight. Looking at my family gives me no encouragement either...my father's side is very heavy, and so is my Mom's side, except for her mother. I'm so scared that it might be impossible for me and that I'm getting my hopes up for nothing.
