im already in another weightloss challange...........but would love to join this one after the other one is over. BTW why did you have to start another thread of this. They dont post all the ppl that tried to join or what? that seems silly.

angie
I have 43lbs to lose can i still join?

I'm up for a challenge
jd, thanks for taking the initative. I'm definately still in.
i have between 30-40 to lose depending on what looks right on my 5'6 frame at 175 currently....am i able to join?
I would love to join - I have 40 pounds (more) to lose.  I have already lost a whopping 8 which I am truly excited about, so I would love to keep motivated and encourage someone along the way if possible.  My work/home life is a little hectic, but I will post and reply (albeit may be at odd hours of the day/night).

I also have at least 40 lbs to lose. I would like to join.  I have to post daily to stay motivated and have others  to help. Do you all  exercise? good luck to each of you who just joined.
i have around 43 pounds to lose can I join too?  I've lost right at 20 pounds (on a good day here lately, I've plateaued I think) since March 8th.  It is driving me nuts and I could use all of the motivation I can get.  :-)
my original goal was 45 pounds, and i've lost 9 already. so 36 more. can i still join? the water thing is a great idea, i've definitely been taking in more water since i started my lifestyle change - around 3L a day!

OK...I am in...I need to lose 35-40.  Currently at 180 and am 5'9" after a starting weight of 240 about 2 years ago have hit a major STALL.....so I need to do something!
Just because I saw this on another post - and decided to share some because it might help with advice on how to get where i need to go!

Starting Weight was:  190lbs (i am now down to 182)
My Height is:  5'5"
My age is:  32
My activity level is:  Just returning to active after a broken femur and phys. therapy.
My Calorie Expenditure is:  1600
My goal weight is:  140
My goal date is:  eventually (I am going on a cruise at the end of September and would love to be in better shape by then)
My current weight:  182

So after an injury, getting back to just normal activity has been trying, but I am finally getting back in the swing of things.
Hi, I'm 15 and I have about 40 lbs to lose. Here are my stats..........

Height: 5'7 or 5'8

Starting weight: 162

Current weight: 158

1st Goal weight: 130 by September 1

2nd Goal weight:120 By October 31

Final Goal weight is not yet decided.

I work in an office, so I don't have a chance to get much exercise.

I have a very small bone frame.

All the women in my family are overweight, and I don't want to have to fight this battle for the rest of my life
I'm so happy to see so many replies!! I really hope that everyone will reach their goals, and I know we will if we stick to it and support one another!

Today didn't go so well for me. I am sure that I came way over my calories for the day. Long story short...cookies at work. I did however eat a nice salad for dinner. I guess that's the key is to just pick up where you left off and act like it never happened....just as long as it doesn't become a daily habit to slip up!

How are you all doing on your water? I'm fixing to down another glass..I have about 3 more glasses to go before bed.
Now are we doing 8 8oz standard glasses?  I think i do more than that daily now, because i have anywhere from 5-7 bottled waters per day.  My inner environmentalist hates this - but it is the one sure way i know i will drink enough - i just count the bottles i toss!
Hello, I would really like to join this group!  It's nice to know others who have the same goal!  I gave birth to my daughter 8 months ago, and my highest weight from this was 235 (blah!).  I am now 167lbs (yay!!), and have a goal weight of 127.

Height: 5'5

Starting weight: 235 (blah!)

Current weight: 167 (yay!)

1st Goal weight: 155 by Aug 15th
2nd Goal weight:135 by October 1st

last goal weight: 127 by Jan 1st '08.

I don't know about you all, but my biggest problem is consistancy with my eating habits.  5 days out of the week I'll eat great, then Sat and Sun come along and... well yah!

Good luck to everyone :)
Jdbeckers:  people who bring cookies at work are bad bad people!!  ;)  I have a co-worker who has a HUGE stash of M&M's... she loves to share.  It's horrible!  Hang in there!

Diorbaby:  It can be hard to find a way to exercise when you work in an offifce.  Do you have time to go to a gym?

Divaangelic2:  I'm glad you are healing well!  That must have been tough!  :)
crazineko,

I have struggled with this as well - i have found the biggest way to curb this habit is planning!  I shop for healthy stuff that I can eat (and I have teenagers in the house who will eat ANYTHING so I mark it as MINE!).  On those weekends where I know I have plans (dinner out, or with this weekend - a wedding) I make arrangements for what I know is my tendency.  For example - I love cake - and I was at a wedding.  Can you say champagne wedding cake?!!! YUM-O.  I knew there was no way I was not going to have the cake so I ate sensibly during the day - I had a very light breakfast and snack, a small salad for lunch, and a granola bar right before we left for the reception.  At the reception I didn't eat the bread/butter (during any other dinner out, I splurge on one piece of bread/butter because bread is a weakness) and I ate all my veggies and steak, and didn't touch the potato.  That way I could enjoy the cake guilt free!  So I say all that to say - know who you are and plan around what you know about you.

hope this helps! :)

And yes the road to recovery was tough, but I am thankful day by day by day!
Hi everyone,

I just found this site today and I'm so glad I did. Today is the first official day of my "diet". I'm amazed at how much I can actually eat before I reach 1200 calories (when I make the right food choices that is). The Food Log is so helpful. I'm 5'8 and I weigh 177 lbs. My goal weight is 140 so I have about 37 lbs. to lose. I had a baby 4 1/2 months ago so it should be interesting trying to fit exercise in with 2 children under the age of 5. But I'm determined to figure out a way. I would really like to be a part of this group. I need all the support I can get.

* I've had 8 glasses of water today if you count the cup of tea I had. I feel like I've been running to the bathroom all day. Hopefully my bladder builds up a tolerance.
Hello,

I am struggling to loose weight since quite some time now. I am 5'2 was around 136 pounds last year but had a rocky period and am on 150 pounds. I have a small frame and a lot of padding that needs to go. I am taking up swimming starting from this week have tried a lot of activities (elliptical, treadmill, step class, yoga) but except for increase in stamina I dont see any such weight loss. Being a hypo its tough already. I am ready for the challenge 8 glasses of water, ok 7 more to go for the day (does tea count?)
Count me in on this, I have been trying to diet on my own without much success.  I can't control myself when it comes to food.

I am 5'6" female, 167lbs and would love to loose 40lbs.  I really like the goals set by crazeneko #14, and diorbaby #11.  I think that I may borrow that:

155lbs by August 15th

135lbs by October 1st.

So is the only thing for the diet we have to do this week is drink 8, 8oz glasses of water?  As far as water bottles, I have a 1 liter water bottle that I refill at the water cooler here at the office, then I don't throw away so much.  But so far today I am almost done with my first liter (not including tea or coffee) and I am visiting the restroom quite a bit.  Thanks for the advice and I will keep in touch.

Chris
wow, great to see so many people! I was doing reasonably well until I went out for drinks with a friend who is only in town for the week. 2 (200ml) glasses of wine and half a salad with cream sauce, olives and feta later, I'm probably only just below maintenence cals. (germans serve huge glasses of wine)

But i did make it for the water with no problem. I have actually been upping the water for the last 2 months since I joined CC and I have found that actually I am now going to the bathroom less often than i was before I started! (although there was awhile at the begining where i was going more) so don't give up!!!

hope you all have a good rest of the day!!!
