Where do you lose fat from first?

Hey,

Just curious, where do you guys tend to lose fat from first. That is, if your someone who has put on weight, taken off weight, put on weight, yadda yadda. I always notice that I lose fat from my wrists first. Kind of sucks. I wish it was my face or somewhere that actually needs it! Whenever I first start my weight loss I get ethiopian-like wrists. Haha.

I lost from my stomach and back first.  In a really weird and dramatic way too.  I have only lost 6 lbs so far (been that way for 2 weeks too!) but I lost about 8 inches around my rib cage area.  My shirts were tight enough to pull the buttons.  But now they are loose with lots of room.  What's up with that?

I am still in the same pants - same measurements there.  But I really wish my hips would get on with it.  I need new pants but I refuse to buy the same size again! 

 

I guess I'm a lucky one. I only ever lose and gain from my stomach. And pecks. haha. But lately I've noticed some loss in my thighs so I'm happy about that.

this has always been the most frustrating part of weight loss for me. the biggest part of my body is always my belly. whatever size i wear for example when i was a size 20 at my heaviest really i should have been wearing a size 22 because my stomach was so big it was bulging out of my pants. the reason it's frustrating is that if i wear a larger size it fits my stomach area but its baggy everywhere else. having said that the last place i lose the weight is my belly. i believe i lose it in my face and chest and legs the fastest. But my belly i can't tell u how frustrating it is to look at my body and love my curves now and like an outfit im wearing except for the stomach area. But i know eventually the fat in that area will go away. april 7, 2009 will be my one year weight loss anniversary and so far i have lost forty pounds but more importantly i have gone down from a size 20/22 to a size 14. my goal by the time april 7th rolls around is to be a size 12. i don't know what weight that will be and i really don't care. I do a mix of cardio and strength training so i know going down in size is more important for me than the number on the scale. now i know that even at a size 12, while i will be smaller i will still have a big belly. so i will continue the weight loss until i am comfortable about the size of my abs. i am not trying to have a six pack(i don't know if i'll ever have that), but i need to lose that enormous amount of fat that has been hanging off it it for most of my life.

The first place I lose weight from is my stomach and sides, exactly where I don't need to lose weight, as I have almost zero fat in that area; I wish spot reduction was possible, because I'd be aiming to lose it in that pesky rear-and-thigh area where I actually need it.

I lose from my thighs and waist first... wish it was my tummy and arms though... losing from my lower tummy would let me buy smaller sizes... would be lovely.

I haven't lost much noticeably yet but a couple of my bra's are getting a little big :( I don't mind losing there but I hope I don't end up flat chested, my hips are too wide for that!

My day lost weight from his wrists too! I don't think I have too much wristfat to lose though :P

my boobs definitely go first...which SUCKS...but i see it as a sign that i AM losing weight and to KEEP GOING to loose form other areas! Dont focus on WHERE< but that you ARE...KEEP GOING!

My face, stomach and arms usually go first. Whether If I've gained 10 pounds or only 2 pounds, I see clear differences there. It's a bit weird, but when I've lost said pounds, my middle and my arms look almost instantly toned somehow, whether or not I've been doing a lot of exercise to accomplish it.

Of course, these parts look far more solid and toned when i have actually killed myself at the gym for it. Almost there again, I can tell because my shoulders and under the arms are downright cut at this point.

Toned armpits are sexy, yeah?

I've got fat all over, but mostly in the "hot" spots...

Stomach, upper thighs, upper arms, face. 

Still, I'd say 90% of my weight is in my gut... So I seem to be losing there, mostly. That's great, on a level, but when I'm on track, it means I'm buying new jeans every 4 months! And strangely, even though my stomach is the "biggest" bit of me, I'd rather lose a bit from my arms and face, first... I don't know why. Maybe because my current dream is to be able to wear some sleeveless stuff out in public. (Maybe next summer!!)  

Few of us are ever 100% content with whatever lot we're given. But so long as the fat is leaving, I guess I don't really care where it's leaving from... So long as it stays gone!! 

I already don't show my weight much at all. (I'm about 162 and a size 7-9).  When I lose weight, it comes straight from my butt first, haha.  I wish it would come from my midsection, haha!

 

Weird, but I noticed my arms and wrists first!!

I seem to be losing weight around the front of my ribs, waist and thighs. It's really making me look more curvy...

The bust and butt.  Which I perfer, heh.

My stomach diesn't leave easily and I have virtually no waist so it's hard to judge- Im very much a column.

I lose from my lower body, butt and legs first, then arms....it's slowly coming off my stomach and chestWink  15 more pounds to go!!

Face and boobs for sure!  The most stubborn was always my thighs but now it's my tummy.  My thighs have miraculously shrunk due to strength training with Wii.  It shocked the heck out of me how much that made my thighs firm and shrink.  They were 24" and now are a little over 21".  Woo Hoo!  However, my stomach/belly looks like it's hardly lost any of it's bulk. Cry

You're losing fat from your wrists, forearms (and ankles, calves) first because the body tends to use stored fat at the extremeties first in attempt to keep the core protected and warm.  We had to make it through the ice age somehow.  The last fat to go is around the torso and hips.  The good thing is that your face should follow soon to a degree. just keep up the program and it'll keep falling off. 

My boobs, which is kind of ok this time because they had reached matronly proportions. Also losing from my thighs this time because I'm cycling everywhere - woo hoo. My belly seems to have a mind of its own Yell

Anyone else lose face fat last??

 

This is one thing that drives me bonkers -- my face always makes me look like I'm 50 lbs heavier than I actually am!  I have to drop down to 15% body fat before my face looks normal :(

I lose from my face, boobs, and stomach first.  My hips/thigh area are last.   Doesn't bother me....I have an hourglass figure!
