100+ pounds to lose...
Hey Everyone,
New on the site, not new to wearing big women's clothes! Hahaha. I would like to ultimately lose 120 pounds and get down to about 180 pounds (the last time I looked good and felt good).
I have seen a few groups on here geared toward a specific amount of weight loss. I tried to do a search, didn't see anything for us people looking to lose 100 pounds (or more).
If there isn't one, anyone in the same boat as me, looking to lose 100+ pounds? Would you like to start a group with weekly check ins? If there is one, could anyone send me a link to the topic?
Healthy Eats!

El - I'm new to the site as well, but certainly not new to weight loss attempts. I've lost 20 pounds over the last year (not setting any land speed records!) and have an additional 80 pounds to lose. I'm trying to do it through healthy eating and exercise. I'd love to check in with someone working through some of the same issues. It can be hard for me to relate to someone trying to lose "that 10 pounds around my middle" when my mountain seems so much harder to scale (pun intended!)
I'm not certain how to set up a link - I'll leave that to those less technically challenged than I am!
Happy New Year!
Ann
Ann,
Very cool! You're a weight loss buddy and totally can understand the challenge I face. I just signed up for another post that is for people looking to lose 40 pounds or more...I think a 100 pound or more topic is also worthwhile! My guess would be there will be some unique challenges for people looking to lose an even more significant amount of weight---we're all challenged whether it be 5 pounds or 150, but I think it would help me to also talk to people in the same shoes as me (and maybe the same clothing size! hahaha).

Just a quick, "You can do it". I started out with 136 pounds to lose to reach my "acceptable" goal... I'm 106 pounds lighter and feel 1000 times better.
I've got 30 pounds to go... maybe, the closer I get the more I think I'll go for another 20 or 30 after that. Slow and steady is the way to go.
Lisa
Hey Lisa,
Wow! Thank you for the motivation. I was wondering how long it took you to lose it and what you started doing differently.
Can I add you as a friend?
:-)

I'm close...my goal is to lose 80 pounds (to be 185 again).
I have a hard time feeling sympathy for these people who are upset because they're 3 pounds overweight.
Hahaha I hear ya on that one OffRamp!
I guess for some people 3 pounds is as big a deal as 40 pounds is for someone else if they are used to being superskinny and just feel completely out of their comfort zone. For me, 3 pounds is just a chip off of the bigger picture, so it's hard for me to see it as an ultimate goal! Hahaha
To be honest, I wouldn't notice a 3 pound difference in my weight.
In fact, I didn't realize how big I'd gotten until the jeans that least year fell off without a belt were tight on me.
Hey all-
I am Brett and have about 130 to lose. So I know what you are all going through. A couple years back, I lost 85 pounds only to gain it all back. So I'm back on the journey to look and feel good about myself again. This time I have this site and the support of everyone on here. That is a huuuuuuge difference.
I am currently on vacation and trying soooo hard not to overdo it. So I am checking in here every night to get some extra motivation to lay off all the delicious food downstairs.
Let's get to our goals and feel good about ourselves. We all deserve it.

Hi everyone - I've been here about 2+ months, and there is another thread, which I just posted on, "100+ lbs to go..." so it's bumped back up to the top.
Join the thread over there if you wish!
Good luck to everyone! cc is a great place!
Hi all! I'm pretty new to the site too. I just started here too and I've got about 100-120 to lose...depending on how I feel when I get to that weight. I'm in a couple of "challenges" but none specifically geared toward people needing to lose more weight. I think that's what I need. So let us know when check-ins are! Let's all do this together!

Hi all. I'm new to the site - not new to trying to lose weight. I love the CC site. It's really helping. I managed not to gain over x-mas. I'm currenltly 249lbs and never been thin. I'm 39 and the health issues are starting. I'd love to be 150 one day. My current goal is 10%, about 25 lbs. Let's check in every week! I also just joined a gym. Maybe we could check in about how we're doing trying to be more physically active. That's a huge challenge for me
It took me about a year to lose the first hundred. I took a semi-break for about 6 weeks (I was traveling a LOT - 3-4 days each week) where I maintained and I'm now back on my plan.
I follow a diabetic meal plan - nothing is forbidden but I balance my meals to have adequate protein, fat, and carbs. I also work out in the pool at least 5 days a week.

I'm not new to the site but i'm back on the wagon after a semester of regaining the 15 lbs. i lost last summer :( I weighed in last week at 250 and got really really scared! I have also been getting pain in my hips and know that I'm too young for that to be happening to me already (i'm 22) so i decided it was time to really get serious.
My initial goal is to get to back to a size 16 (i'm a 20/22 right now) eventually to lose 100 pounds. once i get back down to 150 i'll see how much further i need to go to feel my best.
Good news! I weighed in this morning at 247.9 so i've lost 2.1 lbs (not huge but it's in the right direction!)
OK Everyone,
So glad I have found other people on here just like me!!! I have seen other weight loss websites and people are looking to lose 10 pounds---that just isn't going to cut it for me! Hahahah
I'm not sure how many of us already belong to a thread that has us check in each week with weight. I would love to start a 100+ to go with a Monday weigh in (that way everything from the weekend is part of it). Maybe we could also post info about what worked well for us for the week (whether it be something motivational, a great snack or a great exercise)...or things that didn't work so well for us! Hahaha.
What do you think?
:-)
El
El - that sounds fantastic! I'm not sure about the new rules...will it be considered a "challenge?" If so, you may have to start a new thread in the "games and challenges" forum. Thanks for starting this. It is nice to see I'm not alone!!

I have close to 90 lbs I have to lose...but 100 would be amazing. I am overwhelmed with this...but I'd like to join in, too. I can't believe I have gotten this big. I don't realize how I look until I see a picture and I hate it! Count me in!
