I've heard for years the MYTH that the first place you'll lose weight is in the bust. My friends complained of it often and soon quit weight loss and workout plans to sit on their butts in favor of a full bosom, leaving me alone and bored on the treadmill in the gym. Being somewhat fond of my build, I worried a little bit about this when I began working out and eating better, but 7 pounds later, that part is all the same. Ideally, I would like to have begun losing squishiness from my hips and lower abdomen since that's where I most recently put on weight. But, judging from the fit of my pants, it just seems to be falling off my butt, which makes sense because walking is my favorite workout. It's not ideal, but it's not too bad either because I like the look of more toned legs.
What about you; where do you lose it?
Well, you can't spot burn, so walking isn't what is causing your pants to fall off, but your sweaters to stay snug - it's just what your body does.
But to answer your question - I lose kinda evenly top and bottom (though my face was the last to get plumper from weight gain, and the first part to slim down). Last time I was this weight (only a few years ago, and I'm in my late 20's), my boobs were smaller - I guess once I gained there, it stayed. Thighs/hips will probably be the last to go for me, and I'll always have a little pooch - but women are supposed to, so that's ok.
well nowhere yet, but I'm hoping it will mostly come off my hips and thighs. Although I'm sure that'll probably be the last place I lose it from. I'm a pretty extreme pear and I've had big legs my whole life so yeah they'll probably go last.
Face first, then arms, then stomach, then eventually it will start to come off my hips and thighs... but I still have a big fat lower half even when I was 110 lbs and skinny as hell.
People talk about losing weight and your thighs not rubbing together anymore... no matter how skinny or in shape I was, I've never experienced that, LOL.
I always lose in the ribcage first, right under my bust. I don't know why, but I always know when I've lost a pound or two because I have to use the next bra hook (and vice versa if I gain weight).
eh, double post.
Frickin' fingers and toes, and then my stomach, and then my arms and thighs, and then some more off my stomach. But for the longest time, it was only in my damned toes.
boobs!! always boobs..So I go from a C to a B!! I hate it!!!!!
I loose on my stomach, because that's where I gain first! I also noticed my boobs are smaller, lol. And definatley my thighs.
Face, boobs, fingers.
:) I'm glad for all those shrinking parts lol
~H~
Yeah I lost a cup size. I am sad but its ok because I lost a lot from my hips and stomach too. I have never been too amazingly large chested anyways. haha
I do wish I could put the lost weight there though.....haha ;)
I am a pear shape - when I gain, it all goes to my butt and thighs to the point my thighs are the widest part of my body! I've recently discovered that running is a huge help and I feel like I finally have my legs under control. My upper body has always been skinny as a rail, even with humongo thighs.
Being the pear I am. I always lose my gut first.. I can always tell. I'm glad it's gone, because I kinda get sick of people asking me when was I due..
Next one is my boobs.. I really hate that.. I go from... (O-O) oooooH
to (0-0) hang low.. It's like the perk goes, and the hey like a drunk pops in for a while...
Next to go my butt always slow, My Full moon starts to work on a half moon.. Still not half a moon yet...
Next to go.. My saddle bags empty out, not so full..
That's how I lose.. A little here, and a little there.
Please don't hate it -- or any other part of you.
There is no standard of beauty, regardless of what the media tells us. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, and every person has different eyes.
I am -ahem- fully endowed, and a friend moaned her lack of my wealth. Her husband, without looking up from his computer, said "All you need is a mouthful, Love."
So there!
The only perk for me being fat was I did have boobs!! So I can sorta relate to your firends, I did lose weight in the boobs and face first. I also wear smaller shoes and my wedding ring has been resized 2 times now. I'm still trying to lose it from my hips, thighs and knees -- yes I have gross fat bulging knees that gross me out. I don't dare wear shorts even living in AZ!! Finding jeans is a challenge. I wear size 10's but the waist is loose and the hips and thighs are tight so I have to get the stretchy kind or else I have to wear size 12s then they really bag in the waist.
I do lots of workouts but "spot reducing' doesn't work you have to let your body take the fat from where it wants - and unfortunately for most of us it seems thats the one place we want to keep it on LOL

You can perk them up a bit with strength training to work your pecs. Those are the muscles that support your breasts.
You might also want to treat yourself to a professional bra fitting. Don't go to a department store - go to a boutique that specializes in lingerie. I'm 54, and only recently did I learn how a bra is supposed to fit. Most women, it turns out, wear the wrong size!
My reward when I hit 10 pounds gone is a new -- fitted -- bra!
How the bra is supposed to fit:
The band is the part that does the supporting; not the cups, and definitely not the straps. If your bra rides up in back, that means it's too large. (That was a surprise to me!) You need to go down in size until the band is snug -- at the largest hook allowance. That way, as it stretches, which it will, you can adjust the size down by narrowing the hook allowance. In case any one doesn't know (which I highly doubt, but ...) the band size is the number size -- a 32B bra has a band size of 32.
The cups should fit around each breast and the middle of the bra front should rest flat against the chest in the cleavage between the breasts. If there's a gap between the band center and the center of your chest, your cup size is too small, and you need to go up a letter or more.
The straps provide a little additional support, but not much. If you get strap marks on your shoulders, your bra does not fit properly.
Basically, the band supports everything at the right height. The cups support and shape the breasts (which is why you get different cup styles for different looks in clothes.) If the band is the right size (80-90% of the support) and the cup is the right size (the balance of the support) then the bra will be more comfortable and make you look like a million bucks, no matter your size!
Keep in mind that the size isn't what matters. What matters is that you look great. Don't get fixated on numbers!
May we all have success reaching our weight-loss goals!
