Lose It! iphone app
So i recently got an iphone n was hoping that calorie count had an app. Unfortunetly they don't yet, but I found another great app similar to CC called Lose it! So far I love it and just wanted to share with you guys.
Best of all, it's free!! I read some reviews and they said the database is not very big, but i haven't had any probs with it. Very easy to add new food.
Let me know if any of you guys use and what you like/dislike.
I want an iPhone someday. But T-mobile doesn't even have them. =/
I just got it on Thursday. I absolutely love it. You don't even realize how neat it is til u have it and play with it.
I just switched from Verizon to AT&T after my contract was up. iPhone makes the blackberry look very **** lol. Def. recommend it. Now that i have the Lose it! app im even more happier, helps me stick to the diet much more.
This app is amazing!!!!!!
Im doing a study abroad in France, and this app has made it possible for me to count my calories while im away!
yay! ..im not a big fan of eating back what I exercise though. How accurate do you think the calorie estimate is?
I have a blackberry, I'm hoping when my contract runs out that t-mobile will either carry these or I change plans. :3
Lose it is only available in the US. There are others, like ShapeUp, unfortunately not free. But its good enough for me. I haven't tested any other similar apps.
I use that app on my iphone too. I works pretty well hand in hand with CC. I really wish they would make a CC app soon! I have had a few little problems with the app but nothing to bad to the point where I do not want to use it. I truly believe the problem is just me being a little lazy :)
But enjoy you IPhone. It is truly the best phone out there! Mine has pretty much become my life line. IPhone addiction has taken over my food addiction. Silly I know but if you have an IPhone you might just understand.
I have been using the app for about 2 weeks, but this weekend is the first when I have been honest about my calories...so I haven't really lost yet but am still evaluating my needs. I really love this app, the recipes, serving sizes for custom foods, etc. is much more user friendly than CC. Also, the calorie goals are totally different...I can eat more and eating back calories for exercise makes more sense to me. On CC, it says my goal is 1350 calories per day, but perhaps I didn't understand the burn meter and never added calories for exercise. I was so famished and cranky, by the time the weekend came around I would binge eat & drink. So I am pretty sure my body went into starvation mode in the beginning of the week but then held on to all the extra calories on the weekends. Hence the vicious cycle of both gaining weight and the inability to loose weight. On Lose It! my daily calorie intake is 1500 - plus the amount I burn. This is so much more realistic for me and I think it will help me loose weight consistently & slowly FOR GOOD!
I'm not sure what I think about Lose It! although I am pretty loyal to Calorie Count - having lost 30 pounds here pretty easily a couple years ago. When I got my iPhone, I added this app to substitute for having to log on to my computer (something I rarely do anymore) but I'm skeptical. My calorie intake on CC is 1,610 but on Lose It! is 1,947. That's a 2,359 a week difference! I want to lose 10 pounds so I am sticking around 1,200-1,400 daily anyway but that is 2/3s of a pound difference for maintaining!!
If I had the time, I'd do side by side calorie tracking. Calorie Count, to me, seems more reliable only because you can find the exact name brand food - even crazy stuff- you eat, or add in recipes of things you've made at home etc.
It would make my day if they could come out with an app - pretty please?!?! You'd think it would be good revenue. I'd gladly pay a small fee for a CC app to keep all my data in one place.
It still is good discipline for tracking though. Couldn't lose without it!
Rumor is that Verizon will come out with an iphone sometime in 2010. Hoping that's true, cuz I hate ATT.
