25 pounds to lose! Come on...join me on our journey!!

Quote  |  Reply

Good morning to all!

I am 34 years old and currently weigh 175 pounds. My goal weight is 150 which puts me pretty thin, because (sorry if this offends...but we're all human) about 20 pounds of me is boobs. My doctor says that 150 is the equivalent of about 125-130 for my height.

So....I need to lose 25 lbs. I have been eating healthy and counting calories for about a week and have lost about 2 lbs so far..which is good. Now I just need some friends to commiserate with and keep one another motivated on this journey to good health and looking great!

I welcome all...I love meeting new people and have found that when you have someone along for the ride its much easier and more fun!

Hello Jeanette, I'm june and I would love to join you in your journey. I too would like to lose anywhere between 25 and 33 lbs.  I've been trying for a while and really nothing is working.  I am 5'1 and 25 yrs old, eat 1300-1500 cals a day and am moderately active (I work out 4-6 days a week40 minutes minimum) so I'm not quite sure.  I've gotten to my wits end with my weight, but I ordered calipers the other day and Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, which has some amazing reviews both here and on Amazon, so I'm on my way.

Hello,

and welcome to your Journey, I think it's awesome that you have set out with goals in mind and I know you are going to meet them and surpass them! I will be here to help you a long the way and keep you motivated!

Hello Chris and June! Thank you for joining me!! Its so hard to do it alone. June...tell me more about calipers and this Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I haven't heard of it.

Chris...what are your goals? I would like to learn more about you.

Well the calipers measure body fat percentage because I keep reading how I am over weight blah blah blah, but my husband argues with me constantly about it but last night he told me to order and pair and if my body fat percentage is actually above normal than I should seriously try to lose weight as opposed to just get toned up so I'm awaiting its arrival from Amazon.com, they were 8.99 or something so I figured why the hell not!  As for Jillian Michael's 30-day Shred.  I read like 200 hundred reviews on Amazon of people's great success with it then I checked it out on CC and alot of people had success with it here too, so I decided to get it from Netflix (test it out first before i actually purchase it) and I'm going to try it along with "The real fast fat loss" program (you can find that program here: http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=158 9833) I read about it on CC and finally HIIT (high intensity interval training).  I've decided to burn fat more than just work about the scale.  I figured this forum would be a great way to track my progress. If you want, I can give you my workout schedule and we can compare notes...Provided you are looking to change up your workout routine.

I currently have NO workout schedule so sharing yours would be great!! Thank you.

I've added you as a buddy, I will send you a message through your profile in about an hour or less with this weeks plan.  I literally just started to do it this way because "winging" it was working...I guess my body wants structure.  By the way, do you have any workout videos or anything like that, just so I know what to suggest?  Or I can just tell you the exact videos I use.  I hate the gym...not my type of atmosphere.  haha

I am 32 and weigh 174 I would like to weigh 145 I am only 5' 4" so that would put me at a healthy BMI. I would like to have buddies to be accountable to also. Why don't you start a group,or if I start one would you too join it?

annulyju you are a part of the 15 lbs by Christmas challenge!

well just let me know about the group thing and if you two want me to start it I will!- Candi

Hey Candi!  I'm a part of groups, but I actually don't even know what that entails. If you start a group, what happens then? Does it work the same way as forums?  I know I haven't yet utilized everything on this site yet I'm still learning.

Also, I've gotten go discouraged by seeing the scale remain the same for so long, I've just got to try something new!

Candi,

Im with June. I dont know how to start a group, or how it all works. Can you explain it to me? Or go ahead and start one and tell me how to join.

Thank you so much! This is great!!

well for the group it is kind of like the forums only there are members and those members post and reply to the posts.I think a group would be a little more personal and you can be a little more accountable there simply because there are a small group of people who can stay on each other's case.I have joined groups on this site but a lot of them are not very active and I'd like a small group that is active and can .give me a push once in a while.I also get bored and discouraged that is why I started  that challenge and I'd like to find a group to help me with this as well.

alright I will start the group and tell everyone how to join it.any suggestion on a name for the group?

That sounds perfect Candi!! Can you please start a group and then let me know how to join? This will be wonderful!! Because I get bored and lose motivation also.

I started the group it is called "Losing those extra pounds",I do not know how to put a link up but if you hover over community and scroll down to groups you can type in the name to find it.Sorry I am not too smart when it comes to computers so I don't know how to put a link!

Hey jeanette. I have the workout in a calendar (day-to-day) format, do you have an email I can send it to as an attachment seeing as I can't do it here on CC. I figured it could be a good way to establish a working workout regiment and perhaps hold one another to the committment we have made!

I also email this message to you just incase you chose not to post your email in the forum.

No worries! You can email it to me at jeanette@uwayreno.org. Thank you so much for sharing with me!!

I joined the group that was made! Can't wait to lose weight with all of you!

COOL! We needed more people!

I'll join the group!

I'd like to join. A small group is definately what I need. I tried finding "Losing those extra pounds" under community but got bombareded with long lists of forums. Any additional information on how to get there?
