Lose 20 lb. by September 15th

I'm 19 years old and just finished my freshman year of college. I'm 5'4 and 157 lb. My goal weight is 125 but for now I want to lose the first 20 lb. By September 15th I would like to lose the first 20 and then the other 12 lb. by December. I leave the first week of January for 7 months to go study abroad in Italy and visit my family in Croatia. We can weigh our selves every Monday and post our losses (hopefully).

Welcome to the group! That makes twelve now :) Congrats on those 70 lbs. Thats awesome! How did you lose those first 70 lbs? What did you change to get to where you are now?

I'm feeling great right now I just went for an hour and a half walk and did about 3 1/2 miles if not a little more. I'm exhausted but its great. I just want to look amazing when I study abroad in Italy in January... I'm going to see my grandparents (both sets) next May for like three months in Croatia afterwards... Haven't seen them and some of the family in 6 yrs so I want to look amazing :)

I'm 24, 5'6", 147, and would LOVE to lose 20 by September 15! I realize I'm not "technically" overweight by BMI standards but I definitely feel like I am for my body type. I've kind of yo-yo'ed around between 115 (starving) and 140 since my late teens but have put on a few pounds more in the last year or two (graduated from college, desk job, etc). I have a lot of perfectly good size 4 and 6 pants that I can no longer get over my butt :( 127 sounds like a pretty good goal weight to begin with; I'll see when that time comes if I want to lose another 5 or whatever.

hey! that sounds great. I too am a college student who just finished her freshman year, and gained the dreaded freshman 15. (well 12) I am currently 152 5'2" and looking to lose 32 pounds total.. 20 by aug 30. but i could push it to sept 15, it'll prolli be healthier any way. Im in!

hey girls! i'm just finishing freshman year as well and would like to shed the dining hall pounds i have gained this year, plus some more. I am 5' 5", 140, and would like to be at 125 or 120. my main goal this summer is to get rid of the love handles that i never had until coming to college, and finally slim down my hips. i'm also into swing dancing, so i want to build up my cardio endurance so i can just dance dance dance! good luck to everyone!

Wow 70lbs, congrats!!! That's alot of weight to lose!

I'm really bloated as well but that's entirely my own thought!! I really need to learn that the weekends are not 'all you can eat buffets'!!. I'm usually pretty good during the week but when the weekend comes healthy eating is out of the window.

I think the suggestion of also taking measurements is good especially if you haven't lost any weight but you have lost inches can be a real boost. Perhaps do that every 2nd weigh in, I know it sometimes takes me 2 weeks to notice difference in measurements? If anyone wants to do it more regularly that's ok.

Urban decay - I think 15 is a good number! but perhaps leave it another day to see who else may join?

Hey guys! I have no problem doing the measurements, but I think I'm a little stupid when it comes to them... is it your bust, waist, and hip measurement? If thats the case, the measurements are... 37-33.5-41 (I put the .5 because it was exactly on the .5 lol)... I definitely want the hip measurement to go down and the waist. I guess we shall see in two weeks about that... Shanona and Naija - Do you want to do that every other monday or pick another day like every other Saturday or something?

That's correct, bust-waist-hips, see you're not stupid when it comes to measurements!!  :-)

I don't really have hips, I have a big butt (plus huge thighs) instead, so my hip measurements mainly come from there

Mine are: 35-27-37. When I was 16lbs lighter I was 34-24-36, the first place I lose weight and where most of the weight is lost from is in my waist,  urghhh makes everywhere else look even bigger and is a nightmare buying trousers!! I would love to lose weight from my butt and thighs.

Omg dittttttttooooo! lol My waist isn't that bad... it's gotten smaller and my hips aren't even that bad for my body BUT my butt and my thighs are big so I have to get bigger size pants sometimes eventhough my waist doesn't need it. Its all very annoying but its okay... I'm going to make sure I get smaller everywhere lol I'm at work and its pouring out so I've been on the computer looking at all these different forums... very informative, I must say lol

losing weight of your waist is good though, i like big hips n small waist! I think it looks awesome :)

Okay, soooo measurements...Bust: 33 (flat chested), waist: 28, hips: 37 and huuuggeeee thighs

I would like to join if you guys will ahve me. I desperately need the support. I'm 5'2 and weigh 145 lbs. I started counting calories about 20 days ago and I have lost 7 lbs. Counting calories has seemed teh only thing that has helped; dieting is so hard for me. I'd like to get down to about 120-125. I looked healthy when I weighed that (not too thin, I like my curves). Good luck to everyone! 

The more the merrier! I want this to be a place people can come and talk. Its always easier to lose weight when you have some type of support and way of motivation. I wish you all luck! I'm really happy I started this thread :)

I'm 19 (going to be 20 in September...what a trip!) and I would looooove to lose 20 pounds by my birthday! I lost 40 pounds last year but I lost my way (silly college) and gained 20 back. After that 20, I'm gunning for another 20 but that's getting ahead of myself. :)


If by this time next year I could be 175, I'd be over the moon. My body holds weight really well, so I'd be a freaking fox by then!

Hey Ladies! I kept reading that you were going to close the group, so I'm hoping im not too late! I'm Sara , 19 and just finished first year of university. 5'4 and 145 pounds, and like a few others I am hoping to get down to 125/130. I was eating pretty well for the last couple of weeks, but had a slight binge tonight ( my house mates are all out on dates tonight, leaving me alone and single in our house = ice cream haha). But this group sounds really great and supportive, so hopefully you guys can help me kick those bad habits!
