the low carb has been going for about a week, I think... I have one meal that I don't worry about carbs.. Saturday night pizza night with my boyfriend.. fresh made pizza with hand-made dough and the best toppings... ever... lol.. with beer :) that's my official "cheat meal" and I wouldn't rid that for anything :) and if you're going to people's houses, try taking a veggie tray to share.. I've been trying to do that and it goes over pretty well :) now that I've gotten rid of the Easter candy, the no candy/sugar thing should be a breeze :D

kp- yay for the exercise bike! that will be nice :)  and I have no recipes for brownies... sorry :(

Mornin ladies! I didn't "work out" yesterday but i did chase my 3 kids around for three hours. we were playing tag! Then my bf came over after the kids went to bed ;) I'd say I had an active day!

Putting the bike in front of the TV is the plan! I am a CSI and America's Next Top Model whore (along with Dexter, Criminal Minds, Paranormal State, etc -- yeah I am a nerd). But until then, to keep this challenge up with Steph, I will be on the elliptical for at least 30 minutes at level 5 or more every night. Hope that is satisfactory?!

Now, must have a walkabout!

I had a fabulous weekend.  Three days of water, exercise and proper eating.  Here is my official weigh-in (since I started late) and then i'll start weighing in with all of you on Friday's.

It is POURING rain here.  I will get out and jog even if it is still wet.  I will do laundry (that has to count as a little exercise...).  I will finish the homework I did not do this weekend tonight.  (blush)

I was pretty good at the Wrestle Mania party. I had a spoonful of mac and cheese and the smallest piece of cornbread ever! I was so proud of myself I treated myself to more cabbage and chicken. So I was pretty stuffed. Very good party though lots of fun even if you don't watch that junk. I stayed away from the snacks and put the kids stuff all in baggies because if I left it out I would of ate it. I even incorporated some apples/grapes into their snacks.

Stephie-No carbs not even wheat pasta my new fav?

Mich-Yes I will do the stairs daily but I am only on the 4trh floor!

Olivia- sorry you struggled my secret for waking on mon is to find something the night before that excites me about the day, whether it be telling my coworkers a funny story about my hubby or how he got on my last nerve, or leaving my son a funny note, showing off my new hair do planning  my lunch with a friend. I know its corny but it has been working!

Jess- Yay wogging coming up I live in NYC so its been to cold. Yay spring (sorry allergy people)

I hate dark choc any alternitives other than choc pudding I want that melt in your mouth taste too. :(

I don't LOVE my exercise bike I acually feel better working out with a tape. I don't feel like I really fet my heart rate pumping but yes my legs are killing me the next day. Soo I guess it works. I will start my weights this week I really want some resistance bands. What do you guys think of those instead od weights.

Wow - seems like everyone had a good weekend with temptations and all!  I didn't go out, just stayed home studying.  Friday had pizza and beer - yum and pretty much stayed under 1600, just really ate light the whole day saving up.  Rented Gone Baby Gone - i would recommened this one!  It was not gruesome either like some of those crime dramas (I really don't like blood and guts - no horror for me!)

Got into a huge fight with the HTB, talked it out, but I still feel like crap.  that's why I wasn't hungry on sat, and didn't eat much yesterday either.

My test is less than two weeks away so I'm trying my darndest to really focus, but damn I am getting sick of this crap!  I know it will be worth it, I just am so overwhelmed and overloaded.  I am staying home from work today to study.

Weight this morning - 139.2!  Holy cows - back in the 130s!  I'll take it!  now if I can just stay here this time :)

We are suppose to be getting rain all week, except Wednesday, so much for the external wogging idea... Maybe I'll be an internal wogger this week. 

So I've been doing some thinking lately, and one thing that I've always been told is that it takes 2 weeks to form a habit, or make something part of a routine.  So with this being said, I am going to conquer one new thing every 2 weeks and work it into my daily routine.  Since I was having problems with the breakfast thing, which I've been working on the past week, I will continue with it until next Monday, and then form a new "Routine/Habit" 

So I am taking suggestions... Keep in mind that it has to be something obtainable, because I don't want to fail at my new "tasK"... I was thinking maybe adding an extra 15 minutes in the morning to do some sort of exercise before work, something little but just to get the blood flowing, what do you think?

I am in as well!  I just started today and would love to have a goal for June 1...about the time to squeeze into summer clothes.  Okay so i weighed myself today at 154 pounds,  I am 5'4 athletic build with a belly that needs to go! I will log in on friday to give a weigh in.  I hope to be at 140 by June 1st.  Is that too much to try for?  Spring is here and I hope to get active outside as much as possible.  Also I just got a job at a resort wher I get free golf and canoe rentals...motivation to take advantage of the beautiful land I live in!  I am excited to hear from everyone and how thay are doing!

Sounds like everyone is getting back on track for this week!  And congrats to everyone who has lost!

It was me that had the bday party this weekend for my son.  He turned 8. :)  He had such a blast and I was such a zombie by Sunday.  But I didn't get to bed early last night so didn't get up early at all this morning so no treadmill. :(  I was so bummed but I still have after work to do it.  I think I am with you other ladies on making my goal to work out everyday this week, that plus drink my water should help me see numbers that I like on the scale this weekend.

Jess -- I have heard also about it taking like 2-3 weeks to form a habit.  Its the way I have been tackling my whole changing my eating and lifestyle has been one thing at time.  I started with cutting out soda, then moved on to portion control, sweets, etc.  I always know when I have been doing something enough to make a habit when I make my choice unconciously.  Like the first week or two I had to think about what I wanted to drink when I was ordering.  By the 3rd week saying iced tea or water was just natural.   Good luck!  By doing little goals/habits by the time you notice, you have changed half of your life. :)

Olivia -- Hope the rain slows down in time for your jog!

Amares -- sounds like you did awesome with the Wrestlemania temptations, WTG!

immom -- Chasing the kids is great excercise, its something I need to do more. :)

carolspaw --welcome to the post.  ( :  I don;t think too much if you are eating and exercising.  ( : drink lots of water.  I am a runner with a belly too, but my goal weight is your weight now....well, 150.  lol, how funny

amaresmom -- Sweet Freedom Blue Bunny Fudgesicles (35 cals)!  you did great at your party too -- way to be!   ( :    I like your wake up attitude trick too.....   I just.....GET up.   I have no choice.  I sleep until 545, out the door at 630.   I like resistance bamds.  Be sure and get something that is for it go over the door too, so you can do tricep things too...   Does your library maybe have free tpes/dvds you can borrow? know anyone with netflix? I get all kinds of vids from flix...

lemn -- I will have to see movie.  =P reference above.  sorry you had fight.  how're things now? ......you know I am so jealous of you -- 139!!!   : D

jess, go to the mall or walmart and walk around with a full cart.   can you even take the boys and make a scavenger hunt out of it for them?  (blush)  I am a huge dork.    and I love your ecercise i n the am plan.  I never ever do that and I should.....  I bet I'd be more awake.   It just means like getting up at 5 instead of 545.   ) :  boohiss!   in regards to wogging outside..... can you jog at your kids school in the gym maybe?  just trying to brainstorm, but we have old people who do in ours.....   do you do stuff at home?  I use my fitness ball, pushups, triceps, arms, abs,squats, glutes, bands, there's all kinds of stuff you can do for free....  how old are the boys again?  4 and 6?  my brother loved to "work out" when he was little.... <3 you jess!  smile   : D

sorry to stacy/krppt about that mixup again, but yay anje!  I am glad the party was fun!  I like working out every day. that way I feel less worried about eating because I know the cals I need to feel good for me on a run day....... for me it just makes everything eaiser/simpler.    ( :

I did make it up to the 10th floor - stopped a few times to stretch :o)

Mother nature is playing a cruel April Fools joke on us and we have about 6 inches of snow and it is still snowing hard!  i think the total will be around 8-10 inches.  i guess that is whay I get for living in Minnesota!

Tonight I am just going to do some cleaning and perhaps some dancing around the apartment to get my heart rate up!

My biggest weakness candy-wise is gummy snacks and I came back from a meeting to find someone had a left a bunch on my desk.....and I ate them.  As long as I go light on dinner I should have no problem sticking to 1500-1600 for the day - so all together it is a so-so eating day.

KRRRPT- GOOD...I am one that REALLY needs motivating exercise-wise...

While at "the boat"..we went to a concert KC and the Sunshine band-----talk about a blast from the past ...........lol

I made myself esercise "dance" to every great song...I figured hey lets make the most of it!!

And it was fun! But I did NOT turbo today....tomorrow.............

make sure you get in what you can for exercise! just think of how good you feel when you are done :)

just go put on your workout clothes... really... go do it :) that's the hardest part! after that, you'll be exercising in no time!

I would... but I have a research paper due tomorrow... I already did my weight lifting this morning and am doing cardio/abs tomorrow... who's with me! :D

So I dont break the challenge I will be doing abs and butts tonight, although my master class yesterday has left me feeling... sore sore sore. Especially since I never fully recovered from total body conditioning. 

 

Ive decided that running is a bad idea till I get new gym shoes that are less shin-splint prone. I need to find some other cardio to do- any ideas? Im thinking dancing on my own when the studio is empty.... but Im not sure when that is... 

 

Today went badly :/ I allowed my popcorn craving to take over after Id eaten enough already. Oh well. Tommorrow= better day. And I drank tons of water :)

Massive news - got on the scales this morning and they were down one - 156!!!! So inspired now. Although I know its not weigh in day yet.

Went for a really long slow jog last night as well plus did some serious hoovering and kitchen cleaning.

Krrpt - only carbs I had was a small amount of brown rice and only sugar was some fruit and a yogurt.. how am I doing?

Amaresmom - I'm only going to allow my self a small amount of wholewheat pasta as other wise I will totally be off the wagon! Plus well done with the temptation - I think I would have caved!

Olivia - Did you manage to get out in the rain? If you did I'm so proud of you!!!!

Katie - Have you got that bike yet?

Lemntwist - How are you feeling about the fight. Sorry for you, hope your better now!

 

I did jog -- but it had stopped raining. I did have to squeeze it in before my tax appointment though, also turbo showered = taxes with wet hair, but I DID IT!  ( :

and did I read that right?  happy birthday to zanasavvy!  *shaking my booty in the happy dance*  I will be 31 on Sunday.......  how weird.
Olivia - funny you should say that about your brother loving to workout.  Cory my oldest (he'll be 8 on April 14) works out with me occassionally. When I do my exercise videos, it's so cute.

Unfortunately, the younger guy (he just turned 4) doesn't find as much fun in it and I usually end up running around trying to calm him down.  And now that Hubby isn't home nearly as often, it's very hard for me to get sometime to myself to go for a wog, unless I get up really early.  Which would be the same for me getting up at 5 instead of 5:45, and as many times as I've set my alarm, it just comes too early and the snooze button keeps getting pushed. 

However, I believe that if I make it my goal for 2 weeks, it would be a whole lot easier to get use to because I don't want to fail at these goals....  Anyway, I am not going to make excuses for anything anymore.  The only way to do something is to step it up and do it!  That's what I am going to do!  Life is too short! 

This is the new Jess - things are going to start looking up guys!  You'll see!  Happy April!  Happy Tuesday!!!

Wow I really need to start catching up, I feel like I have so much to do to get to know all of you! 

You all have so much to be proud of - so what if you may have had a little something you shouldn't of.  Seriously as long as you don't continue to do it over and over again, life is going to go on. 

Congrats to all of you who have lost some weight this week, I am planning on joining you in the loss this week.  But I am staying away from the scale until next Monday. 

Congrats on losing a lb stephiepops!!
