thanks jess for the reality check on my journal entry, I envy you for being in such a great mood today you have now rubbed off :)

I will NOT weigh myself until friday especially if its going to cause me to kill someone which is how I feel today. I really want calm down but food is the only thing that helps. I got on my bike last night it was very good I feel it this morning. Maybe tonight I will incorporate some more cardio.

Olivia-thanks for the dark choc substitute. I will try those this week. Congrats on your wet run :0

Stephie- good for you on the wheat pasta, I know what you mean about the portion control. congrats on the lost

mishellie- don't break the challenge good luck on the abbs/butt tonight

Krrpt-you were so right about putting on those work out clothes,I sat in mine for 10 min then had to just do it!

Zena- is that a happy birthday I saw, Happy birthday!
Zena - Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you...Happy BIRTHDAY DEAR ZENAAAAAAAAAA - HAPPPPPYYYYYYYY BIRTTTTTHDAY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Sorry had to sing for the occasion!

Amare - remember being in a good mood is a choice that you can make at any time.  Sure there will always be opstacles in our way and trying to bring us down, but it's up to us to make the best of every situation.

Note to self - Follow this advice when I am down.  haha!  It's hard for everyone!  But just enjoy the little things in life.  Remember that the scale is just that a number.  There are so many other things you are getting out of this journey besides a lower number.

Think about the years your adding to your life, think about nursing your heart back to health, (sorry a 42 yr old guy just died of a massive heart attack really close to my parent's house - which was an eye opener for me).  Think about the additional energy you have to keep up with Amare - she appreciates that more than you can imagine!
And most of all remember that this mood is probably steamed off of evil TOM!!!

good morning! down a little this morning and feel pretty confident about hitting my weekly goal, if not pass it :)

mishellie- make sure you get enough rest after a hardcore workout! you don't want to hurt yourself :) but, good job getting through it all! and yes.. new gym shoes are a great investment! and popcorn?? not bad!! it could have been a bag of potato chips!

steph- that is great!!! i think we're only allowing whole wheat carbs and you didn't have any added sugar! perfect! nice job with the loss!!

olivia- nice job with the jog!!

jess- GREAT ATTITUDE!! you can do it!!!

amaresmom- stay away from the emotional eating the best you can :) instead, think of a happy time in your life to cheer you up! and drink water while you do it ;) isn't that funny! it seems that once you're in your workout clothes, you might as well do the workout! when I started working out in the morning, I started sleeping in my workout clothes so I just woke up and went at it! lol...

sounds like everyone is doing a FANTASTIC job! Spring is in the air!! enjoy it!!

Good morning beautiful ladies!

Congrats on everyone's losses! YAY! I plan on being in that group soon enough!

Jess - I think the 15 minute morning thing is a grand idea! I NEED to do that!

Stephie - No bike yet. Waiting on the $$ to come through from the beloved (who is amazing btw!) I also have to find someway to put it together too. I am HORRIBLE and utter CRAP at putting things together! I put a shelving unit together backwards once! Hopefully by the end of the week. Until then, elliptical trainer pour moi. Or tae bo. And eball crunches.

I was bad last night. My Brummie friend invited me over for dinner and we had homemade lasagna. Granted I had a serving size and no extras (bread, second slice etc) But I did go over my calories. And for the first time in a while, I am not beating myself up for it. I was really good all day, so I am back on the wagon today! Also, last night John's brother wanted him to get Chinese takeaway with him and he said "no." He told him he had to be good because I was being good. He's such a sweetie!

I think that's about it for now! Will be back later!

Good day Sports...

How is everyone?

I feel dead hungry today and quite tired but going to push myself outside to do some exercise soon.

kp- you need a nice man to put your bike together for you... maybe you could ask your boyf to do it for you when he comes over?

Krrpt - Thanks! Dont feel down, I am confident that you will hit that goal this week! Keep going! No added sugar again today and I 1 slice of whole meal bread if thats ok?

Amaresmom - well done on the work out! I always dont want to do anything but then I alwasy feel better for it afterwards..... A good thing to tell yourself.

Mich - Thanks!!! Lets hope it stays off tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

Olivia well done on the job.. I thought you would, you are an inspiration!

Jess ~ I think that 15 easy minutes in the morning is a great idea - should help improve my mood, for sure!  I will try it tomorrow :)  As for another habit - maybe something with water - unless you got that one down already!

Carol ~ hi!  That's def a lofty goal, but if you really kick butt you can do it!  Just don't get discouraged if doesn't happen as fast as you'd like - you really gotta stick to it.

Anje ~ I like resistance bands, they are sure cheaper than a gym and you can def make your muscles sore, which means they are working!

Zena ~ Happy b-day!  who cares about counting on your b-day anyway - I'm sure you danced it off :)

Mishellie ~ you could always get a cardio DVD and do it in your living room, it'll be much easier on shin splints.  Those really are the worst, if you strech your calves before and really long and hard after (like standing on stairs)  and then point your toes to strech the other way, it helps a lot.

Stephie ~ sounds like you are doing great on the challenge, brown rice and wheat pasta are allowed!  Plus 1 lb down means your doing something right :)

I will be excersizing with you all soon enough - went for a walk on sunday to the store to get toothpaste, that's pretty much it.  I know sad!  Had a sort of interview yesterday, went well, now I've got all this stuff on my mind about changing jobs.  I think I should do it, but I have this feeling of loyalty where I am... I wish this could've waited until after the test.

Hey is there room for an english girl too?? :) or is it toolate to join? X

kp- great job with the portion control! being healthy includes indulging every now and then :)

stephie- as long as it's whole wheat! you're good :) and I worded my first post weird.. I'm quite happy today :) my weight went down ;)

lemn- follow your heart :) if you have a good feeling about this new job, take it! but if the feeling of loyalty is stronger, just stay put :) everything happens for a reason :)

vix- I don't see why you wouldn't be able to join :) we are going through an exercise challenge (to exercise every day) and a no bad carb/sugar challenge (very minimal use of granulated sugar/added sugar and limited bad carbs... these do not include fruits, veggies, whole wheat products or anything else that you know is healthy :) so, no candy :P) and this is in addition, to losing the 10lbs by 5/24... but I'm sure the extra challenges will only help us succeed :)

I just joined last Friday and everyone welcomed me, so I'm sure you can join too - vixabb!

As for everyone else, I'm so interested to go back and read all of the postings so I can learn more about you all.  You seem to have a really great thing going here.

So - last night I was supposed to go out with a girlfriend for Happy Hour.  I went to the restaraunt website and there was NO nutritional information and there wasn't anything not terrible on the menu.  So, I called my friend and asked her if she had any interest in doing something else.  She wanted to see a movie!

I was so proud of myself for knowing I didn't want to go and trying to do something about.  She is my best friend and I hang out with her weekly - so I didn't want to miss this week, but I also didn't feel like eating that way.  YAY - it all worked out.

Today, I get to exercise in a hotel room (travelling for work) and am going to find something healthy to eat for dinner.

Sounds like you all are doing great.  I'll comment on you individually when I learn more :)  -  I just don't want to get your names and situations wrong ;)

Happy Tuesday!

OMG - so one of my coworkers walks in and says you're good at playing stuff off.  We wanna play a joke on the boss man - you walk in there and say you're resigning...

I couldn't say anything!  It would so NOT be funny if I did quit a week later!

Happy tuesday everyone...Sounds like everybody is doing good today! Stephie-congrats on losing 1 pound, it really is motivating when you see the scale move in the direction...

zena-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I feel really tired today and so far have not exercised, but definitely plan on it later...

Hope everyone continues to have a healthy day!

May I please join your challenge??  I have been reading the posts and you all sound like a fun group.  I really need some inspiration to lose 10 pounds....I will then be at my goal weight.  May 24th is a great date because hopefully we can  all be breaking out the shorts.  It will be awhile before the bathing suit comes out.  It could still snow here in May/June.

Anyway I am 5'2" at 135 with a dreadful spare tire around my middle.  I am 42 so the weight gain just overwhelmed me!!  I was at 140 the beginning of February and I do not understand why this weight loss is taking so long.  I eat about 1200 to 1400 calories and workout almost everyday although not as hard as I should.  Weight training is fun, cardio I hate!

I do not really eat sweets; just got used to not eating them.

I will be out of town at a wedding so I will post my weight on Monday...maybeWink

Take care,

Kim

Thank you olivia77, amaresmom, Jess, lemntwist, tracigil, for the birthday wishes!!

So Olivia you are a fellow Aries! Hope you have a great birthday Sunday!

Going to dinner with my son (14) at Red Lobster this evening!

I love that place...have to be careful though.

Welcolme Vixabb,puppykisses/kim,

This is a great motivating group. I look forward to it daily now! Look forward to your weigh ins and feedback/questions.

Thanks you ladies, Krrpt, stephie,Olivia, Jess I think I am either post PMSing or just hungry as heck lol. I am much better now.Your positive words worked wonders. I even did it with out pigging out which was hard.

Zena becareful at Red Lobster, I could just eat the bread with no meal. I am such a cheap date:)

Happy Birthday zena! I have no idea how I missed that reading through the posts! Apologies!

Stephie - I think I might do that! I ordered the bike and it said it would get here while he's home, so voila! Smile Oh and btw, everyone! I officially have an exercise bike!!! Bought it today!!! Hope your jogging goes well. If you have to cut yourself short, do some pilates. A little is better than nuffink!

Krrpt - Every time I see your name I think of "crypt" and Tales from the Crypt which is one of my favourite shows! LOL Plus I like zombie flicks...yeah I know! I'm weird! I thought I did vair well on the lasagna front. I effin LOVE lasagna and could eat it till, well you get the pic....! So thanks for the hurrah!

vix - there is ALWAYS room for more! The more encouragement, the better!

So, had a work lunch. Thought I did vair well. Had a grilled chicken sandwich, no condiments with cheese and a few chips. I do have to say I was bad and had 1/2 the bun as they had no wheat buns! But overall I think I did ok. I don't feel overly full either. And I would just like to say, I can't stand that restaurants don't have healthy alternatives *such as aforementioned wheat bun*! I know a few do, but they all need to get into the habit as more and more people make healthy lifestyle changes. Hmph. That is my rant for the day.

Hope everyone enjoys their afternoon!

Hope dinner out at Red Lobster is good  (vicarious drooling....)

welcome to vix and puppkisses -- always welcome here!

Short but sweet, I've done well eating today.  Off to take my walk/jog for the day!
me again.....

does it count if I want to have a snack later that I totally just worked out for 20 odd minutes --in front of J -- (gasp) doing fitness ball abs, arms, cardio, squats -- and more abs, sink squats, and lots of pushups (at leat a lot for me)???   J said he could see my tricep muscle working.  I have a tricep muscle????   when did that happen?

got lots of compliments and felt /cute/nice today in a white shirt and brown tweed pants I've never been able to wear before....never fit before.  woo hoo (and a totally hippie cool daisy brown/white/yellow scarf I wore around my neck.  =P  forgive me my excesses)

now if only the scale would cooperate......I weighed 5 times after it changed once to see.....3 times it said 177 or 177.5 (lost a lb/1.5) and 2 times it said 179 (gained .5).  scales blow

Yeah Red Lobster was awesome.....Without the stuffed mushrooms I would have stayed near my daily calorie limit  Overdid it by 400 cal BUT..it WAS a birthday dinner with my son

GOTTA BURN CALORIES TONIGHT.

Anyone really know if a woman burns more calories during TTOM?

I always eat wayyyy to many of the rolls at Red lobster!   Glad to hear you did reasonably well there!   I didn't eat great today but still ended up under then the calories used.

I've lost about 8lbs since I started CC and today was the first day I actually felt thinner!

I definately need to be better on the calorie totals though if I want to make my goal by Friday!  I am doing my strength training tonight so, so far I am keeping up on the exercise goals.

Good night gals!

Hi everbody! Sounds like everone is doing good. I got my exercise in today. It was torture, but I did it. I woke up with a major head cold this morning. Was in a fog all day at work, then went for a 40 minute run the took every bit of energy I had left. Just got home from my sons first soccer practice. It's freezing outside. It was sunny when I was running. I think I need a hot cup of tea. Have a good night ladies!
