for bulk..higher weight
to tone and tighten--lower weight--more reps
women don't get bulky without supplements and serious, dedicated HOURS at the gym... and testosterone, lol ;) I've been doing higher weights for about 6 months and am very, very far from bulky :)

I mean, I have some muscle definition.. but nowhere near bulky :) trust me... lifting heavy is FUN!
just wanted to add.. heavy weights for me is 15lbs... planning to move up to 20lbs very soon...
Just recording the Friday weigh-in. unfortunately, this week has been BAD. Minimal effort at the gym, lots of unhealthy food.
Last week: 120lb, this week: 120lb
:( I know that I can try so much harder.. I keep telling myself "tomorrow I'll go hardcore".. and tomorrow never comes. Argh, I'm just not committing myself! I am going to put my mind to it... and think about next friday when I can be reporting better statistics for you girls. I don't want to be left behind!

I am so excited to have lost exactly 1 lb. Sure do love my digital scale. Yesterday I was 103.2, so 2 more ounces lost. Yesterday I had a good day munching on all the pre-portions of fruits and vegetables I had made up. I'm already on track, doing the same today. I plan to spend a while on the internet reading and learning from other success stories. You all have a great weekend. :)

As of today April 4th my weight is 148.5
4lbs. woo hoo....I had to triple check the scale. I haven't weight under 150 in years. I think there was only one aother time...lol it feels good!! I've just been trying to watch my calorie intake and hitting the gym a little more and if Ican't hit the gym I've been walking, jump roping and pilates! I went tothe zoo the other day with some friends...that was a lot of fun and it was nice hike for the day. I think the not drinking also has a lot to do with it. I realized I'm able to work at longer and at a little more intensity. I'm not as tired. OKay I'm off to clean house and do some pilates. Hope everyone is having a great friday!!
krrpt - thanks so much for your words of encouragement! I will keep that in mind for the week and hopefully that will get my butt into gear and out of the bakery/ice cream aisles of the supermarket! :) I look forward to announcing some GOOD news like fellow CCer rachel and baby_d. sillyflowa- Thank you!! Ohh man I know how hard it is to stay away from those aisles!! I'm having my friends birthday dinner tomorrow night at my house and of course there will be cake and ice cream!! That means hitting the gym extra this coming week.
I know how you feel about " i'll do it tomorrow" That has been me SO many times in the last few years. Krrpt08's advice is great... I think I'll start using that too.. esp on the days I do not want to go to the gym..like today its cold and cloudy I'd rather stay in and do things around the house!! lol ..Good luck this coming week! dum, dum, and the weigh in this morning was 139.4! So maybe it did stick! from last week that is down another 1.2 lbs and total 3.2 - I'm very proud. But I have been a very good girl eating wise :)

kim ~ sounds like they are def giving you a workout! how fun!
stacy ~ don't worry too much you are working out pretty hard, so you will eventually see a drop. I hear ya on the magazine rant - oh well they will never use realistic models as far as I can tell.
oliva ~ WOWZA I think you need to change your goal to 20 lbs by may 24th :) This had def helped me because I think about being good just so I can report in to you all on Fridays - and get excited to hear about your progress - funny how that changes how you think. Happy early b-day too!
amare ~ not eating out for lunch (even tho slightly anti-social at my place) has helped me soooooo much. I have the same thing for lunch most days and I know how many cals and i feel full! Then I can do diff fun stuff for dinners. Keep it up!

Sorry I didn't tune in last week; had a bit of a health scare over the past two weeks. Doctor gave me the ok for light exercise so I should be back to normal routine soon. All should be well.

Hi all! Today weigh in at 175, for .8 lost from last week. I'll take it. So far a total of 1.8 lbs lost!

I definately ate too many calories this week so I am happy with where I am. 1.5 lbs down, 8.5 to go! Here's to the start of a great week! I am definately in for the 15 minutes a day of yoga challange!

OMG not NOT the greatest night at work.
THEN had to go to the vet's office to pick up a bag of $70 dog food (Skipper has allergies) and on the way home..go delayed for 30 minutes because in Bloomington IN --home of IU--an IU mini-marathon was going on ..and God forbid you should need to go somewhere or worse........what is your car was out of gas (nearly) and the little yellow-orange light is shining saying "GET GAS DUMBASS!!" because at the intersections there are at least cops trying to direct traffic....AND what if you have to pee because you have been on the road for 1 hour and 40 minutes....and of course you had 16.9 oz. of water.........LOL Anyway..I am home and got on the scales...165....bummed.......but the last weight of 1.2 was Lasix induced..because I was curious about how much water weight I hold due to TTOM
Nevertheless.....literally.......Working nights..I always come home holding (fluid)
We shall see what the next few days have in store.
COME MONDAY___I am REALLY working out...starting back on Turbo Jam and lifting FREQUENTLY....setting my priorities.!!

I didn't work out last night. I had mega allergy induced grodiness. I could barely open my eyes. I fell alseep on the couch. So today it's elliptical and ST for me.
Also, I am down another .5lbs!!! YAY!!
i know im pushing it, joining in a tad too late for the 10 lb. goal by the 24th... but there's no harm in trying right? :) i have a wedding to attend on may 11th and any pound lost would be really appreciated :) i started at 195 lbs. 2 days ago and have dropped to 191. lbs today, although im sure iits mostly water.. still, it's nice to see the numbers drop right? :)
