I was given the ultimate gift for Xmas --- a vacation to LA and Vegas.
I want to lose 10 lbs before we fly out on May 24th.

Oh and my bf LOVES to eat "my" food- I have to hide the good stuff from him-lol...
Yeah it would be so much cheaper to eat crap, BUT maybe not so much down the road- with all the health problems it can cause- spend more now, save later?
I am in Colorado- there is a market that they start soon, but it is quite a drive- I have never heard of Aldi's.... they are building a Sunflower market near me- walking distance in fact- it is a colorado based discount whole food store- I am excited for that! but for now, I will just be an old folk and complain about the prices of food and gas :)
I know how you feel about trying to make it through the day and then go work out- but knowing you- you will go home and run a marathon...
When I'm not feeling it (like today) I make myself go for 10minutes and then I just have to do the rest of time b/c what would be the point of only 10 minutes :)My big thing is that I am going to have to get up early at least on two days a week to get the work out in- I am not a morning person... Tomorrow will be day one

I will join you on your challenge! I am wanting to feel half way decent when I get off the plane in Dublin. The powers of the Universe need to come together and grant me a 15 pound loss before I leave (it IS the least that could be done after the s*it week I have had). So, I will be on my bike everynight til the 16th June. So I am extending the challenge for my own purposes. And of course, that is also to say as long as the Universe does not take a nosedive in my backyard.
Is there a time frame we are adhering to? Thirty minutes an hour, what's the story??
thinthought -- Aldi's is a market where everything is in big boxes and you have to bag your own groceries when you get done, but man, is it cheap!!!!!! I get all my fresh fruits and veggies there -- rice cakes, Q-tips, lots of stuff for way cheap... I wonder if they have those in CO... maybe a Food Saver or FOod 4 Less? I SERIOUSLY WISH I had time ot workout in the AM before work and just be done wth it. BUT for that to work for me, I would have to get up at like 4:30. (NOT happening...)
LOL, kpersons -- I am bad at rules.... How about we say at least 30 minutes or walking, working, or other cardio every day until you are done.

On your FYI question, Olivia....now, COME ON! OF COURSE NOT!!!! Just because the date book says 05-25-08 does not mean we have to end this thread. Some of us still need more time to lose our ten and in that the forum MUST go on!!!!!!!

The reason I ask that is because it gives structure and some of us need "rules" per se to actually do it.

Aldi's- that must be like our Cosco or Sam's club- I should visit ours more often!
I'll have to get up around 5:15 to get a workout in on Tues/Thurs- but we will see- I might have to change some other things around...
Costco or Sam's are good for some stuff..... but ALdi;s is just way cheaper and bulk purchasing is not a requirement... Help me out, people. I live in Kansas/ Midwest, but there must be something similar in diff parts of the US>...

I felt the same yesterday about not wanting to run- the weather was bad, and i am not that brave, so it was treadmill for me- I thought about skipping, but then I said- I told the CCers that I would, so I did-
Sadly, I did not get up early this morning- too tired... I will work something in before dinner.
And yes, if anyone has a great secret place for enexpensive produce etc. in Colorado, please fill me in!

I did look at the website to see if there was a chance that there was one here, but no such luck.. the website looks nice though- with recipes that show nutritional content and all that ...

i wrote this on march 25, weighed 105.40 kilos = 232 pound
may 14 is 97.7 kilos = 215 pounds
ie loss is 17 pounds so far. start of may was not excellent as i have slipped for a few days and gained back a few pounds, up to 99 kilos, but am back on track now. if i manage to love 20 pounds by may 24 (ie weigh 212 pounds = 96 kilos on may 24), i will be very very happy, and it seems totally possible!
been a rough week so far for me -- not so much food or exercise, just life.

I am feeling better now..... Ever just get so excited about something happening, and then when you realize it didn;t happen, you are way more hurt/crushed by it than you would have been if you weren;t excited in the first place?

This is a great board..miss reading it and keeping up.. Been floundering.
Trying to get my head back together..towards losing.. I think some of my gain is PMS related but not sure because I hit a plateau 3-4 weeks ago I think.
Sounds like you all are doing well. I have pages to catch up on though.
I do the same thing when life gets busy or hard.... I clam up and avoid cc because I want to let myself be miserable.
BUT -- it doesn't work (for me...)
Reach out -- I am posotive we would all be supportive and help as best we could to get you back to positive. My TTOM made me gain --14-- lbs. I am still up almost 10 today.... Scary what the bod can do...

Yeah - some of the weight gain is real I am afraid..went through a phase of drinking quite a bit, not working out...so I cant really tell how much is TTOM because I dont think it is due until the 26th but sometimes I gain earlier than other times.
When you gained 14 how many days before or was it during???
Olivia- I know exactly what you aer saying- I think everybody has experienced that- glad you feel better....
Zena- If you don't mind, I am going to butt in :) but you really aren't far off from that 157 (I know it is disappointing, boy do I know) but getting back on track and out of that phase (something I myself am working on) You will be back there in no time :)
Also, I gain and get emotional and feel icky about 2 weeks before TTOM....
