you only have to keep up with yourself, vitamin!!!  ( ;

dj--what is poutine? ~~curiousity~~

way to go, thinthought!!!!   what is the new work out?

I copied this from my journal because another cc bud asked about getting up early too or getting motivated to go after a long day at work.  Things that help me besides the journal below.   Put my shoes and socks in the place you usually plop instead of working out --i.e. for me, my computer chair.   Take your gym bag to work, so you vcan change there and go straight to the gym if that's what you do.....   I am ok with working out in the morning because I am also totally OK with putting my wet from the shower hair in a pony tail and running out the door.  I try to make my round trip jog and shower happen in an an hour, maybe a little less.  That way I only have to get up " a little early."  Remember that every little bit helps, so even if you only walk and only for 20 minutes, it's better than nothing.  It is WAY COOLER and nice in the morning vs. the afternoon after work = motivation for me to get it done!!!!

JOURNAL PASTE:  tamar asked me somewhat jokingly how I make myself get up and run or make myself run after a long day of work.   I really can't say except this  ----  I spent my whole life rationalizing why it was ok for me to have that extra hot dog or scoop of ice cream, why it was pointless for me to exercise, why is was ridiculous for ME to change when obviously it was the rest of the world that was screwed up.   I just got tired of making excuses for myself one day......   I began to see how I was not changing for other people, but I was changing for ME, because I love MYSELF.    I saw how easy it could be if I just tried a little ----  to shop smart in the first place, so that a salad was the easier snack vs, pizza bites, how just freaking walking for 30 minutes made my body so much happier, how WATER (LOTS OF IT) and green tea made me feel better than soda or coffee or booze....     OK< so that's the philosophical side of how it is for me.....  The real reality of the physical part???   I can NEVER go back to sleep after I wake up to an alarm, SO ----  I might as well get up!!!!!   PLUS for me, once I do somethign a few days in a row it truly does become a habit.   My body wakes up for me without an alarm after a few days, so I might as well take advantage of all the benefits of running in the much cooler early morning!

(sorry -- long!!!)

I was wondering what poutine was too :) But if it is too good, maybe I don't want to know :)

Well, I had been focusing on jogging and I had said it before, but felt like I needed to add weights... so I did... I am starting with 20 minutes of cardio (yesterday was jogging) and then I found a total body workout from Women's Health magazine- a quick way to work all body parts, so I don't have an excuse of- "I don't have enough time".  I photocopied the pictures and instructions- shrunk down the size so I get the basics of it (I have a bad memory Laughing) and kind of went through them like notecards- easy to carry and easy to view, plus it is there in front of me, so I am less tempted to skip stuff or forget...

Thanks Olivia for the tips- Unfortunately I have a problem with falling back to sleep while hitting snooze Embarassed, but I used to have troubles getting up at 7, I am now up around 6:30- for work, so once I get going I can probably manage it...

Maybe I need a reward to get me started (I mean other than the physical rewards)- any suggestions?

I am not a girlie girl, but I love getting new (cute/smaller) workout tops and pants.  WalMart has good ones now -- "dri-more" with built in bras for lounging pjs when not being used for jogging.  Manicure or pedicure?   (I never have mine done, but I do buy new polish sometimes...)   How about   -----  DUH

Back up -- sorry, ang.   UM--  you said non-physical.....I was doing non-food, not non-physical.

REWARD:   seeing the muscles in your (ok, MY) formerly flat butt become round and mucular.

(like that????)  help me out and I will try to do better......  ( :    (blush)

olivia and thinthought- Poutine is french fries smothered in cheese and gravy- a Canadian invention. Very good but not good for you!

 I ran for 50 minutes in the rain today. Then I sat in the ran while my son played soccer. BRRRR!!!! gonna make tea and get warm.

YUM -- immom --- sounds digusting and delicious at the same time....   ( ;

good for you for all the rainy activity, but dang, get warmed up!

Have good Hump Days ladies!!!

my goals:

eat my plan

drink water

don't eat at my desk

take breaks through the day (otherwise I end up working 11 hours straight)

move around more

do something aerobic

I thought the same thing about the poutines, sounds disgusting, but delicious...

Yeah for running in the rain! That sounds like a tough run.

Medipower- I use filling up on water as an excuse to walk around, when it is empty I take the long way to the fountain to fill up :) so two in one... (plus the potty breaksLaughing)

Oliv- I was thinking something along the lines of- when I go to bed, I go to bed thinking : "if I get up early tomorrow and get moving, after wards (or sometime in the day) I get to _____" so that when I wake up i think ooh, i get to ___, but only if i get up now!" Something to get me through the first days and then when I go longer periods of time I can reward myself with nice stuff like clothes, manicures and seeing muscles :)

157.6

one week of not counting, drinking, and binges.........

zenasavvy...is 157.6 your current weight?  if so, i'm going to ride your coat-tail to this 10 lb. weight loss.  i'm currently at 158.8 (i'm 5'7") and my first goal is 145 lbs.  i'm definitely going to work hard at reaching 148 by july 4th...so let's push each other to make this happen!!

poutine is gross for sure... melty cheese curds and gravy... but man does it smell good. Luckily I don't eat beef so it helps when trying to avoid things like gravy sometimes ;)

I'm sure we'll be walking a lot, but I'll make sure to bring gym stuff in case I get the chance to run.. probably while he's sleeping. lol. I don't think we're staying anywhere with a gym sadly.

Day three and still going strong.  Cool  The hunger pangs and other not-so-civil disobediences my body's been putting me through in response to the calorie cutting have begun to die down, which is a huge relief.  The tricky part will be making sure I exercise while eating well.  I've always been able to do one or the other (for a few weeks at least), but this will be the first time I'll do both until I get down to my goal.

sounds like everyone is doing great!   ( ;

thinthought ---  gotcha.  any guilty pleasures you like?   like on summer break, I dvr Maury and watch it in 15 minutes without all the commercials.   "If I get up and run, I can sit after my shower with coffee/tea and laugh at all the crazies....."

I did much better drinking lots of water today, ate well and walked 30 minutes plus grocery shopping.  ( :

have fun on trip, dj!!!

vitamin --   I think, for me, it is WAY EASIER to do both the good eating and exercise.  My body understands the idea better I think.....

lose15now- yeah that is my current weight........but I gotta tell ya..it can flex up 5 or 6 pounds in one week

Having someone like you as a pal to keep me focused on the goal would be awesome

Huzzah!  1 lb down, 66 to go!

Way to go vitamin!

Olivia- the Maury would be fun :) Unfortunately, I have to be at work by 7:30, so it doesn't leave me a whole lot of time (unless I get up impossibly early).... maybe I will go get some fab smelling and a little more $ shampoo or or soap so I can look forward to the shower after the am workout... I'll try that...

my kids are crazy! They thought they were having fun. Jared on one side(leg and arm) Bailey on the other side. Lexi's legs and arms. Apparently, when they lifted Lexi, her elbow was dislocated. We just got home from the ER. Doc just twisted and popped it back where it's supposed to be. Luckily she was only in pain when she tried to move it. A little sore but almost all better.

No exercise today. Couldn't go running cause I didn't have a sitter. I'm just to bagged now to get on my elliptical. Oh well, I'll get back on track tomorrow. Not expecting a loss for weigh in tomorrow.

thinthought -- great idea!!!!   or an awesome body lotion or perfume maybe....   I love the shampoo idea though....

I expect no loss either immom ---with TTOM and all the stress this week, I will be happy if I stayed the same.  Next week though ---- I will prevail!

I am eating right, exercising daily and drinking lots of water.

WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!    (as you all can!)   ( ;

Lexi woke up smiling. No pain. Well not yet anyway, she is still kinda sleepy.

As expected, I'm up .5. I'm not trilled about it but I'm ok with it. 162 is still way lower than I've been in a very very long time.

Hope your weigh in was more successful than mine

Have a good day!

133.3

I have a reception to go to tonight for the bear exhibit grand opening.  I will drink two beers and 1 plate of goodies.  The rest of the weekend I will eat 1200 calories then eat 1200-1400 calories the rest of the week.  I will make it to 132....I will make it to 125!!!!!

Have a beary good day,

Kim

Hi Girls,

What a bummer..........I'm up 1 # 6 ounces from last Friday's weigh in.  :(  I've had graduation and birthday parties these past several days though.  I did eat wisely, and I'm doing 90 minutes - 2 hrs Cardio ( Dance ) everyday too!  But that has increased my appetite a little and my calories have been up a few hundred the past several days.  I'll have to work harder this week, after one last graduation party this weekend!  Have a great weekend!  Talk to you all later.
