Sounds like you're doing well :) Summer is just around the corner, we can do it!

I just got back in last night... and I didn't gain anything! WHOHOOOO! In fact the scale was down a lb from when I left.

I am AMAZED... because I drank a lot... and ate some pretty damn good food. I  guess walking everywhere really saved my butt!
I bought some cute new clothes in montreal & toronto... a couple dresses that are def motivation because they are short!! I'm not the biggest fan of my legs, but I will wear these this summer darn it!!

damn straight, djkitten!!!   ( :    good for you!!  I was amazed when I came home the same weight from Vegas/LA -- who does that?    woo hoo for cute dresses too ---  you look great!

I went grocery shopping instead of running today(It was to hot). It's so much easier without the kids. I wanted all the bad stuff sooooo bad. I picked up chips- then put 'em back. Brownies...Mmmm-I put 'em back. Cookies, pretzels, granola bars(covered in chocolate)! I put 'em all back!!!!! Yay me! All I bought was veggies, fruit. chicken for dinner today and bread.

YellNow after my son's temper tantrum over doing his homework( I'm talkin major meltdown) I want chocolate! I realy realy want it. I have to put the kids to bed so I can't go get some. I guess thats a good thing.

Another weekend is almost here, the days just fly by!  Last weekend I had my last graduation party to attend.  Oh my what good food!   I have to admit I ate too much.  "That's the most I've seen you eat in a long time!," I heard from one person.  And everyone kept looking at my plate!  :O  It was full of pasta and potato salads and baked beans.  :) 

I did skip the bread, meat and dessert however, so I guess I did ok.  I drank my usual water.  But I went back for seconds and heaped my plate up again, lol.  Come Monday I was up exactly 2 pounds.  Grrrrrrrr  It took me til today to lose those 2 lbs too.  I've been doing cardio/dance 2 - 3 hours everyday the past several days.  Of course that makes me eat more too.  Darn.  But those 2 lbs are back off so I am very happy. 

Today I had lunch with an old friend, but had some sort of oriental salad with fat free dressing.  I left the bread stick.  :)  I drank water.  We ordered one piece of cake for dessert to split.  I only ate 1/3 of the piece of  cake.  ( I'm so proud of myself! )  Then I came home and did 2 hours of cardio/dance! 

I-Mom: I constantly pick up stuff, put it in my cart, then take it back to the shelf too, lol.

KA: London?! Wow!  Please tell us about the food possibilites when you get back!  I can't wait to hear.  :)

DJ: I can definitely agree that the more walking you do, the better.  Especially pushing a heavy grocery cart around the store and then out to your car. :)

Zena: Yes, the same thing happened to me.  I went off my diet ( I like to refer to the word diet as "lifestyle change," and in three months I'd gained back 12 pounds........so I can definitely relate!  It sure doesn't take long to put it back on........but it's soooo hard to take it off.  :(  Talk to everyone tomorrow when we weigh in!  Good luck!

160.4 today   I can live with that  (I was over 165 earlier in the week) Maybe by next week I can get back to where I was.

Up 1lb from last week. I don't get it. All week my deficits were between 450 and 1000. My sodium was lower this week than ever.

I don't get it!!!!!Cry It feels like I've been stuck forever and I don't like. I won't quit but I really really feel like it.

immom... good job in the grocery store :) I'm the worst for shopping on an empty stomach.  I went to the store this morning after running 9k and no breakie and all I wanted was bad stuff! I got cherries, cantaloupe, mini carrots and some raisin bread... oops. I think it'll be ok if I spread it out over the work day, my polar said I burnt 830 calories on the run.

robin-congrats on your grad! I think a little "cheat" or day off keeps us all sane in the long run ;)

So my weigh in this morning was 169.4... I am DETERMINED to stay on the good side of 170 now... but the weekend is here = bigger challenge!

Hi Girls,

I weigh just 4 ounces less than I did last Friday, but I'll take it, I guess.  I'm 94.4 pounds.   I'm 4 pounds 4 ounces from my goal now.  I've lost 26 pounds since January.  I started out at 120.6 on January 1st. 

  After several years of yo yo dieting, I think,  I think,  I think I can FINALLY make it to my goal and maintain this time.  In fact I'm going to say I KNOW I can, because I'll be darned if I'll go through this again.  This is darn hard work losing weight!!  I-Mom, please don't quit, hang in there.  I've had to pick myself back up so many times.  I know how you feel, believe me I really do!

All you girls just hang in there,  cuz I'm cheering all of you on! I'll pop back in a little later and let you know some of the great things I'm discovering about health and fitness.  :)  I've been reading everything I can get my hands on, taking notes and have even started putting valuable information in binders for reference! Friday - 131.5 .....finally.....I actually typed in 133.5 because I have been that for so long....no longer.....now I have to keep this ball rolling down hill.

205 lbs today, ie about 57-59 lbs lost (i do not have an exact numer of my starting weight). back to my very lowest weight, and on the road to a better future:)))

Hi Girls,

Hooray for Kim and Puppykisses!  I'm up four ounces today.  :(  I thought I was done with barbeque's at least for a while, but who was I kidding?  Father's Day!  But I did ok, better than I did last weekend at a graduation barbeque, that's for sure.  I didn't go overboard on salads.  I did not go back for seconds either.  :) 

I ate 1/2 of a hotdog, 1/2 of a hamburger, 1/3 to 1/2 cup portions of potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans and fruit salad.  And 1/2 of a brownie.  :)  I drank my usual bottled water.  I'm sure not a red meat fan, or hotdog fan either.  But I do love chicken, turkey, pork and fish.

As I mentioned I have been doing lots of reading, researching diet and health on the internet and at the local library.  I'm enjoying some exercise books right now with illustrations and good sensible information too.  Several Denise Austin books.  I've never read her books til now, and she is great!  Hard to believe she is 51?!  She looks so fit and healthy.

I'm reading " Jump Start, " " Pilates For Everybody, " " Fit and Fabulous After 40, " and " Sculpt Your Body With Balls And Bands." All by Denise Austin.  I did purchase one of her exercise DVD's but her personality didn't come through quite that way in her books, lol.  She's just too perky for me!  I'm not sure I could get used to her DVD's, but since her books are so great, I  may give her DVD's a shot too. 

I'm also reading " Total Health Makeover" by Marilu Henner.  ( I just can't do that conscious food combining though! )  I prefer to eat BALANCED,  but balance my food groups out throughout the day.  :)  I am enjoying her  thoughts and idea's, and some of the food combining makes sense, all of it is just not for me though. 

I'm reading "Strength Training For Women, " by Joan Pagano.  Love that book!  And  I am reading my first Atkin's book, " Atkins For LIfe, " by Robert C. Atkins. I'm studying his controlled carb program.  Most every book is into controlled carbs these days. 

Well that's about it for now.  Need to get in a couple hours of cardio/dance today to burn off those barbeque calories, lol.  Hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day weekend, and will have a great week as well.  Good luck this week!

Hey guys. Ive been feeling really stuck. So this weekend I ate maintenance. Down 1lbs from Friday?! What ever, wait and see.

Going running this afternoon. Yay!

Also this weekend, I decided to give my X bf another try. We've been split for about a month. Not sure that's the best idea. But again, wait and see.

 

Update: I went running and it sucked! My 64+oz of water today did me no good. Started stumbling 10 minutes in. My hands started swelling up 20 minutes in.(they are almost back to normal now) I don't know if I'll ever be able to run in the heat!Frown

sorry the jog was tough, mom, and giid luck with the ex.  ( :   both will get better/easier.  (?) 

hope all of you are well and happy.  Having a tough day so far myself, but it's only just begun, so wish me lots of luck. 

hey everyone -  long time no talk to.  [sorry about that].  i missed my weigh in the other day, but i did weigh in this morning at 158.8.  unfortunately, i have the flu right now and can't do much of anything.  i haven't been eating that much, but when i do eat something, it's just plain ol' junk food, or should i say comfort food.  urggh!!!  i haven't worked out at all in over a week, although, i did spend a few hours in the pool on father's day playing games with the kids.  i should get some credit for that, right?  smile.

anyway, i'm going to try and at least drink some water today, since tea is the only thing i've been drinking for the last day and a half.  i did eat some organic quick oats this morning and i'm wanting to eat some junk food now...actually, i'm sitting at my kitchen table working today and minding my own business but this darn piece of cake keeps staring at me!!! i wish it would leave me the heck alone.  who cares that it looks moist and fluffy with my favorite icing all over it...i'm sure if i eat it, a big fat bug will pop out, which is exactly why i'm going to cover the cake dish with a dish towel.  phew..that was a close one!  hee-hee.

anyway, we only have a little more than 2.5 weeks left to reach our 10 lb. weight loss goal.  i'm not going to give up, but i'm also not going to beat myself up if i don't lose the complete 10 lbs.  heck, if i can lose 5 or 6 lbs, i'll be thrilled.  anywho...enough blabbing...  just thought i'd check in to let you guys know that i'm still around and i'm still trying to focus on our goal by july 4th.

(one more thing...i was cleaning our basement out and found some old, and i mean some old "booty" shorts...for those of you who aren't familiar with booty shorts, they are the shorts that are so short they show part of your booty.  anyway, i think they were a size 6 and i've been a size 12 for the last 9/10 years.  so, my husband saw them and died laughing...not because they were so short, but because i tried to squeeze in to them.  boy was it a sight.  i say all of this to say...those booty shorts are now hanging in my closet with a bunch of stickys that read: "Goal Shorts".  hearing my husband laugh at me trying to squeeze back in to those shorts was incentive enough!!!  when i lose this weight and wear these shorts to his parents house for sunday dinner, we'll see who will be laughing then.  ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!)

Hey Girls!  Count me in too!   I want to lose 10 lbs,  I have been struggling with my weight for some time.  I was called THICK and CHUNKY this past week and I am having big issues with that.  :(

sounds like everybody is doing well.

I have been MIA, stupid me, didn't want to admit that I fell off the bandwagon- just when I should have been on here the most.... Needless to say, I am frustrated with myself, but I have to stop that so I can move on... today is a new day and it will be a good one- I am determined :)

 

Those of you who have heart rate monitors- do you feel that they are a big motivator? And which are good ones to get?

Hi Girls,

I had a very bad day yesterday.  It started when I looked in the mirror and noticed my neck looked a little scrawny. :O( Overnight I noticed a slight sag right in the throat area.  Then I noticed I could see the veins on my wrists..............THEN I figured out why the back of my leg has been hurting, a varicose vein.  Grrrrrrr! Not that the varicose vein has anything to do with weight loss.  It's always been there, just a little bit more prominent now, darn.

 All the sudden I did not feel too well.  I panicked just a tad thinking that maybe I'd lost too much weight.   As of today I am 25 pounds lighter than I was January 1st. I suddenly felt that I DID look like I had lost a tremendous amount of weight since winter.   So I ate and DID I ever eat yesterday, lol. 

I was up a pound this morning and I think I look a little better today.  :)  I am 95 pounds at 5 foot zero, and think I will just stop and maintain right where I am at.  But work on toning up.  As I said, I have some great books I have been reading.

Angela, I purchased a Heart Rate Watch at Wal-Mart and just love it!  It was under $ 30.00 and it works great.  I've been wearing it when I do my cardio/dance.  I wish I'd gotten one earlier, they are great! Knowing your heart rate is the best way to gauge the intensity of your workout, ( as the box the watch comes in states ) :)  Have a great day girls, and eat healthy!
