Woohoo! Go Sagittarians! You'd think with as brazen and ballsy as we are, this weight loss thing would be a piece O' piss. Alas, it's our love for the good things that keeps us on the treadmill! ;-) I'm glad I have a birthday sis on here! P.S. How do you get those cool weight tracker thingys? I want one!!!
Krrpt,

I love your resilence ok ok I will try to have nothing that contains HFCS,sugar in the first 5 ingredients. Also mostly whole grains! I do have to have atleast a spoonful of sugar in my Kashi Oatmeal.
yay for those who are down a pound or few.  ( :   WOO HOO!

I will do my best to have only one meal (or none) a day with limited carbs/sugar.   (not talking fruit, right?)

I told everyone if they gave me Easter candy I would rip their nipples off = I got none to worry about.  Cadbury eggs are the devil....  I know they are gross, but I love them.....

I think it was val who said candy made her ravenous.  ME TOO.  I scarf it all down and then 10 minute later I am hungrier....   and an hour later, and do you want "good" things??  NO, you want more crap.   I like the fudgesicles (35) and the sugar free jello puddings, I am ok without the real stuff anymore....

I did great eating so far, will jog 3.5 miles when I get home ,and then I have doggie classes, so probably not on again tonight.

Make good choices!   See you for our first weigh in tomorrow.....

I told my bf what the deal was and he said "Yeah! Let's do it!" I was like, "You're doing this with me?!" and he said "Hell yeah!"

It was actually my husband who motivated me in the first place!  He hit an all time high of 265 last year and it freaked him out (along with turning 39) and since then he is now down to 215.  Since I couldn't let him weigh less than me, it is what really kicked me into gear. :)  If he wasn't watching what he ate, I really doubt that I would have been either.  Its funny how much you can feed off of each other.

katie- I love being a Sagittarius! I love being a people person and relatively laid back ;) I didn't know my tracker was showing! I actually just messed around with it.. can't remember the website.. anyone? and then I copied the address into my profile.. when I go to my profile I never see it :(

amaresmom- don't get me wrong... it is NOT easy to avoid that devilish product! but try :) I still have things with HFCS in it.. mostly just salad dressing... I have a tsp of sugar in my oatmeal too :)

olivia- yeah, I'm talking BAD CARBS.. ritz crackers, white bread, white pasta, all that crap... and PROCESSED OR ADDED sugar.. fruits are still a go :) I have about 4 servings of fruit a day... lol.. and I had ONE cadbury egg this Easter season :) I promise, just one! and it was me that said I was ravenous after sweets ;) never fails.. I'm scarfing something down an hour after having a cookie... good job with the eating! I'll be doing my weightlifting here shortly...

anje- yeah.. my bf is finally kind of showing interest in eating better... as long as he's trying :) I can't really tolerate people that complain about things and do nothing about them.. which he was doing and I got mad.. lol

see you all again tomorrow for our *first* weigh-in!

you guys are already doing awesome!! :)

I am graduating from college on May 18th and I would love love to lose 10 lbs by then-Im 123 right now- but, I have to admit, I dont want to give up on the fun we will be having till our graduation. Any advice? It sucks for me cause all my friends are thin and eat whatever they want or eat whatever they want and it just doesnt bother them that they are a little heavy. I lost a lot of weight last year but I was barely eating so I could use some help!

krrpt (STACEY!)  I will get it right eventually....  I just have the hardest time remembering what I wanted to say in response to everyone's questions, advice, tips, responses, that I am lucky I get one sentence out.  I really do need a notebook to keep track!

we have way too much in common . "my bf is finally kind of showing interest in eating better... as long as he's trying :) I can't really tolerate people that complain about things and do nothing about them.. which he was doing and I got mad.."  <-- yours too???   He bitches and moans his pants don;t fit, he's miserable, but he never does anything.   I finally popped off one day with get bigger f-ing pants!!!  He looked at me, all hurt, and I said, I love you no matter what, but either stop complaining OR DO SOMETHING.  like stop drinking beer....   I stopped buying diet soda and he flipped.  I said drink water. He whined.  Gosh ===  nah, it;s not THAT bad, but close.  He just moves at his own speed ---  he always comes around eventually....   ( :   Gotta love boys!

I can stick to the limited bad carbs for sure then .  I love me some apples.  ( :

I am pretty sure after my low this morning, I will be back up a little today, but I started at 184, so ok....   See you bright and early to weigh in.

edited to add -- I did jog hard, but it was SO WINDY and SO HOT, I only did 2.5 instead of 3.5.  I felt like I was not moving at all at times b/c the wind was pushing me so hard.
Hey ladies,

I just finished my 1 mile in house walk with Leslie Sansone I am feeling good I may even do some lifting tonight I wanted to wait until I felt ready next week but today was a good day! I haven't checked my cals yet but I know I was good.

My husband kept saying "if you are unhappy with your weight do something about it" as if it was no big deal HAH! now that he has started to see me doing better he is taking the smallest steps I have ever seen LOL he has now cut out his late night snack, and eating smaller portions of the same damn horrible foods. He thinks all he has to do is workout and the fat will fall off. I can't wait until he really sees what a committment it really is. And how important healthy eating really is. So I am still working on him wish me luck. I will be more excited at next weeks weigh in this is just a week for me and it ttotm so good luck to you all. I will still post in the AM.

amaresmom!!!!    (the crowd cheers)   keep on the old man to get fit with you   ( :

dang it, it's good for us.......that's my now forever motto! well, close.  I got myself out the door to run one day by saying, "because it;s good for me...." over and over.  lol  it was spring break, I was a little hungover....  but it worked.  it;s the truth.  tell him it;s for your sons =P and you and him and come on - xoxxoxo  boys are so naive. huh>?? losing weight is always so much easier for him if he would just try....my stubborn J....

anje - I am with you in that it was my bf that started motivating me!  He went from around 240 to 210 and I had always been the healthier person so it made me realise I had to get my act together.  The thing that ends up working best for us though is to kind of ignore what the other person eats.  I tend to eat 3-5 meals throughout the day he generally just eats one huge meal and maybe a snack. For a few years we had a bad influence on eachother and he would eat a small meal with me earlier in the day and then we would both have a big meal for a late dinner so we just both ate a lot more!  Now we just try to stick to what works best for us individually.

ANYONE UP FOR A MINI CHALLENGE?
No bad carbs (wheat product that is not 100% whole grain) or processed sugars (ie.. chocolate... lol) for the next 8 weeks??

___

Wow! that doesn't sound like a MINI challange to me!  I could maybe do it for a day or 2 but I love chocolate and carbs.   I usually have 1-2 mini-chocolates a day.

GOOD LUCK to all weighing in tomorrow!

So, I got home from work and my amazing bf, John, tells me that for me to stick to this goal I need an exercise bike....and that he was going to buy me one next week!!! He has one and he loves it and he knows I love spinning classes, although there aren't any here and I can't afford to pay for them, so he is getting me a bike!!!!!! And he is going to do it with me. That just makes me feel so lucky! I have had abusive relationships my whole life, so it's nice to be in a supportive and loving relationship. I'm gonna make babies with him one day.....!Innocent (Look at my gallery if you wanna a peek)

Had a spinach salad with chicken and french onion soup. I finally have some $$ so I am off to the store for fruits and healthy yummies. Good luck on weigh in tomorrow! Even if the #'s not what I want, I am still not gonna let it get me down!

I will have to peek at your John as I have my own!

How many boyfriends named John are there?   I know of at least one more here.  ( :

I went to my first doggie training class tonight.  I showed with Sugar, and......er, I was supposed to come alone.....  (BLUSH)  but it was ok....   Actually Sugar did awesome.  She whined a tiny little in 1 1/2 hours, farted a few times (seriously stinky), and she did a great job when the trainer lady Donna used her as a demo dummy.  I was actually really proud.  (see my dog and John in gallery--LOL)

Here's to making a change --  I am feeling good tonight!

Wow jogging 3.5 miles...wish I could do that

So far so good :) I ran the same distance (1.5 miles) as I ran on Monday again yesterday, and it was a little easier. I also went the opposite direction, as the uphills are a little longer and less steep than going the way I did the first time. It helped. Same route though :) Ive also danced twice (ahh rehearsals) and my friend has promised to drag me to total body conditioning (aka total butt kicking) every week- even using the smallest weights I know Im going to be the good kind of hit-by-a-truck sore in the morning :) I think Fridays will be a rest day :)

I have my dance show this weekend so Ill be doing a lot of dancing- plus theres a saturday cycling class and Sunday Im taking a master class from Jazz dance master Joel Hall (exiciting!) So I wont have to run again this week (In my opinion, the less running and the more dancing the better )

As far as food goes Im doing well! I went a TINY bit over yesterday, but thats ok cos Im a tiny bit under today and I exercized.... alot.... today. In a "I feel wonderful" sort of way.

I did decide, that as my nutrition grade is at a pretty solid b+ every day so far that Im not going to worry so much as what I eat, as the only choices I have are what my cafeteria at school serves (OHHHHH Sodexho that we call SAGA- if I ever say that I mean food place lol) So if I dont like the option of the day i have... pasta... as a choice or a salad but I just cant eat salad for every meal. So I have to just do my best with what I have :)

But Im doing good.

Weigh in tomorrow!

I had a good day too!  Even with a bag of ranch doritos!  I usually don't eat junk food, really guys, i just had limited options for lunch ;)

*raises hand*  I have a Jon, only less letters!

as for the mini challenge - 8 weeks is a major challenge for me no matter what I would be cutting out, but I am going to do the processed sugar part with you all.  Well trying my best really!

Okay I am getting really exciting for the weigh in tomorrow. :) I doubt I will see a change right now but its going to be a great starting point I think.

krrpt -- On having one Cadburry egg, for me the easter candy  I look forward to are the peanut butter eggs and this year they ended up melting in the easter eggs as we finished watching Enchanted before having the kids go get the eggs.  So I had to go to the store for the last minute dinner things and I ended up buying a bag of peanut butter cups.  I was so mad at myself afterwards but I can say all I ended up eating was one!  The rest are still in my pantry and I haven't even had the desire to go dig them out.

Olivia -- That is awesome that you are willing to job at all, let alone battling wind!  That had to count for at least a double workout more than normal!

Amares- What your husband said mine would say to me but then he would go out and bring home Mcdonalds.  Honestly without him trying to eat healthier I would still be complaining and not really trying to do anything.

Mich - Yeah I do agree you have to do it each on your own.  As long as we both agree to eat healthier but him his way and me mine we are both happy.  When we start in on well I do this and what not we tend to get into arguments.  Its easier to just compare notes and just encourage each other to do what is best for us.

Kpersons -- Woohoo on the bike!  That is an awesome gift and what a great bf. :)  He is sounding like a keeper. :)

mishellie -- Good luck this weekend at your dance show.  That is cool and I agree dancing is better than just running...except when you have no rhythm or coordination like me, lol!!

Oh and it really hit me right now how triply bad my choice of those nachos was.  Not only horrid calories, not only did it not really taste that good anyways, but it also made me blow the challenge for today already!  Ugh!!  So tomorrow I start fresh and keep reminding myself how bad those processed carbs are!

Talk to you guys in the morning with my numbers!!

Can I join? Here are my stats... Age 25 Height 5'1.5" SW 125 CW 123.5 GW 109ish

good morning everyone! guess what I'm eating right now.. oatmeal with NO ADDED SUGAR!! just plain old oats, lots o'raisins and cinnamon :) go me!

weigh-in: 138.2 down from yesterday but didn't make my weekly goal of 137 :( but that's ok :D next week's goal will be <137 :) I thought I did everything right this week too... ah well...

I forgot to mention one WAY BAD CARB that I'm just not willing to give up yet.. beer ;) sorry... I work 40+ hours a week, go to school 12-16 hours a week and do homework ~12 hours a week.. I need a beer just putting that in writing :) boyfriend?? i have a boyfriend too?? lol... if we didn't live together we would never see each other... ever :P

My boyfriend's name is Andy and I'd like to make babies with him one day too :) There is a picture of us in my profile :)

cmcar- you'll have to figure out what your priorities are :) you only graduate once (be it college or hs) so enjoy your time right now :) I'd say try to maintain through this and really focus on losing weight post-graduation. Start making small changes now... eat a little better; exercise a little more :P start eating foods that your body will use and you won't have to barely eat. Get lots of nutrients and your body will love you for it :)

olivia- no biggie :) I just scroll down all the posts as I respond... makes it a little easier :) yeah, Andy was doing the whole; are my shirts shrinking or is it me? thing... lol... I told him, just jump on the elliptical for 30 minutes a day.. he did it once and admitted how hard it actually was... but hasn't done it again... he "doesn't have time" and I know he is on a tight time budget, but aren't we all? If it's really that important, he'll make a better effort... he told me he's just going to try to start eating better.. and he said he'd try wheat bread!! happy dance! he has been anti-wheat bread since he was born... lol.. I'm going to buy him some mild non-100% whole wheat b/c if tries mine he'll just spit it out... lol, And good job with the jog! one time I was riding my bike home from work in 24mph wind... holy crap was that hard.. it took me a little over an hour to get home when it usually takes 45 minutes.. 15 minutes is a lot of extra time! yay for the doggie training! sounds like a surprise success!!

amaresmom- good job with the walk! I'm learning that men needs lots of little baby steps... lol..

mich- I think we decided to go minimal carbs/sugar... there are a lot of yummy things that none of us want to give up quite yet... so :) just try cutting back just a tad :) pick one thing you think you can live without for 8 weeks and go for it!

katie- HOORAY! that is so awesome!!!! my number on the scale isn't what I wanted to see but oh well.. I know I'm doing good things for my body and I feel good!

mishellie- sounds like you got in a good day! keep up the great work!

lemntwist- pick up some luna bars this weekend to stash at work for next time that happens :) or something other than doritos ;) nice job trying to cut processed sugar! there are a few GREAT articles in my women's health magazine this month and one is talking about cutting sugars... it said that your body will be "detoxified" in 5 days... the first 3 SUCK, SUCK, SUCK and it continued to say to be prepared to be cranky and irritable.. but your body will be happier without it :) I don't think I can totally nix sugar from my diet quite yet... I'm going to try my coffee this morning with a little extra creamer and no sugar... I'll post later on the results :)

anje- I used to LOVE white chocolate bunnies... got my last one last year and it lasted about 6 months.. one little bunny had 450 calories in it! uh.. no thanks.. lol... good job stashing the candy and keeping it there! that takes some willpower! :D it's ok... one day of nachos aren't going to kill you :) just don't start eating them for breakfast every day ;) and if those are the only carbs you had, you didn't blow it! you had your limited amount!!

hi devotchka! I don't see why you can't join :) welcome aboard!

I realized something last night... I got out of the shower noticing that I don't put lotion on what used to be my uber dry legs... they were so dry that they would get itchy and red sometimes... then *lightbulb* it's probably b/c I drink so much water! Hooray! I finally get to physically see a benefit from drinking water ALL THE TIME!! lol... that was exciting for me :) and now I can save $$ on lotion :)

take care all! I'll be on later today....
