(I have a couple of mini-challenges with best cc buds that ARE helping break the plateau I have been on for 6 weeks -- the bad carbs things here, workout before snacking (50 somethings), and my sweet caro -- challenged me, no booze though the week. IT'S WORKING)

I'm weighing in at 150.8! My challenge start weight was 152 (GW 142) so I am super excited. i was having such a hard time getting under 152 I am so excited to finally have gotten moving again! thanks for all the extra motivation!
I will be over the moon if I can break into the 140's for the next weigh in! This weekend is looking to be snowy/rainy...again...so that's a bummer. I reallllly want to go out for a long hike so I can't wait for all the snow to finally melt! For all those in 50 degree or more weather - be sure to enjoy the outdoors for me!
Hay everyone - weigh in today - 157 so not lost anything this week but as I only started on Wed I will let myself off and hope for the next week.
So impressed by everyones posts. Bit more difficult for me as I am in the UK so am way behind/infrount of everyone. Plus I only have the internet at work so no messaging at night or over the weekend.

mich --- you know we had an ice storm this winter that left me off school for 4 days in one week. I found walking or jogging on that (as long as I was careful and walked in the grass where I had traction ---) was an AWESOME workout. Extra resistance etc, kind of like my jog in the Mary Poppins wind yesterday.....
Bring it on --- we applaud all losses and stay positiuve if it did not move as much as you want. This is something I like to call "the long haul" --- isn;t that what it is really all about? ( :
I am not weighing in until Wednesday next week. This has been the longest I've stayed off the scale, but I've been on track totally. I am so excited to see the results on Wednesday. I am hoping to be under 175... That would be an accomplishment for me. Wish me luck, I just gotta stay on track this weekend!

Although I am still 220lbs I am in a great mood today. I still have ttotm so I know when she goes away I will be atleast 4lbs smaller so tue/wed I will post again. I realized I got up early just so I could read this post! I am luvin it!
this weekend will be a challenge in itself for me because my wonderful husband and I are hosting a Wrestle Mania party. I know it sucks but he and my son enjoy it so this I will let them have. After oh so many Sex and the City parties what could I say :) Anyway I have been asked to cook baked chicken(ok) Macaroni and cheese (not ok) cabbage(ok) cornbread(not ok) Stuffing(not ok) and my friends are bringing rice/bean Spanish style with fried chicken(not ok) SO I AM REALLY GOING TO BE TESTING MY WILL POWER. But guess what, I am looking forward to the challenge. I will have some baked chicken and cabbage. I can't wait to start losing some weight!!

Ok. So, I weighed in. Not what I was hoping, but at the same time, totally not surprised because I start my period this weekend. I ALWAYS gain about 8-10 pounds during this time. It's like physics. Univeral and constant. Bleck.
Anyway, last night I promised myself I wouldn't get upset.
So, this morning I am back to 237. But, if we take into account the "physics" constant, that means once I get this period weight off I should be around 229-231, which would be great. I was 231 at the doc's, so that would mean I hadn't lost or gained, which I am ok with. If I am less than that, HURRAH! After I weighed, I decided to measure. I was thinking, "I AM going to go to work with a postive frame of mind." I picked up my measuring tape and measured myself. And although I weighed in at 237....
I am DOWN 2.5 inches from last week's measurements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

I was effin THRILLED! And in all the right places: my hips, lower tummy (these are my HUGEST problem areas), my ribcage, my right leg, and bust.
So, I think I have done well! And those 2.5 inches came off even though I really didn't watch my diet this week because I was broke and had NO grocery $$.
Next week I plan to have lost some pounds too!
Here is a curiosity question for all: has anyone GAINED a cup size while losing weight? I have gone from a C to a D. It's not my body's MO to gain weight in the boob area as I am a pear and it all goes to my ass and lower tummy, but my boobs are freaking huge! I had to buy a new bra last night! It's pretty and black and lacy!
I was just wondering though. Have you 30+ ladies noticed a change like that in your bodies? I am gearing up for 30 and just wondered if you have some weird influx of boob hormones that comes rushing in? John, of course, thinks it's the most amazing thing ever. ![]()

Not quite TTOM for me but almost..its the day I wake up and feel like I must have an extra pound on my "chest"...sore and swollen. (Way TMI...lol)
All that being said, I weighed in at 166.6 lbs. I had been stuck at 167 for 2 days and now I am encouraged to have dropped even at this part of the monthly cycle.

Yesterday I was 145 and today back to 143. Can't argue!
wow i have a lot of catching up to do! You guys are doing so good. My kids have been with their dad since tuesday so no excuse for not running( I've used my treadmill twice though) I miss my babies, that should motivate me to get out and run. anyway they will be home on sunday. I weighed in @170(darn cheese burger!) yesteday was 169! was 171.5 last week so either way i'll take it.

Okay only have a minute before I rush everyone to school and myself off to work (once at work I can properly respond) but for now here is my weigh in: 191.5. SW was 192 so I will take that 1/2 lb! What I really need to do is take my measurments cause I swear some areas feel smaller. I took them like 3 weeks ago so its about time to try again. :) Anyways gotta get the slowpokes going but I will post more later!

kpersons --- rock the heck on! Inches lost always amazes me.... Running added muscles I never knew were under tha flab, so it was hard going for a while numberwise, but now I seem to have gotten ahold of everything again.

I was 142.6 last monday, today 140.6! Lost 2 lbs! I've seriously never done that so maybe it will bounce back up... or hopefully not! Just one more till I am back to my low in January.
Stacy - Okay so no refined sugar - does that mean I can't have maple syrup - like the real maple syrup? Oh yeah I'm with you on the beer thing too :)
Olivia - that is amazing - you rock! that same kinda happened to me when I plateaued. I stayed good, even tho no scale progress then just lost it all and ended up pretty much where I would've been if I had been losing steadily. I think it's just a way for our bodies to test us and say 'let's just see if she will still eat well and exercise even if I don't give up one freakin pound! ha ha!'.
Heather - i feel you - breaking into the next digits is so exciting - you will make it to the 140s for sure! I'm in Socal and we have 70s all weekend, so I will try and get outside this weekend! I am studying like a mad woman for a big test which is 2 weeks away, so i feel kinda locked in my house.
kpearsons - lucky you! umm no i have def not gained boobage while dieting, enjoy it, lol! with 2.5 inches gone you should see a change in the scale for sure!
hmm... I think maple sugar would be ok.. I guess I'm talking more about adding sugar to things that really don't need sugar, or stuff like candies, cookies, cakes.. etc... how do you guys want to go about this? I'm thinkin just follow the "minimal" sugar rule :)
I had hazelnut coffee this morning with chocolate creamer... no added sugar! I know, I know, the creamer probably had a lot of sugar, but I certainly didn't need to add anymore!

I'm sorry but there is NO WAY I could drink coffee black. John does it occasionally (he's Irish so he kills lots of little tea bags instead), but I just can't do it. Have to have either flavoured coffee with regular cream or vice versa. Double cream is the ULTIMATE!!! Our European ladies know what I am on about. Double cream is like thick sin in a carton dying to engulf your coffee. How I miss it!
How does everyone do with soda? I have cut down tremendously since being on my low sodium diet, but I am wondering. Do you splurge and have a diet soda every once and awhile or do you do the real thing?
I have found the most amazing cheap food ever. Buy a box of Zatarin's black beans and rice, multi-grain tortillas, Dannon nonfat yogurt, and low fat cheese. Cook the beans and rice and mix in the yogurt and cheese. Put in tortilla and eat. Make sure all is nice and warm and gooey. It is delish! AND! about 450 calories with like 12g of fiber! My new favourite!
