Weight Loss

Sorry if this offends anyone, but people use the word "loose" incorrectly on the CC forum all the time. Here is the correct usage:

"I want to LOSE weight."

"I have LOOSE skin after losing all that weight."

Here is a more authoritative example if you are still skeptical.

Hopefully at least one person learns from this. It would make my day.

The greatest debate on c-c almost 100 threads on topic alone.  Blame it on the English language, the words are just to close together in spelling and after a while you learn to ignore it.
suelto vs perder
sciolto vs perdere
loose vs perdre
lose vs verlieren

You are not alone.  Many times lurking on this site, I have wanted to post a reply pointing that out, so thank you mds86 for making this thread. I, too, hope people will learn from this. :)

I am a grammar Nazi as well.  Bugs the heck out of me when things are spelled incorrectly.  Ah well, hopefully they will learn.

YES! YES! YES! I'm so glad its not just me.. It drives me mad

grammar nazis UNITE!!! :D :D :D

thank you!

Drives me nuts too!!

Hey it's not just on THIS forum - it's all over the place.  I HATE it and bite my darn tongue whenever I see it.  Yep.  I'm a grammar freak.

If you can't say it correctly, then shut up.  Cool

LoL, I love this! Laughing

Just to use this as a place to vent on the English language.  I HATE when people say "Heighth"  Every frickin person I know uses this word.  It is not a word!!!!

Width, length, height!

Okay, I feel a bit better now.

The misuse of "too" and "to" drives me nutty.  I've also spoken with people that insist that "tooken" is a word and that makes me want to punch them in the face lol.

Add me to the Grammar/Spelling Nazi Club as well.  Just as bad are the people who write forum posts "as f they r sending txt msgs."

This use of loose for lose has been driving me crazy for quite some time,  but as I was once accused of being prickly about something on one of these forums, I thought I'd better not start up with correct word usage issues . . .

This debate has raged on and on for at least as long as I've been coming here and probably before then as well.  I really don't think it will ever change unless people start proofreading before they hit that "Post Reply" button.  I know that I often don't see typos until after I've posted.  I've just learned to ignore it and read it as if it were spelled correctly.  That has helped me save my own sanity.

I despise even reading an actual text written like this.  Seriously.  My texts are twice as long as everyone's that I receive, but I'm not concerned, at least they're written in English and spelled correctly.

3rd! I'll try but after a sentence or two, I'm just done and can't take anymore!

You're/your GRRR!!!

too/to GRRR!!

They're/their/there BIG FAT GRRR!!!

BTW I am clearly not a Capitalization Nazi. ;)
