How do you lose the love handles??

Hello all and i appreciate anyone who reads this and gives me feedback on this topic. I have stubborn love handles and i want to learn how to lose them. Im 5'11 218 and I would like to know any cardio any excercises any info will be much appreciated..thank you!

Hi there. I am also 5ft 11" so I know what you mean... You cannot spot burn fat, it comes off from all over. I went from 180 lbs to 136/137 lbs and I still have love handles even with my BMI at 19/19.1. At 218 lbs your BMI seems to be 30.4 so your weight loss should hopefully be quite steady and even all over - not just from your hips. As long as you consume less calories than you use, you'll lose weight. Exercise wise? Anything that gets your heart pumping faster than normal really. Spinning is fantastic for this as you'll use up lots of energy/calories to aid your weight loss. Good luck.

Thank you so much Nelly, thats crazy that you still have love handles and you lost 40 pounds(congrats by the way)!!!! Oh well i guess its all up to my body lol

I used to have pretty bad love handles and I thought they'd never go away and I was just stuck with them. However once I started loosing weight in general from diet and exercise the fat there started to disappear and now I'm a jean size smaller AND there's no flap hanging over. Cardio is a major fat burner so to get rid of the flab start with that and then you can do specific exercises to tone your obliques and sides as part of your core routine. If you do too much weight on these though they might make the muscles around your love handles bigger than you want.

I used to have fairly big love handles, but thankfully, they were some of the first spots I lost from. Like it has already been said, you cannot, unfortunately, spot burn fat. But when I'm doing them, I really feel like doing squats and lunges might be helping out a bit. Also, hula-hoopping on the Wii Fit really works out that area! But, if you keep losing weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, those areas will diminish eventually ... the hard part is just being patient, and not giving up! Good luck!!!

You cannot loose just your love handles. It is about all over fat and weight loss. Fat loss mostly. You an be at an ideal weight and still have too much body fat. It is about cleaning up your diet, counting your calories and loosing fat. The best thing as far as exercise goes that aids in fat loss it heavy hard lifting and HIIT and Interval training. Those plus diet are the key.

You have to be patient my brotha. Your body loses fat all over so you are good. Just keep exercising/working out!
