100+ Pounds to Lose---we can do it!! Monday weigh ins. (start 1/7/08)
Hey Everyone,
Well, here is it, a new challenge for those looking to lose 100+ pounds. I would like for everyone who is a first time poster to give a little introduction of themselves (include height, weight, age and anything else you would like)!
I'm hoping that this challenge can not only look at how we're doing in terms of numbers, but serve as a way to motivate eachother. If you had an extremely challenging week, let us know. If you found an awesome exercise or healthy snack food, let us know. If you have anything, good or bad, that helped (or hurt) your weight loss (and overall health for the week), let us know!!
I'm figuring the weekly template can be something like:
Starting weight/date: XXXXX lbs XXXXXX (for me, 298 lbs 12/18/07)
Weight last weight in: XXXXXX lbs
Weight this week: XXXXXX lbs
and then list challenges, good, bad, etc. afterwards.
I would love to say I would do points and keep a tally, but honestly, I know it will be tough to keep up with everyone's TERRIFIC progress!! Hopefully we can all take a look at this and celebrate everyone's successes together.
Our first weigh in will be January 7, 2008. Feel free to join whenever you like and give your introduction :-)
Let's do this together!!!
:-)

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen and I just found this site a few days ago.
Starting weight 264. I will add the rest of the categories next week.
I have been trying to lose weight for a long time, and sometimes I succeeded, but then I would stop whatever it was I was doing and would gain it all back. This time I am motivated to keep going until I reach my goal weight. I think all the support on this site will help me as well. I'm looking forward to "meeting" you all and hopefully we can help each other through this difficult process!

Well, not the MOST encouraging loss ever... but I guess if I'm honest, I had a couple cheat days, and in stead of doing my usual cardio-intensive workout every day, I just went outside and walked 3 of the 5 days this week because it was so warm out. I tried running on Thursday... bad news, lol. Barely made it 1/4 of a mile before I was totally winded. Oh well, will try again when it warms up a bit more.

It's only half of a pound, but I'll take it (especially since I was up to 217 by the weekend).
Congratulations to everyone who lost weight--especially to ohbehave007! I can't wait until I'm under 200lbs.
Paula, if you get desperate for fizz, you can mix whatever flavor juice concentrate you like with sparkling water to make your own sparkling juice. It's still a hefty dose of sugar, but at least you get a fair number of nutrients and is weird-chemical-free.
Another up week this week. But that's what I get for getting drunk and losing control all weekend. Oh well, we're onto a new week now so back to the grind...
Starting weight 290
Last weigh in 276
This week 278
Up two lbs but we'll get that off this week for certain...
Hello everyone - new to CC last Wed. and found your post today. I am 37 YO female with 4 children. Like many, I "used" to be active and pretty fit in my younger days. As the years went on - I no longer was in sports, my job is an office job so very little activity there, you have kids and well . . I pretty much let myself go. I have NO full length mirrors in my house and like many mothers you don't take pictures of yourself . . you take pictures of your kids. I always new I was getting large - but never paid much mind - was always busy with this or that. Last year we were on a family vacation and my teenage daughter snapped a picture of me on the beach (without me realizing of course!) Anyway when I got the pictures back I cried. I couldn't believe what I looked like. I was ashamed of how I looked and couldn't believe it had gotten that bad. I knew I couldn't just "diet" I knew that I had to make a lifestyle change - and I have, slowly but it's getting there "baby steps" right? Anyway I have really good weeks an some bad ones too - A big struggle I have is the lack of support. If there is anyone out there that would like to be "friends" I could really use them.
So, that is my "story" and here are my details.
37 YO - 5'9" medium to large build
Starting weight/date: 280 (Sept. 2, 2007)
Weight last weight in: 272 lbs (2-4-08)
Weight this week: 274 (TOM) lbs
The statistics say my "normal" weight for height/structure is like 156. Personally right now I would be happy to be UNDER 200 and be able to walk into most stores and find something that fits. I am tired of having no selection of clothing and wearing "grandma attire" when I'm not in my 40's yet (Please take no offense anyone) Anyway that is my story - if anyone like to be a "friend" please let me know - I'm in it for the long haul.
Short term goal - Haven't exactly decided, but was very athletic in HS and my 20 year reunion is this summer - ):
Struggles: Pop - Mt. Dew to be exact - lack of physical activity
Accomplishments: Bought an elliptical machine this weekend - was able to only go 2 mintues at a time (uugh) but did it every day so far (3 days) for 3-2minute sessions each day (Just because I can't go very long doesn't mean I can't do a couple of sessions right?. By the end of the week - I want to be able to go 3 minute sessions.
