100+ Pounds to Lose---we can do it!! Monday weigh ins. (start 1/7/08)

Hey Everyone,

Well, here is it, a new challenge for those looking to lose 100+ pounds.  I would like for everyone who is a first time poster to give a little introduction of themselves (include height, weight, age and anything else you would like)!

I'm hoping that this challenge can not only look at how we're doing in terms of numbers, but serve as a way to motivate eachother.  If you had an extremely challenging week, let us know.  If you found an awesome exercise or healthy snack food, let us know.  If you have anything, good or bad, that helped (or hurt) your weight loss (and overall health for the week), let us know!!

I'm figuring the weekly template can be something like:

Starting weight/date: XXXXX lbs XXXXXX (for me, 298 lbs 12/18/07)

Weight last weight in: XXXXXX lbs

Weight this week: XXXXXX lbs

and then list challenges, good, bad, etc. afterwards. 

I would love to say I would do points and keep a tally, but honestly, I know it will be tough to keep up with everyone's TERRIFIC progress!! Hopefully we can all take a look at this and celebrate everyone's successes together.

Our first weigh in will be January 7, 2008.  Feel free to join whenever you like and give your introduction :-)

Hey guys! I wasn't able to post last week because work is sooooo busy right now and having Grad school at the same time is kicking my tail! But I'm back this week!!!

Last weigh in: 316.0

Weight this week: 315.0  

 

1 lb. I'll take it! I'll take whatever I can get! I'm thinking about going to try out for the Biggest Loser on Saturday. I'm not sure if any of you are fans of that show, but if so...wish me luck!! My husband & I are going and I'd really love the chance to be able to train with Bob or Jillian. (Who wouldn't?!?) So, any good luck vibes or prayers you can send would be great!!! Thanks guys and keep up the great work you are all doing!!

 

 

Hello everyone! I was out of town most of yesterday, so wasn't able to post.

Starting weight: 265.5

Weight last week: 262

Weight this week: 260

This week I am glad I lost anything at all because I wasn't counting calories as diligently, and some of my food choices weren't the best, but I was exercising, so that probably saved me. This week I will be back on track.

Starting weight/date: 246 lbs 01/08/08

Weight last weight in: 237.4 lbs 02/11/08

Weight this week: ---

Loss this week: ---

Loss total: 8.6 lbs

I'm NOT doing it, lol... TTOM, and this week was a baddd one for me lol.  Valentines Day I had pasta... Saturday and Sunday I was bad when my family came to visit... pizza and cake!  And yesterday, my day off, I lounged around and ate all day *ugh*.  So I guess you could say I have some scale-phobia right now lol.  The next few days I gotta work my butt off in the gym to get rid of this excess!!!  I'm hoping to be at 236 or less by next weigh in.

Not the best week ever, considering I went out to eat quite a bit over the weekend... including a buffet... AHHH!
I have a bad feeling the next 2 weeks aren't going to be so great either... leaving for Florida (2 day drive) on Thursday which means lots of fast food stops and eating out most of the time while I'm down there... eek.... wish me luck!

I should send you this spreadsheet my friend gave me... it's listed a few fast food places, and at each one, it lists low-cal, low-fat food choices  (she's on Alli, so we both kinda take tips for each other on food).

MacDonalds:  grilled chicken sandwich (420 cal), grilled snack wrap with ranch (270), almost all the salads are 300 or less with chicken, except the southwest, fruit n yogurt parfait (160), apple dippers (35) w/ caramel (70), reduced fat vanilla cone (150)...  stay away from the McFlurries (560) and the Triple Thick shakes (420+).

Chick Fil-A: Chicken Sandwich (410), Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich (270), the wraps are 410-480, fruit cup (50), Icedream (240).

Those are just the first 2 places and a small selection of the foods.  But if you find yourself frequenting fast food joints - go to their website and list out the foods and their nutrition info.  Plan for yourself ahead and stick to things that are under 500 cals and 15 grams of fat (or whatever, those are just my numbers lol).

Trust me, I know what it's like to be on the run.  I'm a full-time employee and student as well and it gets hectic.  It just takes more planning ahead.  I lay out all my food/meals for the day the night before and put them all in a bag in the fridge.  If I'm going out for lunch, I cut back on my "snack" foods and mostly pack fruits and veggies.  You just gotta find what works for you!

Hi everybody!  Can't believe it's been almost a month since I posted last.  I'd been on a business trip, and thought I was getting back on track...

Jeremy, I lost my grandma too recently (Jan 31st) - hope you're doing ok.  That's part of the reason I wasn't posting - things got turned a bit upside down at home as a result, and then after being out of work for a week it's taken me until just now to get re-organized there.

Great losses everyone - I'm really motivated by all of you!

I'll wait until Monday to weigh in.  I think I've figured out the trick to standing on the scale so that it doesn't give an accurate reading, and haven't truely weighed myself for a while now.  (took a bit to realize that I haven't stalled at 300, I was well more than that and I'm just now getting back towards it - we'll see if I can face the truth and really weigh myself tomorrow morning!)

TTOM this week along with some emotion-based food decisions over the weekend.  I am glad to be starting a new week on my new and improved "normal" way of eating.  Y'all have a great week!

I had a rough week last week.  I am deffinately an emotional eater and moreso with negative emotions.  I'm learnin that I need to learn new ways of dealing with that though or I'm never going to get smaller and healthier.  I predict good things for me this week!

I know I am a couple days late, but I actually have my weight from Monday, was just trying not to post it, wasnt happy with it.

Starting Weight(Feb 04): 280

Weight lost total(3 weeks): 12.4

Like I said, not to happy with gaining .2 back so I delayed posting, but I weighed myself this morning (I know I shouldnt have but I have been trying really hard to off set that .2 gain) and was at 261.0 so I figured it wasnt as big a deal. Challenges: Grandmother's funeral/wake, and family being in town led to peer pressure eating.

Thanks goes out to knitchick for the support, I am sorry for your loss as well, hope you are doing better.

I'm just starting to get back into my "good" habits.  I started this week higher than when I started the challenge, so I didn't bother to post.  Then I read Jeremy's post that he was puting up Monday's weight today, and I figure I'll do the same.  At least it will give me something recent to compare to on Monday!

Weight this week: 305 lbs

So far, looks like good numbers for next week.  All depends on how I manage to do this weekend.  I finally got the treadmill unburdened, and found out that my idea of watching DVDs on my laptop while walking on the tread mill won't work - the two different places I came up with to put the laptop won't safely support it.  I'll have to come up with something - it faces a blank wall and there's no way I can deal with staring at that for very long!!
