100+ Pounds to Lose---we can do it!! Monday weigh ins. (start 1/7/08)
Hey Everyone,
Well, here is it, a new challenge for those looking to lose 100+ pounds. I would like for everyone who is a first time poster to give a little introduction of themselves (include height, weight, age and anything else you would like)!
I'm hoping that this challenge can not only look at how we're doing in terms of numbers, but serve as a way to motivate eachother. If you had an extremely challenging week, let us know. If you found an awesome exercise or healthy snack food, let us know. If you have anything, good or bad, that helped (or hurt) your weight loss (and overall health for the week), let us know!!
I'm figuring the weekly template can be something like:
Starting weight/date: XXXXX lbs XXXXXX (for me, 298 lbs 12/18/07)
Weight last weight in: XXXXXX lbs
Weight this week: XXXXXX lbs
and then list challenges, good, bad, etc. afterwards.
I would love to say I would do points and keep a tally, but honestly, I know it will be tough to keep up with everyone's TERRIFIC progress!! Hopefully we can all take a look at this and celebrate everyone's successes together.
Our first weigh in will be January 7, 2008. Feel free to join whenever you like and give your introduction :-)
Let's do this together!!!
:-)
El
okay, I'm a day late, but here goes:
Starting weight on Jan 7, 'o8 - 232lbs
Last weigh in ( 2 weeks ago-last week was ttom) - 206 lbs
This week - 201
Two week loss - 5 lbs
Total lost: 31 lbs
This is amazing considering I have been out of work sick due to a Lupus flare, my grandmother is in end stage cancer, and I am in the middle of a major career change that I start next week. Amazingly enough, I have been able to stick to my diet and have found that being able to control that aspect of my life gives me comfort since everything else seems crazy and out of my control at the moment.
I have gone from a tight fitting size 18 to a comfortable size 12 ( work pants, not jeans...jeans I am in a slightly loose 14), and my much anticipated "under 200lb" goal is just on the horizon.....Yay!!!!!
Here is to staying strong and working our butts off (literally) to get where we want to be......go us!!!
Starting weight/date: 305 lbs/September 2007
Weight last weight: 246 lbs
Weight this week: 240 lbs
Weight lost this week: 6 lbs
Total lost so far: 65 lbs
Well, my Dallas "bloat" is gone and I feel so much better! I Am happy for everyone - it really takes such a commitment to a new lifestyle. I will confine my splurges to smaller portions of good things from now on - the overeating was my old life and it didn't fulfill me like it used to... Thank goodness for that!
Ok i am a day late. but anyways here it goes.
Starting weight (2/23/2007)
Weight last weigh in (Mar. 24) 249.0
Weight this week (April 1) 247.3
Weight loss this week 1.7
Total loss 7.1
OK I did a little better this week than the past few weeks. It seems like everyone elses weight is coming off a lot fast than mine, all these people losing 5-7 pounds in one week, and I am loosing .5-1.5 a week. Now thats not right. Now I know that most of these people are exercising more than I am, I would if i could find some exercises i can do. Since I had my son I have had really bad back problems, and just about everything I have tried hurts. I do walk but probably not as much as I should. Now that it is getting warmer, I am going to start walking more, because I can go outside and walk the dog for longer periods of time. I have one of those exercise band things but I am not sure of any exercises that I can do with it. If anyone knows of any I would appreciate the help. And also of anyone knows any low impact exercises that would help strengthen my back and not hurt it (and help lose weight) I would GREATLY appreciate that. Well glad to hear everyone is doing well.
A little late.. sorry!

Well let's see if I can stay involved in this room. I have a tendancy to forget anything except my stargate site. I blame it on being over 40, lack of memory. ![]()
My name is Karin and I am 49 years old. I will be 50 on December 31st. And I am so disappointed with myself I can't see straight.
Current weight 266
Height 5'9
The smallest I have ever been in my life was from 20 to 33. I kept my weight anywhere between 140 and 155. But in 93 I got fibromyalgia and boy did the weight pile on. I have battled with it and watched it slowly balloon to where it is now.
I have to loose 119 according to this site. I would be happy with 100. I am large framed and tall and can carry 170 lbs with no problem. But mainly I am concerned for my health. I take 14 medications daily and want to cut some out. I have 3 going on 4 grandchildren and want to play with them without being out of breath.
I started this diet/calorie watch on the 4th and have lost 4 lbs so far, but the hard part is going to be sticking with it. So hopefully I can make some friends and we can support each other.
My email is Scorpiorising58@hotmail.com if someone wants to contact me there. Just mention this site in the message box.
It's been awhile since I made an update, so I decided I would. I even made it on Monday for once ;). Anyway first an update on me personally and then I will go into my weight.
I have gotten my lactose problem under control and an now living bloat free...Yay. I have found an all organic and vegan store that has a ton of lactose free things.
Ok, now the weight...
Starting weight (January 4th): 212-215 lbs
Starting CC (January 20th): 208 lbs
Last Weigh in (Beinging of April): 198 lbs
Current Weight (April 14th): 193 lbs
Total lost (since CC): 15lbs!
I have also been keeping track of my measurements (since the 20th of March) because I find them more reliable and so far I have lost:
1.2in around the bust
2.4in under the bust
2.7in around natural waist
3.1in around belly button
3.2in around the hips
1.4in around upper thigh
0.3in around the calf
0.7in around upper arm
my wrist has stayed at 5.5 in since the beginning.

I treated myself to a x-cream shake at Burgerking yesterday to celebrate :)
Beginning of a new week and not a lb lost, but I am sticking to the food regime anywho. I lost 6lbs right off the bat and I figure that was water weight. Now we are going for the actual fat.
I do think this site is going to make it easier for me to keep track of my food.
Starting weight was 272
So weight today is still 266.
Let's hope for more next week. Or maybe I should go for bi monthly. Hmmm. We'll just have to see
Well I haven't posted in three weeks, but mainly because I was on a plateau and have just gotten off of it, finally. So here are my stats, though they are a day late.
Starting weight (2/23/2007): 254.4
Weight last weigh in (April 1): 247.3
Weight this week (April 15): 246.6
Weight loss: .7
Total loss: 7.8
Well not much loss but it is a loss.
It's so hard to want to stick with it, when you show little or no loss. And when you have a large amount to loose it makes it that much harder I think. I just have to keep telling myself it's for more than me. It's for my kids and grandkids.
Well another week has come and more pounds were lost.
Starting weight (CC): 208 lbs
Last Weigh in (April 14th): 193 lbs
Current Weight (April 21st): 189.2 lbs
Total loss: 18.8 lbs !
By next week I hope to have lost 1.2 more pounds to say I have lost at least 20 pounds!
Well I can't figure it out. Who goes on a platau the first couple weeks of a diet. I am eating right at 1300 calories. The first week I was eating only 800 - 900 calories and did nothing but make myself sick. So either my scales or wrong or my body isn't going to let any of this extra weight go. After 2 weeks I am still at 266.
Started at 272 and using this site daily
6 LB total loss to date.
266 as of April 22. I think I will just lay down and cry.
Would like to join this forum... is it to late????
Well here goes my name is Heather I am 30 years old and have struggled wiht my weight since highschool. I have tried many different diets and nothing seems to work. I fell like this is the time to make it work!!
Starting weight: 260 4/21-08
Height: 5'9
Goal weight: 150
Don't give up. I went on a platue from the end of febuary until the beginning of April. It was horrible. I was staying between 198 and 203. On bad days it would shoot up to 210.
What I did to break it was look at what I was eating, I cut out dairy (who knew I was lactose intolerent) I upped my calorie intake from 1200 aday to atleast 1500 a day and about twice a week I would eat my mantaince level of 2300.
After about a week of really watching everything I put in my body and logging ever single piece of food that I put into my body I saw the scale move and ever since the weight has flown off.
It's hard and it happens but you must stake it out.
-het158: Welcome to the group and good luck.
Could I join too please...

7 lbs in 24 days is great! That is about 2 lbs a week.
vanessagreen - Since you are a former body builder I don't think it will take you to long before you are at your goal weight.
Well this week is ttom so I am bloaty. I've been any where between 190 and 195 due to bloating. It's normal for me to bloat up to 10 lbs so yeah, goal for next week is 185:)
Good luck!
