100+ Pounds to Lose---we can do it!! Monday weigh ins. (start 1/7/08)

Hey Everyone,

Well, here is it, a new challenge for those looking to lose 100+ pounds.  I would like for everyone who is a first time poster to give a little introduction of themselves (include height, weight, age and anything else you would like)!

I'm hoping that this challenge can not only look at how we're doing in terms of numbers, but serve as a way to motivate eachother.  If you had an extremely challenging week, let us know.  If you found an awesome exercise or healthy snack food, let us know.  If you have anything, good or bad, that helped (or hurt) your weight loss (and overall health for the week), let us know!!

I'm figuring the weekly template can be something like:

Starting weight/date: XXXXX lbs XXXXXX (for me, 298 lbs 12/18/07)

Weight last weight in: XXXXXX lbs

Weight this week: XXXXXX lbs

and then list challenges, good, bad, etc. afterwards. 

I would love to say I would do points and keep a tally, but honestly, I know it will be tough to keep up with everyone's TERRIFIC progress!! Hopefully we can all take a look at this and celebrate everyone's successes together.

Our first weigh in will be January 7, 2008.  Feel free to join whenever you like and give your introduction :-)

Welcome to all of the new folks that have joined this thread and congrats to all of the success that everyone is having.  I'm glad to see that we are moving in the right direction and I hope that everyone reaches their goal... Great Job!

Yes I know I should eat 1200 atleast..that is what every thread/page/person has told me, and I don't get frustrated if I go up to 1200 or beoynd...I just try to keep it more 1000-1200, and I haven't been hungry. I usually eat 4 small meals..keeping my stomache fulfilled, and it's been working so far.  I will work on getting the 1200...I have been up and down all my life 145 my lowest weight (and with being almost 5-10 made me look small then)  I don't need to get that small...but 200 would be good for me. I tend to get a bit obsessed once I get started...with the counting and the weighing.. But I am tired of yo-yo-ing up and down and want to get to a weight I am comforatble with and maintain!   This website defiantly helps!!!!!

I am Hoping to look good. I am 40+ years old and as of today Jan.19,2008 I weigh 240 lbs. I am not a very active person, I have a thyroid condition that makes it even harder for me to lose weight. But, here I am trying again. I hope that we all are successful this year.

I weigh on Wednesdays but will post on Mondays.

It's Monday.  I made a lot of bad decisions this week when it came to food but I did get in all the exercise I had planed so I still saw the scales drop. I am very thankful for that!! I have been weighing everyday I think I am going to stop that it is a roller coaster ride. My weight varies by up to two pounds from one day to the next. I may have to invest in some new scales.

Starting weight: 237

This week: 229

Total: 8 lbs.

This week, 2 lb loss!

I've slowed considerably in the last month, so I'm soooo happy with this -- Plus it puts me right at 25# for the last 15 weeks.  Not a quick loss, but I'm hoping it will be lasting!

Hey guys. Time to weigh-in. So here goes....

So that is 4.4 lbs this week! I must admit, if I can loose weight this fast the entire time I'm working on it, it wouldn't be half bad!!

Starting weight:  232 lbs. September 1st

 Last weigh in 215 lbs

This week 216 lbs....

total weight lost 16 lbs

I gained a pound since last week, but I really upped the weights this week and muscle weighs more than fat....my clothes are fitting a lot better, so I am confident that even though the scale moved up a pound, I am still doing great.  Hopefully next week I will see a pound or two less....

Keep up the great work guys!!!!  We rock!!  :) 

Dani - we'll be thinking of you tomorrow with your angiogram - hope all goes well!

I was so excited this morning - got on the scale and it showed 299!  Under 300 and I lost a pound this week.  I was so happy.  Then I went to find my post from last week's weigh in.  I'd remembered last week's weight wrong - I lost 3 pounds, not 1.  Even better!!

Starting weight/date: 304 lbs 1/10/08

Weight last weight in: 302 lbs

Weight this week: 299 lbs

total loss: 5 lbs

Thanks for the suggestions about the scale.  If I stand on it just slightly differently it changes by 5+ pounds.  Didn't notice that when I was under 300 and hubby doesn't have that problem.  The box does say it's only accurate to 300 pounds.  I'm under 300 pounds now and I'm staying this way, so hopefully no issues now!

Although I would love to be losing 10 pounds a week (hahaha not possible, I know), I don't think this is too bad considering this weekend I went out for dinner twice (Friday and tonight) and I did eat a pretty good amount tonight with about 6 glasses of water.  I'm sure that has added an extra 2 or 3 pounds to the weight I just saw on the scale!

Everyone is doing such an awesome job!!  I'm glad everyone continues to check in!!!  Laughing

Loss -4.4 lbs. I'm pretty happy with the steady weight loss! Keep up the great work everyone!!! 

I started cc January 12, 2008 and was at 250 lbs.  I am 5'2 so I had about 127 lbs to lose.  My weight today is 238.8. By January 1,2009 I would like to be 145 and be 123 by March 23, 2009.

I was heavy as child soI have always struggled with a weight problem.  When I was in high school I weighed 115 lbs and I was happy there.  I am 40 years old now and I know that I will probably never see that again. My goal is 123.   I am committed to make this work for once and all.

Weight last weight in: 241.6 lbs 01/14/08

Weight this week: 239.6!

Loss so far:  6.4 lbs!  :-D 

I am so happy I am losing and I am feeling SO GOOD about myself!  My boyfriend came up last night, put a hand on each hip, gave a little squeeze and said "look at you, skinny", hehe it was just something little but it felt so good! 

I'm especially glad I managed to lose 2 lbs this week.  It was rough because it was that "time of the month" (lol sorry men!), and as of Friday it was only showing me at 241.4!  I also went home for my mother's birthday and the 3 day weekend, and went out for the first time on my diet - I was good and passed on the bread and butter, and got a chicken dish for dinner.  My little splurge for the night was about half a cup of risotto. And on Sunday, my mom made homemade lasagna and I was good and only took a few bites off my brother's plate hehe.  And while they all chowed down on birthday cake, I pulled a skinny cow ice cream sandwich out of the freezer and had that for about 1/3 of the calories, lol.

My only downside this week was that because of the extreme cold, I didn't get out to walk much.  I DID go outside and play with my grandpa's puppy a bit though :-)

This was a hard week for me, but a postive one!  With the weather I haven't been able to get outside and of course the gym is still packed - so the next best thing...wiped off the old Tae Bo DVD's (oh yeah, Billy Blanks baby) and it kicked my ass!  But I'm feeling good!  Glad everyone is doing so well - keep it up!!!

I am so happy for everyone here!!! I am amazed at all our successes! I want to congratulate everyone personally, but there are just too many people to congratulate. What a wonderful thing. You should all give yourselves a nice pat on the back, or even a hug, if you're particularly affectionate. :-)  Seriously, well done this week!

Yay! Come on, scale, keep showing those lower numbers for me. It's TTOM right now so I'm going to ignore the scale for the rest of the week (even if I can't help weighing for my own reference.)
