Here is a little help for remembering which is which:

You need to LOSE an O in loose in order to get Lose.

Also, loose is longer so, if it were a belt, it'd be loose.

Hope this helps!

I take it you've seen a lot of typos in posts! Wink

I know someone who says, "I have a good ideal. We should pacifically . . ."

I always want to say, "I have a better idea! We should atlantically. . ."Sealed

But I don't want to hurt them so I'm never a stinker enough to say it!

I do have to correct my mom though when she talks about Booger King!Laughing

I tease her that she doesn't like tomatoes or R's on her burgers!

LOL!

I know someone who says ideal instead of idea!!! But she was the bane of my existence, so I didn't feel bad about calling her out on it.

Yes, we should really "nip that in the butt!"

Hm, but that might effect them negatively.

Or how about people who say irregardless??  Drives me insaneYell  Unfortunately my boss says it so I just have to grit my teeth.

Oh no- worst one: EX-pecially.

Ex-pecially when they order Express-os. Shouldn't express-os be served faster?  Suppos-ably...

Irregardless, we shouldn't let this effect us alot, ect.

OMG, your mean.

And my answer: Your mean what?

Thank "God"!! I am not the only one who is driven half insane by the butchering of the English language.

Down here in Alabama people love to take trips to "walmark" vs walmart and they keep there clothes in a "chester drawers" not a chest of drawers.

The one I can't stand that I hear every day here in the hospital is the word "height" pronounced "heigh-th". Or "prostate cancer" as "proStrate". Or "Alzheimers" disease as "Old-timers".... Sheesh!

The OP's one of "loose" vs "lose" is on here all the time.

I ask you- Why people?? Why??

I have a friend who says a ton of words wrong. But she does it because she thinks it is cute. She has no idea how annoying it is.

Cupcakes - Cucakes

Picture - Pitcher

Mashed Potatoes - Mashatatoes

Supposedly - Supposably

the list goes on...drives me nuts.

Oh, and for all "intensive" purposes...

Good riddens, too.

My current peeve is people who don't understand the difference between every day and everyday.

People who speak English correctly are so illusive. Be right back, I'm going to go weight myself.

Whoa to those who don't speak correctly.

When I hear people say, "Dash Hound" for Dachshund, I want to throw my self under a moving train!

Everyone makes mistakes once and a while. The quality of English classes in the public school system is enough to curve my appetite.

LOL @ "whoa" and "intensive purposes"!

I don't know, it kind of wets my appetite!

Apparently, some people have an interior motive.
