very easy for your age if you stick at it. Dont go vegan... vegan are a bunch of hippies and they all die early. Just watch what you eat and do cardio hard 6 days at least 40 mins a day at least. You should be fine then.
^^ he got it on the money. very possible just watch what you eat. vegans are typicaly very unhealthy people (most of them look miserable to me ;p) a little bit of meat never killed anyone. but like everything always eat in a healthy moderation.

I say do what you're going to do in relation to diet - just stick to the key principals of getting the right balance of carbs, protein and fat. The main problem with a totally vegan diet is a lack of good proteins. But nuts, edamame, soy and tofu products usually have sufficient protein to help you out.
Make sure you do some weight training with that cardio. The build up of muscle may slow your weight gain but it will help you burn fat faster and benefit you in the long run.
20lbs in 7 weeks in almost 3lbs per week. Analyze whether this is too steep a goal for you. 3lbs is 10500 calories per week that you either need to burn or cut out of your diet. Look at your maintenance calories to determine if this is a reasonable, healthy goal for you.

The more weight you have to lose, the faster it usually comes off in the beginning. I would definitely say it's possible at your current stats. About the vegan thing....vegans eat no animal products what-so-ever like meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, gelatin, etc. When you say half vegan, do you mean that you will cut out red meat? I think it is more important to focus on eating natural, whole foods like fresh fruits, veggies, beans, nuts, whole grains and lean meats. Of course, you will need to accurately count calories, as well.
Of course, this guy is clearly wasting away from malnutrition ...
The key is to eat more healthy foods than unhealthy ones. Eating a salad instead of a cheeseburger could be considered opting for a vegan alternative, but it's also just making a healthier food choice. Fruits and veggies are low-cal and are also packed full of nutrition. The more of them you eat, the less foods of lower nutritional quality you'll have room for.
That said, 20 pounds in 7 weeks sounds a little extreme to me. It is possible, and different people's bodies react differently to calorie restriction, but I think it would be more realistic to aim for about 14 pounds in that time frame.
