i am desperate to lose weight!
I know that feeling.  I wish there was a quick fix that I knew of.  I was just going through other's profiles and seeing their progress and they make it sound so easy.  I feel like i'm doing something wrong because it's been a week and I am discouraged.

All I hear is "It's slow and study"  Ug, :(

i'm gonna try keeping track from today, of the foods that i eat and limiting my calorie intake to about 1300 a day. i'm glad i found this website. good luck to you!
you also! :)
lol bubbly, don't worry it's not easy. on people's profiles they often boast their successes in weight loss, which can make it seem like an easy game, but trust me, everyone here is in the same boat! it's a struggle but it's worth it.

try not to feel discouraged guys, you know you can do it. :)

good luck to you both!
why would you want to eat 8 pints of blueberries a day?! thats just crazy,i mean i love them but still....in the long run, crazy diets dont work,if you want to keep the weight off for good you have to follow a balanced diet with regular exercise.
If you want to eat 3216 calories in a day, go for it.  But you will probably feel sick, probably will get sick, and will probably never want to eat blueberries for the rest of your life if you stick do that diet for a day. You wont get all the nutrients that you need, and will gain weight from the calories...
I think eating regular foods and counting calories is a better idea

I agree!
Lose the desparation and make healthy changes a part of your life.

To answer your question - I think you would turn a funny color and have very sharp eyesight, and you would end up hating blueberries after about 3 days.
If I may pimp my own post...

Hiya Vicky,

I don't know if this post will help you lost weight as quickly as you'd like, BUT I can promise you that if you follow it, you CAN succesfully lose weight in a healthy manner. Check it out :)

Pssst... 8 pints of blueberries a day? That's alot of blueberries. I love blueberries and all, but lawl, I'd get bored of that quick!
You probably would be thin, but then you would have blue teeth. Blueberries stain your teeth more than any other substance on earth! Is it worth it? lol

You WOULD lose weight but you would likely have to enjoy your new body in the bathroom!!!

There is a heart attack diet that is meant for short term quick weight loss for people going in for heart surgery.  It's from the Alabama CArdiac Unit.  I will see if I can post it here.... yep, I can

CARDIAC UNIT OF THE BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA HOSPITAL 1ST DAY 2ND DAY 3RD DAY BREAKFAST BREAKFAST BREAKFAST black coffee/tea black coffee/tea black coffee/tea 1/2 grapefruit or juice 1 hard boiled egg 5 saltine crackers 1 slice toast 1 slice toast 1 slice cheddar cheese 1 tsp peanut butter 1/2 banana 1 small apple       LUNCH LUNCH LUNCH 1/2 cup tuna 1 cup cottage cheese 1 hard boiled egg 1 slice toast or cheese 1/2 cup tuna 1 slice toast coffee or tea 5 saltine crackers coffee or tea       DINNER DINNER DINNER 2 slices any meat 2 weiners fresh fish 1 cup string beans 1 cup broccoli or cabbage 1 cup beets or carrots 1 cup beets or carrots 1/2 cup carrots or turnips 1 cup cauliflower or greens 1 small apple 1/2 banana 1 cup cantaloupe or sm orange 1 cup vanilla ice cream 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream       This diet works as a chemcial breakdown and is proven to work!!! Do not vary or substitute any of the foods.  Salt and pepper may be used, but no other seasoning.  Drink all the water you want, however, no soft drinks of any kind.  This diet may be used 3 days at a time.  In three days you will lose 8 to 10 lbs.  After 3 days of dieting you can eat your usual food;  however, don't overeat.  After 4 days of normal eating, start back on your 3 day diet. This diet is used at Birmingham, Alabama Hospital Cardiac unit for patients who need to lose lots of weight in a hurry before havng sugery. (YOU CAN LOSE UP TO 40LBS PER MONTH)

EDIT(I posted from Excel and it's not looking so good)
I have a difficult time believing that a hospital would ever prescribe such a diet.

I have even more of a difficult time believing anyone could STICK to that diet.
I can see that being true...afterall, it IS from Alabama :-P
I know that was a serious question....but the first thing that came into my mind was Willy Wonka "Violet! You turning Violet!"  I would think the UmpaLumpas would have to take you straight to the juicing machine.  I do apologize, like I said I know it was a serious question.  I homeschool, so I'm home with my teenagers 24/7.  You have to have a good sense of humor for that!
I love blueberries but eating that only, even if it was healthy and got me all the nutrients I need I am pretty sure i would stop loving them rather quickly. I can't imagine eating the same thing over and over again.
2 for breakfast, 2 for lunch, and 2 for dinner is only 6 pints of blueberries. Not that I would suggest eating only 6 or 8 pints of blueberries, but just thought you should know.
hahahha. that'd be so gross! Wonder if things would come out all blue on the other end? :)

Honestly, though, that sounds like a really terrible weight loss plan--one you couldn't maintain for very long, one you'd get sick of quickly, not to mention that blueberry season is just about over so then you'd really be suck. Heh. Just eat healthy. There's a wide variety of healthy food out there that can help you lose weight and that won't bore you to tears. And won't you the risk of making your stool so smurfy. :)
Those folks in Alabama need to join the American Heart Association!  http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml? identifier=851

I've been through several cardio rehab programs over the years.  Even though I don't have coronary artery disease, we were all put into the same class.  I did this at the National Institutes for Health in Bethesda, MD, at our local hospital and at the University of Pennyslvania Hospital.

All of them reccomended a low fat high fiber diet.  All of them told us to eliminate refined and processed foods like saltines and weiners because they contain saturated fat and huge amounts of sodium.  All of them told us to give up caffeine.

So that Alabama diet is way off the mark.  I wonder who thought that up?
