Im 232 and My family vacation is coming up on July 16th and I wanna lose some weight so I dont look as bad as I do now.Anyone know how I can shead some pounds healthy but fast.

Losing weight fast isn't a great idea, but Atkins has pretty quick results. The first few pounds will be water weight, but if you continue on the diet it's all fat loss.

Just remember that if you start an Atkins-type diet, you'll be stuck on it. The moment you eat your carbs again, your body will start holding water and you'll regain really fast. People have to wean themselves back onto carbs slowly and gently.

It's better to lose slowly but I agree with the other post.  Atkins works pretty darn good.  If you read and understand the book you will see it's a lower carb diet not a 0 carb diet.  Good luck!

I say run if you can and if you can't, walk very fast. It is better than doing some fad diet. You can lose weight fairly quickly and gain health benefits.

because of the unhealthy way we have lived all our life..eating junk food and unhealthy foo, this should be done or can be part of a yearly routine...but make sure to know all the facts first before proceeding..

Meth and crack help.  Also, if you don't eat, and take up smoking.  If you add to this rigorous exercise and coffee without milk or sugar you'll be in the 2-3 pounds a day category for about oh... 5 days.  After that you'll probably die.

Another way to lose weight rapidly is to exercise daily and eat healthy balanced meals.  You won't lose NEARLY as fast - but you'll have more time to enjoy it.

I'm serious guys - come on.. the methcrack diet is real - it has proven results.

Omgoodness that is just plain scary. 

OP, I would hope that you would choose to rethink your rush to drop weight quickly.  Try instead to think of changing your lifestyle and reaching for a healthier one. 

We all have things we wish would happen instantaneously....like killer abs, a size whatever body etc....but truly it is more appreciated when you work for it. 

Rethink your mindset and go have a fabulous vacation.

Although I agree with the other posts it isnt great to lose weight quickly but if you feel the absolute need..stay close to nature in food choices..lots of fruits veggies and whole grains..lots of water and jogging and or power walking mixed with a little circuit training should get you going pretty quick..and is also good to continue on with these things as well to be overall healthier..afterall isnt that the main objective along with feeling good comes looking good!! What are bad carbs?

Bad carbohydrate foods are those that are not in their natural state. They have been refined and contain additive that make them tasty but most of the nutritional value has been removed. Bottom line, they are empty calories.

What are good carbs?

Food that contain carbs in their natural state.

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Beans
  • Legumes
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Whole grain breads
  • Whole grain cereals
  • Whole grain pastas
  • Some dairy products

Okay that lesson is over for today. Now to answer your question.

Meals like the following are low in bad carbs:

  • Cobb Salad
  • Taco Salad (Don't eat the tortilla bowl!)
  • Meat, Vegetable, and side salad
  • Spagetti sauce over Spaghetti squash

However, if like me you like your starches (carbs) then try the diet I'm currently using. (If you want to call it a diet.)

Ground Rules

  • Fruit alone or leave it alone.
  • Never mix protein foods with starch foods
  • Wait the minimum digestion time before eating a different food combination

Digestion Times

  • Fruits - 20 minutes
  • Salad and raw Vegetables - 2 hours
  • Starch and Vegetables - 3 hours
  • Protein and Vegetables - 4 hours

Weird coincidence, I was at 233.8 this morning and I'm also going on vacation, leaving on July 10th.  What are your stats? we might be similar, I'm 6' tall, male, 17, and 233.8 lbs.  I've dropped about 15 lbs so far, past 2 weeks, and I'm hoping to lose at least another 13.8 by the time I leave so that I'll be 220 lbs or under.  What I've been doing to lose weight pretty quickly is drinking lots of water and diet green tea, like a gallon a day, and eating either a healthy choice or a lean cuisine for every meal.  I've also been biking a couple miles a day on hilly terrain and doing the stair stepper for about 1400 steps a day (it seems like a large number but it only takes about 20 minutes)  It works pretty well, may not be the healthiest but it's healthier that being obese in my opinion.

 okay, this made me laugh quite hard. also reminded me of highschool when anyone i knew would lose a ton of weight almost impossibly fast and claim to be on a 'water diet'  (*cough*E*cough*). 
keeping weight off involves hard work, a quick fix may be good at the start but it'll all come right back once your body remembers what its like to get real food.

belive me, i'd love a quick fix. i'm lazy, i love junk food, but if it all comes back then its just discouraging.
