Where did you lose your weight first?

I'm approaching the 17 pound mark and I can really only see a difference on my back, fingers and face.    My shirts are fitting better, I just wish some of the weight would come off the front so I could see it.  I have heard that you first lose weight in the place that you gained it last. Has anyone ever heard that before?

I've heard that before and I don't think it's true.

I noticed in my boobs and butt first (yes, the places I don't want to lose).

And just because you can't notice anything at 17 pounds doesn't mean anything. Nobody (including myself) noticed I had lost 1 pound until I had lost 30 (I started at 220).

I've been at a plateau for a couple of months now and have gotten told over and over again that my face and stomach look smaller. This has made me decide that you can be losing weight and not notice, or not be losing and notice.

I've lost 20 lbs over the past 5 months. first to go was back fat and thighs. thighs thinned down and beefed up. then calves beefed up. then lost in face and ankles. my measurements show that i've lost in my arms and belly, but i dont see that so much, except that im down a size in pants. but i think my belly stays proportionately big, so even as i lose, its still big, and comparing it to my thighs, which are smaller, its hard to tell, i do notice the curves of belly fat are changing, for which i am very thankful. the measuring tape and my cloths fitting better are helpful reality checks. my butt looks smaller, but my measurements stay the same, so i think it must be a different shape now. i think i've probably lost fat and gained some muscle back there. since walking has been the activity i do most of, it makes sense to me that im seeing more change in my thighs, calves, and butt than other areas. those muscles are working more. 

i tend to lose, then maintain, lose then maintain, so this last round of maintenance, although i haven't been losing, my waist bands are all looser, my bra's are getting roomier, a couple i have to put on a different clasp, and so on. have had to shorten all the shoulder straps. i've probably lost a 1/8 to 1/4 inch everywhere in the past few weeks, but no drop on the scale. thats ok. its all movement in the correct direction.

sometimes i feel really out of proportion, but so far, as i stick with it the other parts kind of catch up. 

most people dont really notice, only a few. but i notice, and that makes all the difference. i feel better, i move better. i look better. i'm thankful. the effort really does pay off! 

I've lost ~5 pounds and I noticed it first in my wrists and ankles. I'm small framed and have always had tiny ankles until I gained weight ~15 pounds, so I was excited to notice something. Even when I was thinner, I always had a tummy and still do 8 pounds thinner. Don't notice a diff. there.

I think you do lose weight in the last place you gained because where  your body tends to store weight first is determined genetically, so it would make sense that you would lose weight first where your body didn't really want to store fat in the first place. Just watching my body i've noticed this.

Everyone is different and everyone stores weight in a diff place. So, I think if you're body is prone to storing weight in the tummy, it will be hardest to lose weight there.

definitely my breasts... urghhhh and my face, since I'm pear shape, I lost more in my upper body and still have (probably will always have) junk in the trunk...

I've only lost 5 so far, but I've noticed my shirts fitting better.  I still have a tummy (one of my problem areas), but it's not as bloated.  I can see a difference, my husband can see a difference, so it really keeps me going.  I really, really need it to come off my thighs.... ugh

I lost it first in my butt, thighs and stomach. I've also lost alot in my face.

I wish it would start coming off my arms haha. I have guy arms but oh dwell!

I've lost about 10 pounds so far and I definitely notice it in my wrists more than anything else.  I constantly find myself wrapping my thumb and middle finger around my forearm and they touch!  It's (embarrassingly) intriguing. Smile

I've heard the same thing too. I aways gain my weight in my gut and hips. So I lose a lot in my gut, and a little in my hips. Those are the places I lose first. The small places always go first. Finger's and face.. They really don't go first, those are the first places you start to really notice, because it's how you ring fits your finger, or how your glasses or shades fit your face.  We always notice the tiny places first, and then later on.. We notice the JEANS! OH YEAH!

I lost mine first in the butt and waist areas....the face gradually.

Around my upper body...I can see my ribs at 140lbs.

Like others mentioned...I lose first what I want to keep....my boobs :(  But it seems like everything I actually want to lose shortly follows.  My body's pretty proportioned, so I don't mind givin up a little in the bra to look better all over.

hmm Yes I have heard this before and It's true! I first lost weight on my boobs and my face then my butt, and those were the three places I didn't want to/didn't need to lose it. But now when I try to gain back a bit, as my chest/collarbones etc, and wrists are very thin, it goes to my tummy and thighs. Which I do not want or need! and it takes alot of weight gain for me to get my rosy cheeks back, but I cannot permit THAT much gain on the "rest of my body"

 

My butt has lost all of my 11 pounds I think, but I have lost a little bit all overall but most has come off my butt.

I tend to lose everywhere.  I noticed it in my face the first.  I take my measurements once a week though so I have noticed a loss consistently in my natural waist (mostly back fat I think) hips, and around my stomach where I measure at my navel. 

Where did I lose first?....that would have to be....

My boobs.

Went down a whole size!!!! :( So sad...why couldn't it have been my legs (very chunky).

i lost fat on my stomach first, then my bum,then my boobs, and now my arms...i wish my love handles and thighs would shape up more than anything else!

I always lose weight in my waist and thighs first, and my arms last. My breasts never really seem affected by weight loss, but I think that's because of birth control.
