Can you really lose weight with Nutrisystem?
Well, summer’s almost over, still can’t fit into my bikinis which is really a total drag, still want to do something about it but I’ve tried Jenny Craig and here I am, overweight again, can stand to lose 20 lbs.
A friend and I were going to do Nutrisystem, ads make it look really good, she ordered a lot of food first and bad surprise!! It’s totally rank, the cardboard probably tastes better, looks so tasty on the website, big lie.
Then I read about a meal replacement called NuLean, and the one thing they tell you to avoid, processed foods full of preservatives and crap, is what Nutrisystem and the other prepared foods are all about.
Gee, didn’t I get fat from eating too much fast food?? If anyone has any personal experience with NuLean give a shout want to hear about it before I try it, check out the site http://www.nulean-nutrisystem.com.
Thanks!!
Why not just do it with a balanced diet 500 calories under what you burn? It'd be a heck of a lot cheaper... and better for the long term as you'll learn good eating habits.
I agree. Take the money you're about to spend on Nulean or Nutrisystem or whatever and book yourself on a cookery course. ... or buy a mountain bike and go cycling every night... or both!
Thing is that losing weight isn't actually that difficult. Maintaining the loss (as you've found) is a little trickier. If you can cook simple, healthy meals and you get more exercise you can not only lose weight but keep it off for a lot longer. Win-win... and no nasty food parcels.
I third that - all those diet products are a total waste of money. For less money you could buy lovely fresh ingredients and cook real, healthy, tasty food. Or take a salsa class... or swimming lessons...
Using those crash-dieting products is not only expensive but you lack the nutrients from a real diet. In addition, you don't learn how to eat healthily, cook, portion control and exercise regularly - the key to staying lean for life. I suspect if you try another weight-loss shake you will only regain the weight; you won't have learned how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Also, once you come off the shakes you will have been so deprived of real food that you will want to eat everything in sight! That is how our bodies are programmed biologically - to react to famine situations (deprivation diets) by heightening our appetite and hunger sensations to encourage us to binge. Great for survival of the species, not so good for your waistline.
Avoid the drama and disappointment of yo-yo dieting and accept that good things take time - but if you take the time to do this properly, you'll only have to do it once.
Short answer - Yes, you can lose weight on nutrasystem or NuLean or any program you do, so long as there's a healthy calorie defecit.
Nulean doesn't look like a Nutrisystem-style meal replacement to me anyway? Because I went on the website you linked to and it looks like a colon cleanser to me, that you replace one meal a day with. Please look up the negative effects of colon cleansing before making a decision like that. (For example, for the first few weeks after a cleanse, you have to eat only specific foods to replenish the good bacteria in your colon. NO cheating, as the cleanse has stripped your system of its ability to deal with treats.)
This Nulean stuff looks like just another diet pill (even in shake form). You won't sustain long-term weight loss with a pill/shake with diet pill ingredients unless you plan to keep taking it forever. Try a healthy, natural diet with a 500-calorie defecit and your results may be slower, but they'll work. Without any possible side effects!
My grandma lost a ton of weight on Nutrisystem. I've considered going on it myself. The food looks really good.
From the commericals I saw, I always thought the food that Nutrisystem provided was too small so causing one to undereat and of course lose a lot of weight in the process. Not for me, thanks!
I wonder what this diet will teach you about proper nutrition?
This is a serious question you should ask yourself before starting any kind of fad diet.
Yes you can, I did it a couple months ago and lost about 7lbs in the first two weeks. Unforutnately, thats all I lasted! The food was TERRIBLE! (I only enjoyed the pizzas really..) and none of it needed to be refrigerated, which kinda grossed me out because some of them are MEAT packed in gravy and stuff, that just sit out 24-7, so you have to wonder what sort of chemicals must be in them to keep them from going bad!
Alot of it is powdered (like the soups, some pastas and cake) and you just add water, and they taste pretty gross! Trust me, they DO NOT look like they do in the tv comercials! lol
Bottom line, it works, but after two weeks I wanted to vomit at the thought of eating one of those meals!
