Now I HAVE to lose weight! (skydiving)
So, I am still pretty unsuccessful at the weight loss even though I have been attending the gym religiously for 8 weeks now. However, I need to lose it now.
I am going SKYDIVING!!!!!! I know I don't NEED to lose any weight to actually do it but I am being recorded and I want to look cute in my jumpsuit. This is a great opportunity (I actually won this as a prize at a charity raffle fundraiser) and I want to look my best. However, I am looking at doing it in May or June. Better kick my booty into gear!
I am so excited!!! Anyone ever been and any helpful hints?
Oh, I will be tandem skydiving, by the way.
Have you seen those suits? they're huge and flappy.. no one will notice your figure anyway ; )
Have fun!
Haha, but all the harnesses strapped to you, they are kind of...'form-fitting' so bulging certainly shows. Haha.
Eh, screw it. I am going this Saturday, I can't wait!
I went (tandem as well) just two weeks ago, and it was AWESOME!!
The only problem is that you might love it so much you want to keep on going until you are qualified to jump solo, because that's what happened to me.
Unfortunately I am a student so it'll be awhile before I get the whole way there, but I'm going again this summer and I hope to go every few months until I graduate and can go all the time.
Awesome story! Thanks for the link. I really enjoyed that. Reading that made me a lot less nervous.

Both of my brothers went last year, and I was so jealous. Someday I might do it, but funds are just too tight right now. They both thought it was one of the greatest things ever.
Have a great time! And remember to tell people about it ^_^!
It's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bumping this thread up. I know it's not Saturday yet, but i want you to be able to find it easily when you update.
Well I have a bit of an update already. I am going Sunday instead. The forecast for Saturday is not so great for around here. It's not supposed to rain but the winds are expected to be 20+ sustained and 45 MPH gusts. So, I was able to re-schedule until Thursday so I did. Sunday it's supposed to be sunny and 63 degrees. So, I am going Sunday at noon. I don't have the internet at home anyway so I will be updating on Monday!!
Thanks everyone!
aahhhh!!!
i wna go soooo bad!
ironically im deathly afriad of heights tho..
like nvr even been on a roller coaster scared..
i rly wna do this tho!

Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing.
I am getting mine videotaped too so hopefully I can get it on here Monday or shortly after. Thanks!
can't wait to hear about it lovin! skydiving is high on my list of things to do in life.
Jules - Yes, it was one of the things I eventually wanted to do. I was thinking it would go in the order of, parasailing, bungee jumping then skydiving maybe one day. I am starting with the one I thought I could never do. I actually just spoke to them to confirm. Woo hoo!!!!
You'll love it! Don't worry about what you'll look like in your jumpsuit. It is so baggy that no one will notice. During freefall, you won't really see your entire body, so that's not a problem either. And really, the way your cheeks might flap in the wind will be so funny on the video that you'll forget about everything else!
Hopefully you'll like it enough to keep going. I'm licensed with 400+ jumps. It's my passion. I am afraid of heights, and I don't like airplanes that much. But the thrill is amazing.

Oh, I am so jealous! I really want to become licensed someday, but I can't afford it right now. However, when I graduate, that's the first thing on my list, haha!
Hi,
My husband used to be a paratrooper in the Army over a decade ago. He loved it.
I don't know how much you weigh, but I know someone who did that last year and he had to up higher than his friend did because they go by weight. He weighed more so he had to jump out at a higher altitude.
Have fun!!!!!! I don't have the guts. :D
Well, it was totally awesome!
I will have the video up soon. I will add a pic or two up here too.
I even got to be up there over a minute longer because me and my tandem were the lightest. I am 146 and he was probably only 20 lbs heavier than me. It was absolutely amazing and I am definitely doing it again!!!
Woohoo!!!!
