Now I HAVE to lose weight! (skydiving)

Quote  |  Reply

So, I am still pretty unsuccessful at the weight loss even though I have been attending the gym religiously for 8 weeks now.  However, I need to lose it now.

I am going SKYDIVING!!!!!!  I know I don't NEED to lose any weight to actually do it but I am being recorded and I want to look cute in my jumpsuit.  This is a great opportunity (I actually won this as a prize at a charity raffle fundraiser) and I want to look my best.  However, I am looking at doing it in May or June.  Better kick my booty into gear!

I am so excited!!!  Anyone ever been and any helpful hints?

Oh, I will be tandem skydiving, by the way.

Okay, I've always wanted to go skydiving.  Is there a weight limit?  I know that sounds horrible but when I was 60 pounds heavier, it's something that I thought about.  Here's the funny part.  I'm not afraid to die.  I'd just be petrified of the headlines..."Fat **** Dies When Parachute Isn't Enough To Hold Him".

There is a weight limit.  I have heard different things though.  I thought the limit was like 240 but when we were there, my tandem kept trying to get my fiance to go and he said, "I am over the weight limit." and I asked my instructor what the limit was and he said 275.  Now, maybe that is just with him (he is kind of little).  I have no idea.

Well, I'm down to 212 so I should be just fine.  I guess now I don't have a "real" excuse...damn it!

The one instructor was about 240 probably and tall, maybe 6'1".

Go for it!  You WILL NOT regret it.  And you have a better chance at dying driving your car then you do skydiving.

Oh, I forgot to add, my tandem, Eric.  He has had over 14,200 jumps!  I couldn't believe it.  In other words, I wasn't worried.  We landed perfect, on our feet and I blame it all on him.  He definitely knows what he is doing.
