Any "Losers" from Virginia out there?
Hi all: Looking for any like minded "losers" here in Virginia to communicate with for motivation on those rough days. I'm in Virginia on the east coast. I KNOW I'm not the only fat person in this state!! Let me hear from you - please?
Fairfax here (Northern Virginia).
There's a few of us in the Greater DC area :)
Southside Virginia here.
There's only one of us out here, that I know of....

Hi: Great to hear from y'all. Nomore, what constitutes Southside Virginia? I'm basically Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck because the news people can't decide if Middlesex is either one... Originally from Gloucester (two counties over) which is definitely Middle Peninsula.
Hi Hkellick: Great to hear from fellow Virginians. Down here we call your area NOVA. At least in the title industry that's what it's called because there are some modified documents specifically for underwriting in that area. When I was a kid I used to go up there to visit my grandparents. They lived in Alexandria and then Waynewood. Not sure if that's technically NOVA or part of DC and it was a long time ago - you know how that memory thing goes...
Southside is the part of Virginia also known as 'the middle of nowhere' ::giggles::
From wiki:
It can also refer to the south-central part of the state, roughly bounded by the James River on the north, the Blue Ridge Mountains on the west, and the South Hampton Roads area on the east. The major center of the "Southside Virginia" area is generally considered to be Danville.
From wiki:
Alexandria (where I currently work) is still part of NOVA, just south of DC proper. :)
Well, it was great hearing from y'all and I hope we hear from a lot more 'ginians but I've got to go to the office. At least my internet is much faster there. Here at home - in the major boonies, all I can get is dial up but at the office, I've got DSL. What a great thing that is. Yeah, I've lived in the stone ages for way too long. Wanted to get the house sold this summer and move to Gloucester and build but the market is sucky so it's just not happening now. Anybody out there want an 1889 farmhouse with modern additions?????? Talk to y'all later and have a great day!
Richmond area here - live on one side of town, work on the other!
Hi Pattikins: You are probably closest to me so far. A lot of Richmonders have summer places down here in Deltaville. I often come to Richmond for title seminars.
Susan- I've never been to Deltaville, but we spent our honeymoon at the Tides Lodge (maybe closed now???) & I've also been to the Tides Inn in Irvington a couple of times. Love the water. We knew we wouldn't be able to spend weekends away, so we live in a house on a small lake instead! Not the same, of course, but we like it.
I'm also in Fairfax County. Nice to "meet" you all!!
Where in Fairfax County, Ipod? :)
*always likes meeting new local C-C'ers*
I am in Norfolk, though Deltaville is very pretty, bought my boat there.
i'm from virginia beach!! but im at school in blacksburg right now!
Pattikins: As far as I know, the Tides is still there but I don't know if both or only one. Irvington, Kilmarnock, White Stone are across the river from me. In fact, I can see White Stone from my back yard, or at least could see it before the people behind me built on the waterfront. They did leave me a little bit of a view.
Hi Ipod. Maybe you and HK live near each other. That would be cool.
Caribnsol - do you remember where you got your boat? Or how long ago. Deltaville was once known for boat building back in the day although they are mostly just dealers now. The company my husband works for is over where you are although I think they are actually in Va Beach. He currently works on the Portsmouth CG base as a government contractor. Quite a haul everyday from here. That's why we want to get out of here. If you know of anyone that wants a place over here - definitely let me know!! LOL. Great to hear from you.
Hi Eschap, we are going to be in Va Bch this weekend for hubby's Xmas party at the Cavalier. A couple of years ago they had it there and it actually snowed. THAT doesn't happen very often. Are you at Tech?
susan: wow snow in virginia beach is rare! i was in third grade before i saw it! yep, im at tech!...and it snowed here today!!
Hi, I am from the southside, and yes, there are more fatties in virginia..I am one of them:D...
