Losin' It! Check in here

Ok ya'll here we are in our new home.  The reason it took so long is because I had a crappy week. Off and on over the weekend last weekend our Air Conditioning was flipping out and not working.  Hubby was able ot get it back going, but it was a pain when it went out.   Then Tuesday morning, hubby, our 3 kids, my MIL and I all went to a waterpark for the day and then to my sons baseball party after.  We got home at like 9:30PM and it was 95degrees in my house.  IT SUCKED!  So Wednesday morning I got up and called the landlord. He promised to get someone out to fix it. They came out, 'fixed' it  and left.  Knowing it takes a little time to cool down, and it was late afternoon before they got out to fix it, I just made sure we had the windows open for a few hours until it started raining and all the fans going.  My bedroom is in the basement and hubby was working the overnite shift for work, so I hauled the 3 kids down with me and went to bed.   The air STILL wasn't blowing cold.

I got about 2 hours sleep wed night and called the landloard AGAIN thurday AM to tell him it wasn't working.  He sent the guy back out and we found out the AC wasn't getting power to it so it burned out the motor and compressor.  Finally at like 5 thursday nite it started cooling off a little in the house.  It's a good thing too because we were leaving for the lake for the weekend at 7AM friday and I hadn't done ANYTHING. So I packed and went to the grocery store and friday morning loaded up the family and the stuff and headed for the lake.  IT was FABULOUS. Drank more than I should have, ate the wrong things (though not much of it) was hotter than hell, but the water felt wonderful.  A friend of mine from work went and we had too much fun.

Now I'm back and ready to get in gear.  School started this morning so I get rid of 2 of the 3 kids during the day,so maybe i can even get some of my house cleaned.  WOW, just the thought gives me goosebumps! LOL

Oh yeah, and this sunday morning, i get to take off for a 9 hour drive with my boss to go to some training for 3 days.   I really need about 5 more hours in a day!!!!! LOL

Hey there Kimber-

I was glad to see the post!  I am sorry you had a bad week.  Hopefully the air gets fixed soon.  It is HOT where you are.  My aunt lives in Olathe KS and often complains of the heat of summer.  I thought it was bad here (85 degrees)... but it isn't as humid and we get a coastal breeze.  You talk about the lake alot.  Do you have a lake house???

I hope that the work thing goes well.  Wow I thought I had it bad.  My "kids" are a fat cat and a 5 month old puppy.  But they are easier than human kids any day.  I do have a 40 years old hubby who acts like a kid.  That kinda counts doesn't it? :)

Did okay last week.  Set some goals on Monday and I kept the exercise goal and the water goal.  Overall I feel like I am doing good things for myself.  TOTM hit pretty hard and all I wanted to do was eat and sleep, but I managed to do okay in spite of it.  I need to think of new goals- or maybe I will keep the ones I have.

Food wise- I am fine during the week- but the weekends are killing me.  I had a friend over on Friday night, sort of impromptu.  We had a great time, but drank about 4 glasses of wine while we were singing karaoke at my house.  But Sat was the really bad day.  Went to a movie with some friends then to PF Changs for dinner.  I LOVE PF CHANGS!  I figure that dinner was about 1000 calories- YIKES.  But I did go the gym and ate very sensibly the rest of the day.  I am fine with one cheat day, but I don't know if two is a good thing or not.  Maybe that will be one of my weekly goals.  Only ONE cheat day.
Hey guys, nice to hear from you both!

Kim, so sorry about the a/c sitch--I had something simliar happen a couple years ago in August, in Texas--on the third day w/out a/c, I went and checked myself into La Quinta, and deducted the bill from my rent!!

Dana, I hear you on the cheat days--I'm coming off of a couple of cheat WEEKS. Sounds like you did a good job sticking with the exercise and eating sensibly otherwise, so I think you've got the right attitude. I like the idea of one cheat day though--think that might help me keep things under control a little better.

I'm THRILLED to report that not only did I get back on track with eating well today, but I also FINALLY managed to get myself back to the gym this eve (it's been three weeks), and it felt great (at least afterwards!). I can def tell I've lost some ground during my "break," but the important thing is I got my butt back in there, so I'm heading in the right direction!
Blackie-

GOOD JOB on getting back to the gym.  It can be so hard to go back when you haven't been in a while.  I always feel better after I go though, even if I didn't want to go initially.  If anything, I feel better that I am done, even if I still don't feel well.  Better than sitting my butt on the couch.  Don't worry, you will gain your ground quickly.  Keep it up!

A cheat day is the only way I could do this.  Otherwise I feel too deprived and then I get mad!  Since I am an emotional eater and anger is an emotion, I will then eat.  I made the goal official in my journal- only ONE cheat day this week, either Friday or Saturday, but NOT both.
Dana-  no, we don't have a house at the lake, but we have a couple pop-up campers so we go to a lake about 40 minutes away that has a real nice campground.   We're right on the water in a nice quiet (most of the time) cove so it works out really well.  I'm just sad that we only have maybe one more weekend then it's bye-bye for the winter :-(

I love the ideas about the cheat days.  Maybe I can make a deal with myself. If I go to the gym 4 days a week, then I can have 1 cheat day.   My biggest problem though lately is eating enough.  I actually stopped logging my food because I was being so far away and would make up for the difference with junk.   I REALLY need to get back to logging my food!
Hey ladies, hope everyone is doing well! I've had a good week--back on track with eating and exercising, and broke into the 170s this morning, HOORAY!!! Other big news is I'm buying a house! First time for me, and the offer was accepted last night, so think it's all a go. Preoccupation with all the house stuff has made it way easier to forget about food--I'm hitting my target cals for the day, but not being tempted to eat more, because I've got too much on my mind!
Hey everyone!  Just wanted to let you know I haven't fallen off the planet.  Just had so much going on the past couple weeks with work, and family issues (and a few mental ones, but that's a different story) that I haven't had time to do anything on here.... and it shows too, the stupid scale hasn't moved!!!! :-(
Hey Kim- Glad to see you're back.  Haven't seen anyone here for a while.  Hope things settle down for you a bit.  At least the scale hasn't moved- that means that while it hasn't gone down, it also hasn't gone up either!
