I started on Calorie count 2 years ago today.  At that time I weighed 274 lbs.  I got down to 145 lbs last april and today I am up to 167 lbs.  I want to reverse this trend and get back on track.  I still have been exercising, but not quite as much as before.  I also have not logged consistently.  When I do log I keep my calories around 1300 - 1500, but stop logging when I overeat.

Since april I have had my gall bladder removed and broke a rib falling off my bike.  This has hampered me a bit, but I want to make sure I don't start gaining all the weight back.  I need help and encouragement.  Thanks for any ideas.

Hi!~Merry Christmas~

Sounds like you really need to own up to your actions here! Log everything for a month... no fails. Buy a scale, weigh out your food options, and buckle down. You will at least then have a better concept of your food intake and own up to your actions by logging everything. Sometimes it's what keeps me from stuffing my face, or having that cookie... I don't want to look at it in my log later on ya know?

G'luck, and stick with it... keep the logging up!!

I've got pretty much the same story Doc. I got to goal last year. Some time after vacation this past summer, I dropped my very good habbit of logging. I've got 15 ugly pounds to loose now. I will get rid of all the holiday goodies (baddies) and begin anew. I'm looking forward to focusing on me for a change, and watching the results. We have been there and know what we have to do, right? I plan to start after the new year, or when the junk is outta the house whichever comes first! Good luck! We WILL do this!

Hi ya'll! I know what you are going thru Doc! I am not happy to share in your misery tho. In the past 15 months, I have managed to gain 25 pounds. I was down to 170 from 245. My goal is 155. Now I am up to 195. I now have 40 pounds to lose again. Ugh!!! I am very disgusted with my lack of control and especially my laziness. I have been eating bad and not excercising. I know what I have to do and I am hoping that we can encourage each other in sticking to the plan we KNOW works for us. As for me today I ate everything and anything I wanted. I feel like a bloated whale. But I did take a 40 minute walk this afternoon, first time in probably 2 months. I won't throw out all the Christmas goodies untill MOnday because of the family, but my 1400 cal plan and walking program will start tomarrow. Then Monday all sweets will be gone from my house. I am excited for the both of us Doc, I know we can do it. We did it before!!! God Bless Linda

Thanks Malynda,Munsey and linda,

I have logged consistently today and cross country skied for close to 2 hours this afternoon.  Yes, I know what I need to do, and appreciate all of your encouragements. Best of luck refocusing yourselves.  We can do this and it is a constant struggle we will have to keep track of.  Thanks for all the support.

Sorry I can't offer any words of wisdom but just wanted to say that I'm in the same boat, too.

I went from 175 down to 136.5 (goal was 132) then it became a struggle and regained 21 lbs!  Since mid-November I been somewhat back on track and have lost 5 lbs.  I just try to focus on eating healthy foods in proper portions rather than making "losing weight" or "getting to 132" as my goal.

Any way good luck!

Eh, I was just thinking about you today.  We were always doing the Monthly Exercise Challenge together and I remember your awesome weight loss!  I've gained back every single pound I lost on CC in 2007.  Over 2008 I never had a positive amount of time where I dieted.  On top of that I stopped exercising.

I feel like I've made a commitment the last few days to get back into shape.  I think the key is exercise and the broken rib and gall bladder removal definitely slowed you down.  I know you can do it!  Are you doing the exercise challenge?

I find the more I exercise, the less I feel like eating.  Also I don't really feel like eating junk if I'm riding my bike an walking the dog regularly.  Good luck!  It's definitely time to start logging, exercising and loosing rather than gaining.
