losing inches around waist

Quote  |  Reply

OK, I need some help losing a few inches around my middle. Is there a way to only lose weight there? I actually don't want to get any smaller around my hips & especially up top. Why is it that my waist measurements aren't getting as small as I'd like (I think its realistic, but I've always had more of a straight up and down figure instead of curves)

Help please?

eat more low fat, or non fat dairy, and whole grains. research says those foods help specifically take weight off your mid section

put keep in mind you can't necessarily "spot-reduce" and tell your body where to lose the fat. You are genetically going to lose it however your body wants to lose it. It would be nice if you could just only target the areas you want to lose, but it doesn't work that way.

thanks... I did just get a bunch of non fat yogurt & granola. I'm going to start eating that and keep up with my cardio. Hopefully it'll come off there instead of making my butt smaller.

If you've ALWAYS been straight up and down figure-wise, it's not going to change no matter how much weight you lose - body shape is largely genetically determined. In other words, if you lose more weight, it's going to come off fairly evenly and you'll still be the same shape, just smaller. There isn't any way to force your body to lose inches from a particular area without affecting the rest.

i'd like to know the same.  my top is small enough lol but i really want to lose like an inch around my waist and hips. my legs are fine too. i wish i could tell my body where to lose from! i've heard the same about dairy but i dont' know if i believe it.  i dont' eat dairy anyway so thats' not an option for me unless soy milk has the same affect!

I'm not convinced on the dairy thing. I mean, who says it? the dairy industry.  If Mars came out and said that eating a snickers a day made you smarter, I wouldn't start doing that either.

Short anwser: no.

liposuction that's the only way.

How often should you eat during the day?

It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
