I don't have all that much weight that I want to lose (less than 10 pounds) but I really really want to lose INCHES. I was thinking for people who are in the same situation as I am, that we could make a challenge out of it.
Everyone must give their bust (if you have one!), waist (at smallest place), waist (at largest), thighs, hips (around the butt area), and biceps (in the middle between your shoulder and elbow). Then you must set an amount of inches that you want to lose by the end of TWO months. Don't go crazy with your goal! I will post everyone's names, measurements and goals and we will see who is the biggest loser- in inches!
Mine:
Bust: 34
Waist at smallest: 27 1/2
Hips: 38 (shudder)
Thighs: 22
Bicep: 10 1/2
Waist at largest: 33
Goal in two months (October 18th, 2007):
Bust: 34
Waist at smallest: 25 1/2
Hips: 34
Thighs: 19
Biceps: 8 1/2
Waist at largest: 29/30
Total: 14/15 inches. If this sounds unreasonable or unhealthy, please tell me!
Also, anyone who has some workouts that they find are making the inches melt off, please share!!!

Okay, awesome. I posted a site on reply #3 that can help you measure properly!
I know! I've already lost 2 inches off my hips since May, so I know its possible. Weight lifting is where it is at! This week I am going to start incorporating HIIT and hopefully the inches will just fly off! I found a version I might be able to do on the treadmill without running and hurting my knee again. Yay!
Awesome! I usually do HIIT, but I tried to do it outside a few days ago and I guess I was going faster than I thought because I almost passed out and I got REALLY dehydrated, so I couldn't finish. I'm going to have to buy a heart rate monitor. What did you do to lose the inches?
My workout is just going to be me making it up. I'm sick of trying to follow other ones and not getting results. I will just make sure that all of my muscles hurt by the end of the session and then I'll be fine!

I'll join this! I took my measurements but am not going to post them yet because it is currently TTOM, so I know I'm bloated. Meaning my measurements are probably off a bit. Give me a few more days and I'll post them.

I have been lifting weights 3 times a week, as heavy as I'm able to and still get all the reps, and I walk 30-45 minutes on the treadmill every other day. I've also be tracking my calories and making sure to eat enough protein and not too many carbs. Right now my ratio is 50% carbs, 20-25% protein, 20-25% fat, between 1350-1500 calories. I try to keep the fat just under my carb percentage, but every day is a little different. I'll probably eat a bit more on my HIIT days.
Ya, sounds like a good idea. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to walk, but since I'm trying to burn the most fat in the least amount of time, I have to run. I'm not a huge fan of the running, but w/e. I usually do about a half hour of HIIT and then I take my dog for an hour walk.... it's not for the exercise that I do that. It's that it gives me time to think and daydream about all the awesome clothes I'm going to wear once I lose weight!
I have to walk, unfortunatly, but I do ramp the treadmill up to +10 incline at 3-3.5 mph. I read a new way to use the treadmill for HIIT on a bodybuilding website today where it said you can set the treadmill to the highest incline, at 1.5-2 mph, and do walking lunges for 30 seconds, then rest 2 minutes, and repeat for 20 minutes. I'm going to try it since lunges don't hurt my knee nearly as bad as running does.

o.k. well I think I have my measurements. I say think b/c my husband measured me last week and their different, some bigger some smaller, and 3 times in one place today all 2 cm apart.
