Losing 20 lbs...anybody want to join me?

Quote  |  Reply
Since I started a new job, my weight skyrocketted to over 150 lbs. (the second time that's happened in my life.) I've tried lose the weight but I haven't found the motivation. This week I decided to go back to the gym and start my weight loss journey because I've found that when I go to the gym regularly, I can control my eating habits.

I'm looking for buddies who would want to keep in touch everyday and motivate each other.

hi

i would like to join u in this challenge.  I have gained a ridicous 165 pounds and can't seems to get to my normal 140-145 weight range after the birth of my lil girl almost 3 years ago. I have started a 5 day eating habit which i will stick to.  I now realised that i have to make this a permanent habit as the weight will go back quickly if i don't.

Awesome, schamarley. How do you want to do it? Should we post here or just email each other everyday?

I would like to join as well. I am now 170 lbs and would like to be back to my normal 150. It is all the eating crappy and drinking on the weekends. I wish I could blame it on my daughter, but she is now 5. :) and I have been down to 135 after her. I am starting back at the gym today (I have been going since January but for the last 2 weeks haven't gone once!). I eat great during the week, but it's on the weekends that is my downfall.

Hi

We can have daily emailing and then a weight posting done every Friday in other to track our progress. Also a daily menu for all meals can be posted to make it more interesting.

Good luck bye

Hi,

I would like to join you in your goal, I am at 150lbs I was at 130 in December but as they say when your happy you gain weight.  Well I want to be happy and back and slim.  So I would love to help motivate you as well as wanting you to help motivate me as well.  Last week I walked nineteen miles in 94 to 107 degree heat.  But it is my goal to drop back down to 120lbs.

Hope to hear from you soon.

JM

Why don't you all send me a private message with your email? I'll set up a list and send an email to everybody.

I think that first we should get to know each other and find out our goals. We should also learn the way in which each of us plans to lose weight. I don't think we should all use the same method but I think we should encourage each other to get into good habits and pick each other when we're down.

Hi, I messaged you, I would love to join this group, I need some motivation from others around me. I also have aboout 20-25 pounds I want to lose.

I'd like to join too. I gained 30 lbs. in my first two years of college and eventually reached 162 lbs. I am now down 7lbs. but would like to lose the rest and avoid gaining it back this Fall. :)

I too weigh 150. Yuck.  Started walking in morning on tradmill, also on my two 15 minute breaks at work.  I know it sounds crazy I also am now doing the grapefruit diet.

I want to join. I want to lose 20 lbs.

I would really like to join also.  I am 5'8 and weigh 195.  I want to lose 20 lbs to get down to 175.  I am starting a boot camp program next Monday, so I am hoping this would help.  My main issue is not being able to control my eating.  I am hungry all of the time! I need motivation to eat right and keep working toward my goal.
I have 23 pounds to lose to get to goal so I would love to join!

count me in too!!! i'm a small framed girl, 5'2 in height tops. i weigh in at 126 pounds now but the sad thing is i was only 119 pounds 5 days ago. i am a meat lover n trust me when i say that i can eat more than a truck driver....which is my weakest point. i noticed that when i start to indulge in my fave chocoate chip cookie, then i find myself doing it more often...which then starts to include more treats. i read somewhere that it takes about a month for a person to kick or build a new habit n though i've been half-way there...i've never reached the 1 month goal. so with this, i'll wish myself n everyone else in this group to at least reach the one month/30 day goal of sticking to a better diet and lifestyle. we can do it!!!

I'm in!  I just messaged you with my email address and am looking forward to hearing from everyone.

I just had my first terrible binge today.  I started counting calories and upping my activities last week.  Lost 3lbs fast at first by eating 1400 cals a day.  But today's 2000 binge proves it's gonna be hard to sustain this.  :(

I hope this support group will help me out.

Hi!  I'm in too!  After I had a baby, my weight from 145-ish to 165.  Now I'm down to 154-55 and my CC goal is 136lbs but my realistic weight goal is 143lbs.  I'm trying to work really hard to get off of my food addiction and I completely understand what it's like to gain weight when you get a new job.  I'm struggling with it right now (but I'm finding ways to keep on track, lol).  Good luck!

I'll join the group since I want to lose 20 lbs and more.

Hi,

I am part of a 45 day challenge but I need the daily contact with people who are supportive. So I would love to join your group. I have 60 lbs to lose. I check in to calorie count 2-3 times every day, so I can post to the forum then.

Beverly

hey riahekans, I would definitely like to join you! I've been looking for someone to help motivate and support, but so far no luck. Frown I have about 20lbs to lose...well 28 to be exact. I'm at a horrifying 173lbs, the most I've ever been in my life! I actually 171 the day before I had my second child. If I could lose 15-20 and stay there I'd be happy. My main concern is losing it, then gaining it back or gaining more because that has happened to me before. So let's do this thing together! I'm actually new to the whole thing, I joined the site yesterday and started calorie count. Laughing

Hello every one,

I don't really follow a diet. I count calories. I too can eat like a truck driver and also have an intense sweet tooth. So I eat a lot of veggies for both break fast and lunch along with low-fat natural cheese and lean meat. maybe some tuna or hard-boiled eggs. I also eat fresh fruit. Then at dinner (I am married and have a teen-age son) I eat lean meat and either raw or sauted veggies. I am a wine drinker so I have 1-3 glasses a day. Other than wine I drink lots of water, a glass of skim milk, an coffee. I try to not eat sweets because it is like an addiction. If I have one bite I think about it all the time. I often have a Balance Bar if I am hungry or a really small really good piece of chocolate in the afternoon, but not as "dessert."

I try to stay between 1,300 -1,600 calories 4-5 days a week, and two days where I can go up to 2,200 calories.

I go to spinning class at least once a week (I try to go 3x a week). I also run about 2 miles 2-3 times a week, or work out on the elliptical trainer. Basically I do 4-5 days of cardio. Then I weight train 2-3 days. I hike or swim on the weekends.

I used to weigh about 140 lbs and wear a size 6 or 8. Now I weigh 197 and wear a 14 or a 16. I used to eat nothing and work out every day. I was an actress. when I took a break from acting, turned 35 and went back to college I started gaining weight.

I look forward to hearing from all of you and reading about your goals.

Beverly

Count me in too!

I am one of those emotional eaters & I seem to have developed a food addiction over the last couple of years :)  Couple that with the fact that I no longer play soccer (used to ply 1-5 times per week for the past 20 years) & I now have this weight issue.

I am at 155lbs now, the highest I haver ever been!  If I can lose 20lbs, I think I would feel better.....I am tired all the time!

Anyway, thanks for creating this group, I look forward to helping all of us reach our goals!
