Losing it 10lbs at a time Club!

Hi,

I have around 30 lbs to lose, but this can be for anyone at any amount.  I thought it would be a good idea to start concentrating on losing 10 lbs at time so that way it won't seem like such a huge number or task ahead. 

It will work like this once you lose you first 10 or for some it may not be their first 10 maybe just 10 more off of what they've already lost, you post here and let us know and get the praise you so deserve and let us know what worked for you to motivate the rest.  At that point you will have to up your game and begin to exercise harder or change it up a little, you will also have to eat even more healthier or better by practicing moderation and portion control or maybe going from 1 cheat day to none.  Basically just making a change to help you become the best you while losing the next 10lbs and it will continue on like that. 

We can also use this post as motivation and updates on what we are doing, exercising and eating. Just remember that every time you lose 10lbs you have to up what your already doing for the next 10!!!

So who wants to join me taking it 10lbs at a time???

So I will start here posting my stats:

28 yr old/Female

Height: 5'3"

Current weight: 150


1st Goal Weight: 140

Goal weight: 120 -125

thats exactly what im doing, im aiming to lose 30lb aswel but its too much in one go so set my target for 10lb at a time

Would love to share any tips etc with you and your 30lb loss!!!
Ok its gonna sound like a rerun but same here I would like to lose 30 as well and then after I get to that point maybe another 10 depending on how my body is looking at that point.

Starting to find that this is not all that hard to do :) Its the best thing that I have tried so far!!
Hi welcome...looks like so far we have about 30lbs to lose.  Well this is what I'm doing now and it seems to work for now, but not sure when I will hit that plateau.

1200 cals/day Sedentary (work in office)

Breakfast: I keep it between 160 to 200 cals

Lunch:  Between 200 to 300 cals

Snacks:  Between 200 cals (so 2 snacks throughout the day)

Dinner:  I eat whatever I prepare for my family just in moderation and using portion control.

I don't eat fast foods unless it's Subway

**By no means am I educated on what to eat and so on, that's why I started this challenge so I can learn as well as others. But so far this is what's been working for me, I've lost 5 lbs in 2 wks thus far.**

I run about 2 miles 3 to 4x's a wk and hope to up my miles in my next 10lbs!

I will also be learing how to swim in about 2 wks so hopefully that can become an activity I love.

not really a snacker tho

love subways! 6 inch veggie lots of salad!!

i run 30mins a day (jog walk run combo)

started swimming about 4 weeks ago, go 2-3 times a week, im not a very strong swimmer but can swim

so far though ive only lost 1.5lbs! hence y i switched to 10lb a time loss than the 30lb!!

any help or guidence would be greatful!

How long have you actively been trying to lose weight?  I have been "trying" since the beginning of May, but not "really trying" until the 31st of May so it' s been about 2 weeks and I'm down 5 lbs.  I just cut out givinig in to temptation of all the junk at my job (By the way I'm at work most of the day, so it's hard to not give in), I'm proud of myself so far though because you can not imagine all of the junk we have in our office to eat.  That's why I started bring my own snacks like fruit, 100 cal packs and I've also been eating mixed nuts which really feels me up and I don't feel the need to snack or eat junk all day.  I also bring instant oatmeal every morning and my lunch (which is usually a microwave meal or soup). Do you have a goal date?  I just say hopefully by the end of the year, but really by Feb 08 (my baby will be 1 and I want to say I dropped all the baby weight plus some by then :))

i guess since april 2006, on and off

i was ok until i went on the depo injection and within a year and half i gained 33lbs

since coming off the depo (23days ago) im still waiting for that to leave my system

i do give into tempation sometimes like just now i ate 4 chocolate fingers craved something sweet after paella

i did have a goal date of the summer but that has approached and i will not make it, i have my graduation ceramony the day before my 23rd birthday, 23rd nov, so im aiming to drop as much as i can within my 30lbs by my graduation date and birthday, if i drop 10lb, 15lb, 20lb then il be happy for that

but ive given myself a long term goal i no it doesnt happen over night so until next summer so june 08

as long as i lose the 30lb i happy!

Well hopefully by nov I'll be down atleast 20 - 25, my sister just let me know our 10 year highschool reunion is in Nov, so oh my god I can't go like this, I was tiny in highschool and I don't want people to be like dang what happen to her, plus I want to wear a nice dress?  So now I'm really aiming high and I do think it's possible to lose 30 lbs in 5 months, but still I'm just concentrating on 10 lbs at a time and wish for the best!

1st goal weight: 193 - can't wait to be under 200, hopefully by the first week of Aug

Goal Weight: 175 by the end of the year, then I'll take it from there
Well as of now it seems only a few of us want to take this challenge on...so good luck to everyone I know we can do this,  lets continue to motivate one another.  Can't wait to see who will be the first to go down 10 lbs...hmmm maybe we should challenge against one another????? 

Hopefully I'll have a chance to go and run tonight, I work late today, plus I have to go to the store to get some things for my honey's surprise b-day party this saturday!!! 

Wish me luck this weekend to not over indulge at the party!!!!

I am 28 yr old female 5 foot 51/2.

I started the program at 145

I have just lost my first 10 lbs...I am now 135!

I started the program may 7th.

I am very active and stick to 1700 cal unless i am dirtbiking that day then I bump 'er up to 2000. This is working for me.

I chase my 3 yr old around, walk , ride mountain bikes and sometimes a small work out in my living room like pilate sorta.

I also do light weight training to help build my muscles which speeds up my metabolism!

I love this site and my nutrition grade (even when i eat chocolate cake) is always a B to an A

Today I weighed in at 152 so I guess my first mini goal will be 142!
Overall goal weight...I'm not entirely sure. 125-135 (yeah..a gap) probably something in the middle.

I aim for 1200-1500 calories a day, and I try to get at least 90 minutes of cardio in 5 days/week. This week I have been slacking..TTOM for me. I've felt really out of energy...and ohhh the food cravings! I can't wait for this to be over with next week! Funny how I used to complain about cramps, headache, etc...Now even though I still get cramps, what bothers me the most are the cravings!

Hey that was my plan too but I started with 85 lbs to lose.  I am down 10 now since May 24th. 

Weight now: 199.5

goal weight: 190

I eat 1200 calories a day and take a 30 min walk with my kids (pushing a stroller) 5 days a week.  I also carry my 15 lbs son all day for weight training :)

What a nice idea! I started out at 207, so my first 10 pounds will be at 197. I'm 202 now, so only 5 pounds to go for my first 10 pounds lost! Good luck to everyone! :D
I'll get in on this! I started at 238 in January and my ultimate goal is 148-158.

My first 10 pound goal is 187. I weighed in at 193 this morning, so only 5 lbs to go!

When I found this website a little bit over a week ago, I was at 130 lbs (have already lost 4 lbs from 1 month on Weight Watcher)  I have set my goal to 120 lbs (by end of August)

So far, I'm doing GREAT here with C-C.  I'm addicted to logging my food and activity everyday and I've got an "A" average on Nutrition Analysis *^_^* 

Once I reach my first -10lbs goal.  I will try to keep going for another  10 more before I start maintaining!  I hope I can achieve both goals by Year End!!!
