Losing "Vanity Pounds" (Closed Group)
I looked and looked around, but couldn't find a good forum for people who are just trying to lose "vanity pounds". Everybody's trying to lose a lot of weight, or trying to maintain a healthy weight. But I can't seem to find anybody who's looking to get rid of the little "soft spots" here and there and just make their body and life a little healthier and look a little better. ;)
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a group for people who feel they are in pretty good condition already, and they can go about their lives without extra attention to diet/exercise. This is NOT a group for people who are looking to "lose weight," but instead- as stated in the title- to lose the extra "vanity weight" (the extra flab here and fluff there). This is pretty much a group for people trying to tone up. Henceforth, "Goal Weight" is no longer included in the member stats. This is about gaining muscle/toning, not losing weight.

jewel_girl is the winner for the clean-eating challenge! She whooped us all with her astounding talents to say no to fast food and say yet to healthier alternatives! Even with a slight splurge at the end, she says she wouldn't have traded that moment with her daughter sharing New York Fries for anything! Congratulations, Jamie!
Current Challenge: Add up all your hours/minutes of cardio activity. You can add up everything you do at the gym (bike- 86 min, elliptical, 138 min, etc, etc, etc) AND you can add up anything extra you do. Anything from going out to the club (as long as your dancing, not just trolling! ;] ), swimming, bike-riding, roller blading, anything. Just try to keep it honest with the fact that it's cardio. If you walk to work every day (like me!), I don't think you can count those 15-20 minutes as cardio since they're not getting your heart rate up that high. If you're doing something where you can still keep a conversation going, but you have to breathe a lot heavier, you're in the activity range we're talking!

That's me! I'm 5'6 153lbs, but I have a medium-large frame. my goal is 145, but maybe high 130's. =)
I just want to be healthier and awesome in a bikini this summer!

goal weight: 125-120
overall goal: lose that extra fat and tone up. i want to be able to have someone look at me and know i'm ripped. don't wanna have to flex my muscles haha
Wooo! I'm so glad we're all coming together! I'll get you girls added. Does anybody have any ideas for challenges? I figured we'd have eating challenges and water challenges, things like that (drink 8 glasses a day for a week, highest fiber wins, lowers sodium wins, etc.). And we can also do workout challenges: most situps, most girl pushups, most REAL pushups, sorest muscles, HAHA!
Can I join too? I'm a little older than most of you, but I still wear a bikini (in my hot tub at least

Hi All....I think this is a great idea. Those pounds for "vanity" are hard to lose and important none the less in our hearts.

No back boobs yet (great name)...but I am suddenly gaining muffin tops and my butt turned into jello...how did that happen hahaha My goal is to firm up, loose that extra 14 pound layer and get back into my favorite jeans (comfortably) As well as feel healthier again, able to run around without getting so tired. I'm up for a few challenges or at least moral support.

Wow! I noticed you're in Tempe AND going for the same goals as myself! I live in PHX, and just want to lose about 5 more lbs. I have lost 11 lbs, but just want a couple more gone.

Wahoo! I love finding other Zonies! They usually aren't on here cause they just sweat all that weight off anyways! ;)
I saw this and became a member of the website just because of this forum!
I too have trouble because I don't have "that much" to lose but have been putting it off for years. I keep thinking, I was so skinny at 17, that wasn't too long ago. And now I turned 22, and realized, I haven't felt good in half a decade.
So...:

Goal weight: 116
overall goal: to lose my "pudge" which appears at the most inopportune moments, feel better, and maybe be able to wear a bikini confidently.
ideas for challenges:
1. how many days in a row one can drink 8 glass of h20 per day (im awful at this),
2. number of hours worked out in a week,
3. best workout of the week,
4. most amount of weight lost per week (since we all have about the same amount to lose),
5. best compliment received all week,
6. best feeling from losing weight/being healthy all week (to encourage everyone else)
Maybe we should get "partners" or "groups" with similar goals, since it might be hard to check up on everyone??

What are you all doing to try to lose these last couple of pounds? Does everyone work out? How about eating habits?

By the way, Monday is my birthday: 21!!! I wish I could lose 2 lbs by then...

Currently at 164, 5'9.
Culprit: Beer Belly. Not a crazy one, but definitely noticeable in a bikini.
Goal: I want to get to 150 and then shape down into that bikini bod. I moved this year to an apt. complex with a pool, so lots of bikini wearing will be (hopefully) going on this summer.
Also I'm training for a half marathon and have to watch my calories (I always seem to overcompensate my calorie loss after a long run!)

Basically everything is ok except my "mom" belly. Arms ok, legs ok, but cold be a little higher, boobs ...well after breastfeeding 3x their gonners! :)
My goal is to have a flat belly and then I'll buy the push up bra for the boob!

WOW! Okay! I think I'll be able to go everybody added up later today (right now I just wanted to check in, but was pleasantly surprised to see so many newcomers!). I want to divy out numbers to everybody based on goals and whatnot, that way later on, I can say "All the 1's: get together and share motivational stories," and basic small-group stuff like that. I also this it'd be fun for a 1, a 2, a 3, etc to get together every so often to talk about techniques and whatnot. I will try to get everybody together and put into the members profile later this afternoon (possibly not for another 8 hours, oh golly!) because I have classes and work I'm supposed to be doing (shhh, don't tell them I'm on here! tehehe).
I know this is going to be a really great group! If you guys have any more ideas, please let me know. Energygirl and Annarapp have had some good ones so far! I'll start putting those with the challenges and we can vote on them maybe? See which ones to do first? Okay, I'll check in and update everything later. Good luck ladies! ;)
