why am i not losing weight????
i am on a diet...and instead of losing weight...i gained...why?i
exercise probably 5 days a week from a 1 hour workout to a 2 hour work
out...i eat about 1400-2200...and nothing really happened too much..i
lost 12 pounds altogether however, the past couple of days i noticed an
increase.i weight 200lbs when i started and then i weighed 187lbs and
now i weigh 210lbs....which is very confusing..if you are noticing me
doing something wrong please give me some tips to solve my
problem...thanks
gelsomine
and yes i do vigorous exercises...like cardio, pilates,or walking.....and i started my diet around january
I would suggest decreasing your exercise. 1400-2200 calories a day is a pretty wide range- do you eat more that day when you have more vigorous exercise?
Try a more "level" calorie intake (1500-1600) and start exercising 3-4 days a week but not as hard.

i guess that make sence....exercing does increase muscle...
Honestly, I am confused by your post. It sounds like you started out weighing 200 lbs in January and dropped to 187 by a few days ago (This is great BTW!). But then you suddenly shot up to 210 in just a few days??? Personally, I think your scale is broken. I do not believe there is any possible way to gain 23 pounds in a few days (absent some really bizarre and potentially serious medical condition). Your calorie intake is, if anything, on the low side for your weight and amount of exercise.
I'll have to ditto what Rwnorth said... in order to gain 10 pounds alone, you would have to eat 35,000 calories ONTOP of whatever you're burning.
To gain 23 pounds in only a few days is near impossible (unless you happened to eat numerous sticks of lard, oil, butter and whole cakes at every meal)
What are your stats? (Height, gender). It sounds like you might need more calories for your activity level.
i have being having a similar problem
but i believe it is due to muscle gain the first week i worked out i lose4 pounds
the next week i gained, eince i have been afraid to weight myself, and lately my left leg is very sore it hurts when i walk as well as streching could i have som advice plz
I had pain in my leg and wrote it off as I was doing too much- eventually I couldn't put any weight on it and wound up with a blood clot the length of my leg- be careful with pain.

I agree, your scale may be broken. How do your clothes fit? If you've really gained weight, your clothes will fit more snug. Also, be sure to accurately keep track of your calories. Since you're exercising so much, you may be eating more than you realize.
