I try to eat 500-800 calories less than I burn every day, so on active days, I may eat 2000 calories.

I am 5'9, female, started on 5/5/06 at 210lbs.

I really wasn't sure how much my average calorie intake was so I went to my calorie log and added the past 30 days and divide that number by 30. I am eating 1700 a day on average !!! That surprised me. I eat 1300-1500 a day during the week but if we go out to eat or there is a graduation party, birthday party, etc. I have more like 2000-2200 calories.
I have lost 23 pounds so far :-)
I try to do something everyday for 45 minutes to an hour (walk, swim, elliptical, roller blade, yard work, etc.)

4 weeks at 1200, then hit plateau
upped to 1400-1500 and started losing weight again.
Lost 13 pounds since July 6th.
Edit: Update, As of August 20th I have lost 16.5 pounds....still eating between 1200 and 1500 depending on the day. Every so often 1700.
Edit: Update, as of November 10, 2006 I have lost 26 pounds. I eat anywhere from 1500-1700 on a regular day. I have not been tracking calories online like I used to. Probably should go back to it. I do kickboxing 2x/wk and try to stay on my feet after my desk job at work.

Okay, are you using the guide that they give you on this website to determine how many calories you should take in? I just started and it says to lose 65 pounds at my weight, age, height, and inactivity I should only consume 1050. Am I doing it right? I would like more info on eating more to lose, where do I go? Right now I am just going for getting an "A" on my daily analysis?

1500-1600 lost 29lb, about 1.5lb average a week.
1300-1600, the 1600 being they days when I am going to work out.. So far 6lbs that I know of for sure but I didnt weight myself until after the 3rd week so I guess @ 7lbs in 6 weeks..

Started April at around 1300 in, and lost about 10 lbs. Plateaued for 6 weeks, lost a couple more and have now increased my cals to 1400-1800 per day depending on my excercise. I am aiming for the 500-800 less then expenditure and see how I go....

1,500 to 1,800 dificit is always 500-800 no matter what i eat as i will exercise to get it up to that if i fall to make 500.

i work out 6-7 days a week though for a hour and have a active job. Im happy with slow weight loss, even if its a pound a month. Inches are what keeps me going!!! got 3 to go till im at my goal inch loss!

I'm female and 23. I eat an average of 1550 calories, but on days when I exercise (for example in circuit training) I'll eat more calories equalling the amount of calories the exercise has lost me, if that makes sense. So if I burn 650 cals in circuit training, I might eat up to 2100 calories that day.
I've lost (according to trend line) about 14 lbs since June 10.
