  2. Have been losing weight
I'd like to know the average number of calories you eat a day and how much weight you have lost. Thank you!

And since I'm starting this, I'll go first:

Average calories/day: 1700
Weight lost so far: 24 pounds (as of August 9)
&nb sp;               &nb sp;     30 pounds (as of August 25)
&nb sp;               &nb sp;     42 pounds (as of October 18)

HELP! I don't know what to do. For the past 8 weeks I've been eating healthy, between 1550 and 1650 calories a day. Go to gym 4 times a week, 40 minutes cardio and 20 minutes light weights. I've picked up 2.2 kg. Not lost a single thing! I've now started taking a metabolic booster 3 weeks ago and still nothing. I don't know what to do. Maybe I should go and see a dr., but I'm becoming so despondent, when I see a packet of chips I think - I'm picking up weight anyway, I might as well just eat the chips. I don't want to go back there, but it's really starting to get me down. If there is anyone here that can help me and give me some support I would really appreciate it. xxx Ant
32 yr old female  5'8

Try to eat 1300-1500 daily, work out 3 times a week, doing cardio and weight training, also walk in a hilly neighborhood 2 miles, 5 days a week.
Female 43 and I eat 1250 on non workout days and 1500 on workout days.  I have lost 28.6 pounds since 1/13/07.

I used to eat about 900 and was stuck at the same weight for over a year until discovering C-C.  It has paid bigtime to up the calories.

Average 1,200 to 1,300 daily since Feb 8, 2007 ( Contest @ work) loss 28 lbs so far. I walked daily ( 30 to 45 min) and faithfully logged any thing I put in my mouth on my journal. 54 lbs to go.
Eat about 1700 a day during the week and 1200-1400 on weekends. Keep around 1000 cal deficit.  Lost 8lbs in 3 weeks.
Female, pushing 40!, average 2350 cal/day - often up to 3000 p/day on Fri/Sat/Sun and apparently losing weight, slowly, anyway.  I walk nearly 4 km outdoors with the dog and try to run 8 km on the treadmill, on weekdays.  8 lbs in 5 months?  That's really slowly compared to everyone else but I hate being hungry.
Bumping this up for those who need to learn that you have to eat enough to lose and keep it off!

My goal for last year was 50 pounds. I lost it and have kept it off. I'm trying to lose a bit more now, so am eating between 1600-1700 calories/day. A growing teen will likely need more calories than my sedentary ancient self, so those of you who are young, please take that into consideration. (The tools here are for adults, not those still growing up; please take that into consideration, too.)

I've been shooting for around 1500 cal/day but I don't know that I'll sustain that for too long.  I imagine I'll settle more in the 1800 area eventually.

My doc says I should probably eat between 2000-2500, but I'd like to lose a bit more to get my fbg levels a bit more reasonable.  Lost about 4 pounds so far - goal is about 70.

I'm a guy.  32 years old.
average cals = 1400/day

Average cals per day:  1750.

Weight lost:  16 pounds since July 12 (as of last Friday's weigh-in), so about 16 pounds in 6 weeks.
