losing weight for a vacation

Quote  |  Reply

I realize that it is only 23 days away, but i want to shed only about 3-4 pounds before the cruise i go on. i workout for 2 hours a day doing weights and cardio. I have been doing this for years. my issue is over-eating. it's rarely fattening, calorie-dense food...i just like to snack a lot! any suggestions for quick weight loss...even if it's just temporary?

I would try and find out why you are over-eating.  Are you eating enough?  Getting the proper amount of nutrients? (fats, carbs, proteins)  When I'm not eating enough fats I tend to binge on anything slatthered with butter and sugar.  Make sure you are eating enough for your activity level and getting a good amount of sleep and the lbs will slip off once over-eating takes a hike. If your working out for 2 hours and are overeating you are probably not eating enough.  3-4 lbs is not much at all and definitely do-able in 23 days if you treat yourself good.

I am pretty sure that the over-eating is strictly out of boredom. I guess I have an oral fixation or something because I just like to be eating! LIke yesterday, for example, I snacked on 3 cups of cottage cheese, yogurt, and a ton of rice cakes. Pretty healthy choices, but I didn't need to eat nearly as much as I did! It's mindless eating at it's worst! I do, of course, sometimes eat the crap such as pizza or chips, but that's a once a week thing. I am extremely dedicated to my workouts and rarely miss a day. If only I could be as dedicated to keeping my calories down as I am to working out!

I know the feeling! When I'm not getting enough fat I end up eating cheese... and lots of it. It totally sabotages me for a week!

Have you logged all of your stats on cc to determine your daily burn? Do you log the calories you eat and drink? 2 hours of exercise a day is quite a bit.... maybe your body has gotten too used to your routine. You might jazz it up a bit by taking a spin class 2-3x a week or lift heavier weights 2-3x a week. I find it important to change my physical activity every 6-8 weeks so my body doesn't get in a rut. Right now I am hiking and doing yoga. Next will be weights and spin.... Good luck and have fun on your trip!
