10lbs in 6 weeks is fine youd be upset if you were losing less. They say you should aim for 2lbs per week, though youll often lose more at the begining and it gets hardly the closer you become to your goal. Congratulations on your success and good luck
Well, you aren't losing weight faster than 2lb/week (if my math is right - it's been almost 8 weeks?)
However, you are either undercounting or undereating. You should never be eating below 1200, much less averaging less than 1200. If you are undercounting, then you need to start measuring and weighing your food, and include anything you eat, even if it's just a bite.
However, if you are being very faithful with your counting, then you need to start eating more.
That's actually about what I would expect. It's about 1.25 pounds per week. I think you should probably up your calorie intake to around 1300/day like you were doing in February, but you're definitely not losing too much weight too fast. That is if you're eating a healthy and balanced diet.
No exercise at all...not even long walks?
cleaning my house is about it, sometimes i jump rope

actually, "they" say 1% per week to a maximum of 2 pounds. 2lbs/week is for people 200+.
militarywife, it's been fast, but not dangerously so. the only thing i would be concerned about is that your calorie intake is so low, you may have difficulty maintaining once you get to your goal.
for me (and i think for most women), it's much easier (not to mention healthier) to be a little more active and eat in the 1500-1700 range. it doesn't take a lot of activity to give yourself that extra freedom.
Out of curiosity, what typically happens if you lose weight too fast?

Your body goes into starvation mode and anything you eat will stick on your body as fat so you don't die. Then your weight loss that you have done up to that point goes out the window. That is why women should never eat less than 1200 calories a day and men should never eat less than 1500 calories a day. and the more you end up working out you need to compensate and eat a little more during the day.
um, no. starvation mode is the result of prolonged undernourishment, not of weight loss.
the only real problem with losing weight too fast (assuming that you stop before you reach an unhealthy weight) is that you've probably made drastic, unsustainable changes, so you're more likely to go back to your old habits and gain the weight back.
in making more moderate changes and losing weight slowly, you allow yourself the time to learn new habits, so that when it's time to maintain, you know what you need to do.
