Hello all.
I am really enjoying this website and reading the forums.
I joined 10 days ago and started by keeping my calorie intake to 2600 and my burn rate to 3900 per day. Just like the math predicts: I lost 4 pounds.
My goal is to get to 205 lbs (or lose my 2nd chin, whichever comes first) and then raise my intake to the point where I can maintain my weight. I weighed 205 when I was 21 yrs old, so I have that in my mind as my "healthy" weight.
12 lbs to go!
Cheers,
good to know
and best of luck
just 12 lbs... hope u wont be leaving the site after that
Congratulations on the weight loss! I am sure it feels great. Just be aware we generally do not encourage a quicker weight loss greater than 1% of your weight per week usually about 1-2 lbs. This healthy rate of loss ensures a better chance of keeping it off when you achieve your goals.
Well done on the loss and keep us posted.
Thanks for the replies...and the concern.
I have been keeping an eye on not getting too aggressive. But at a starting weight of 226 lbs, a 1% loss per week would allow for about 3.25 lbs loss in 10 days. I'm just a touch over that so I am not too worried. 2600 calories per day is hardly starving myself.
Will keep in touch. Thanks again.
Oops, that's 17 pounds to go.

its slow but working!
Update:
18 days down, 7 pounds lost. No change in the program: eat 2600 calories, and burn 3500-3900 per day. I have had two days so far where I have eaten 3500 calories.
15 pounds to go!
Great job!! Looks like you're keeping your metabolism and losing the smart way! *thumbs up*
10 pounds lost in 31 days!
I continue to take in 2500 calories per day. My burn rate has been lessened due to my weight loss. I am maintaining a deficit of about 800 calories per day, vs the 1000 per day when I started. When the weather cools down a bit I will increase my exercise.
