how I lost 9 pound in 6 days

Quote  |  Reply
No excersize, on average 1550 calories. my mom found this detox thing in a magazine and my mom tried it, it says you can lose up to 18 pounds in 11 days, and you are consuming enough calories. The first time she did it she weighed herself at the 7 day mark and had lost 11 pounds. This time around I decided to do it with her and I have lost 9 pound in just 6 days!

Breakfast: chose one daily
Option #1: fast track smoothie.
Option #2: 2 eggs, 2 cups steamed spinach, juice of 1/2 lemon, 1 cup berries, and 1 tbsp ground flaxseed.

Lunch: Chose one daily
Option #1: 4oz. salmon or turkey breast, 2 cups of lettuce with 1/4 cup of each onion, radish, cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, olives, and 1 tbsp each of olive oil and vinegar.
Option #2: 4oz. lean burger, 1 cup sateed veggies, 2 cups lettuce with cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, oilves and 1 tbsp each of olive oil and vinegar.

Dinner: Chose one daily
Option #1: 4oz. chicken breast with sauteed onions, garlic, lemon and parsley to taste, 1/2 cauliflower, and 4 artichoke hearts.
Option #2: 4oz. lean beef with 2 tsp spice rub, 1 small baked potato, 1/2 cup of steamed broccoli, 1/2 cup steamed asparagus, adn 1 tsp. each olive oil and lemon juice.

Snacks: chose two daily:
Option #1: 2 hard-boiled eggs, and 1 cup fresh cut veggies
Option #2: 1 orange, pear or apple
Option #3: 2 stalks of celery, and 1 small raw carrot
Option #4: fast track smootie

Fast track smoothie recipe:
In a blender whip 1 cup water, 1 cup frozen berries, 1 scoop of vanilla whey powder, 1 tbsp flaxseed oil, 1 tbsp ground flaxseed, 2 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp unsweetened cranberry juice, 1 packet of stevia (natural sweetener) and 8 ice cubes.

Jump start juice day:
after using the menu for one week, it's time for a 24 hour "juice fast" to accelerate fat burning and the detox process. Bring 8 oz unsweetened cranberry juice and 7 cups of filtered water to a ligth boil; reduce heat. Add 1/2 tsp ground cinnimon, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp ground ginger. Simmer 15-20 minutes. Strain througha coffee filter. Cool to room temperature. Stir in 3/4 cup orange juice and 1/4 lemon juice, preferably fresh. Add stevia to taste if desired. sip one cup of fluids per hour alternating 1 cup of water and cup jumpstart juice. Aim for 9 cups water total.

Day 1-7 use menus
Day 8 jumpstart juice day
Day 9-11 use menus and also adding in 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt daily.
Daily water divide your body weight in half and drink that many oz. each day.

This works I swear! and it keeps me satisfied all day. Try it and let me know if it works for you!

im suspicious of this. how did you burn 31,500 calories in 6 days?
I have absolutely no idea how this works, but it does. makes me question the whole calorie thing.  the only excersize I did was one night I went for a 20 minute run plus walking for another half an hour afetrwards. but thats all.

could it be water weight that you lost? it surely cant be fat.

If it works, then why did your mom have to do it a second time?

I suspect it's like all those other detox diets: you might lose water weight like mad the first week, but check back in two weeks after you're done with the diet and see if it stays off. I'd bet you a pot of cabbage soup that it won't. :)

hey thanks so much for sharing...

Im totally going to try it. seems easy enough and whats 11 days of your life...before you know it 11 days is gone you know?

ill post my results when Im done. Probably start tuesday...gotta go grocery shopping tomorrow.

And to phimegaphi...i suspect, as well as you, that its a very quick fix...for like a wedding or something special. Im going to try to use it to jump start a plateu ive been stuck on since oct and see if I can t get stuff moving...and then continue to eat well...which I am 93% of the time pretty good at.

what works for you?

i'm wondering this also.

because she did it about 6 months ago and its not all for weight loss its for detoxing too, plus she has more than a couple pounds to lose.

she gained a few back but thats only because she started eating crap again, Im pretty positive it will stay off as long as you conintue to eat sensibly because its not like you're restricting calories. I for one watch what I eat all the time.

Some times I just hate this site. because anything you say you get negative comments back of other peoples opinions....feel free to believe what you want, just dont burst my bubble thanks. All I know is Im eating healthy and its coming off...if it comes back on its not like I have anything to lose I just completed 11 days of eating healthy.

a lot of you only concentate on losing weight, and calories not nuitrition.
the human body detoxes itself, provided that you get enough water.

you get negative feedback when you promote unrealistic expectations, in yourself or in others.  nine pounds in six days is the kind of weightloss you might expect in someone who is critically ill.
its completely unrealistic to think you can lose 9 pounds of fat in 6 days.
first off im pretty sure she wasnt expecting anyone to do anything. she was simply sharing something really interesting, and something that others might find interest in. stop your negativity. i dont understand why people post just to say how wrong that person is on there forum. anyways, cool post. i personally think this is a good way to get off a plateau and start loosing again.
i just dont like people feeding me/believing in lies.

People start new posts to get advice and feedback from other people. People respond to new posts to give the advice and feedback that was requested. Just because the people who respond do not agree with the original poster does not mean there is any 'negativity.'

It might just mean that the people giving the feedback have seen this sort of post/idea before and are trying to inform the original poster of some things to look out for.

Many people do, in fact, get duped by quick fix schemes. And many of these people do see reults quickly, and then gain it all back quickly. I hardly think that pointing out the truth is being negative in any way.

Perhaps all of those who have used a diet like this and NOT gained weight afterwards should speak up and encourage the original poster that this is a fine way to lose weight.

But perhaps it should also be counted as evidence that this sort of diet doesn't work long term if there isn't anyone who will speak up in defense of this diet.

I'm not being negative here, just trying to point out what might be going on.

You lost 9 pounds in 6 days, that is neat, water weight or fat weight or whatever, but did you lose any inches?

thanks!!

i always thought that losing any weight in general will make you lose inches.

Wow, 9 pounds in 6 days. That's awesome. I think that I have read this article about detox or something like it. I've never tried it though. I do think some of it may be water weight, but some of it is probably all that crap that's built up in our system also. Part of detoxing is trying to help get rid of some of that stuff that is built up to make our body run more efficiently. Give our liver a chance to catch up, so forth. No doctor, just saying what I've read about detox so please don't bit my head off.

About the post for the detox, she's not saying that everyone should run out and doing, she's just saying something that she was told and what has worked for herself and her mother to help cleanse their bodies of all that extra junk. Maybe some of it is water and not all fat, but detoxing is something that is supposed to help cleanse out our body.

Its possible to lose 9lbs the first week I do believe I lost 10. I did it healthy and it was mostly water weight the first week it always is. Kind of shocked people are suprised by losing this much weight in the first week most ppl do that have a lot to lose. Now for your diet why dont you just follow this site and count your calories that you need in a day? They have great tools on here to figure it all out and its easy................ Its taken me over a yrs time to lose 50lbs do you really think you are going to lose 10lbs a week for the course of your 'diet'? Its just unrealistic and unhealthy.

Are people not considering what the people are eating before this or how much they weigh?

If someone who has been eating fast food and weighs A LOT over their ideal weight - of course they will see a dramtic weight loss, because you're not eating so much rubbish ad eating well! People are so synical on this forum! 10 lbs is 10 lbs and people should be praising anyone who loses that much weight, no matter how long it took. Even if some of the weight does go back on, it's still going to make an improvement in their health is it not?

i'd be super interested in knowing how many inches you lost and if it's stayed off....

my only problem would be bringing my lunch to work. I live in germany, and NO ONE brings their lunch to work at my office. like, ever.

You know.. this diet sounds reasonable.. until you get to the juice fast. I just... I can't agree with that. A juice fast isn't going to force you to specifically burn more fat. A juice fast will lower your metabolism (short-term, not long-term damage), burn fat AND muscle, and you'll lose the nutrients your body needs, day by day.

Skip the Juice Fast and stick with the menu itself.. it sounds a bit controlled for my taste, but not unreasonable.
