hi i am so proud i have lost 32 pounds using the "joy bauer 90/10 weight loss plan" book i call it my diet bible book i was a size 36 weist and now im down to a size 29 jeans i started on january 1, 2007 and the best part is i can pretty much eat anything.

my ? is as a guy i should have been on the 1600 calorie diet menu, but since she said i could also be in the 1400 calorie menu if i am small and i am 5,6 i started out at 160 pounds and now i am at 128 pounds i am one of those guys that is thin in body structure and i still have that little belly bulge under my belly button and when i stand up straight i have a nice swimmers build, but when i bend over i can tell i still need to lose several pounds so my abs look tight.

i was eating the 1400 calorie plan, but as i lost more weight now my body feels like it wants more food and last night i went to bed hungry and woke up in starvation mode and got me a fiber bar till it was time for my breakfest meal, and today i started the 1600 calorie plan menu diet, basicaly i eat 1600 calories of good food, like turkey, fiber cereal, whole weat breads, chicken etc and not pizza, burger king stuff i usually take a saturday or a sunday to eat what i want for being good during the week.

but i am scared of putting weight back on if i go on the 1600 calore plan even if it says i will lose weight (i think its just my head freaking out) , can any one help with some info on my calorie intake to see if it's ok, i think with so much excersise i am under eating maybe thats why im starting to get more hungry because my body does not have those 30 pounds of fat anymore to feed off of , should i move to the 1600 plan menu (more food) ?

im 5 foot 6 (small frame)

i was 160 pounds, now im 128 pounds :)

i run 6 days a week burning around 450 to 500 calories (monday till saturday), i do light weights 2 times a week under 40 minutes work out dont know how much i burn from that (john basedow dvd) (monday and friday) and do ab work out 3 times a week (john basedow dvd)

during the loss of my 30 pounds i was eating around 1400 calories, now that im 128 i feel more hungry, do i move to the 1600 calories a day. HELP ME GUYS!

Your expenditure is still higher than 1600 cal/day.  If you switch to 1600, you will still have a defecit, and still lose weight.
5'6'' and 128lbs.  That is very tiny, are you sure you shouldn't just try to maintain that weight.  Men are not supposed to take in less than 1500 calories.  You should be taking in even more though because you very very athletic.

thanks for your imput, i have reorganized my calorie intake and informed my self a little more on calorie intake and body size from calorie-count.com, i just could not understand it before but now i got the hang of it, thank you.

hello, yes im a tiny guy (not anorexic) i dont go for that stuff, since placing this post and reading starffy's reply i re-started reading my (joy bauer book) and i think i had fallen of track a little by starting out at 1600 cal a day but every month i started going down on the calories thinking it would be better 1500, 1400, 1350 (the book had told me to be carefull not to do that), but i got greedy loosing the weight, so after a couple of weeks being on the 1350 - 1400 calorie a day meals i woke up one day very very hungry and so i read the book again and got back on track to were the book told me to stay at (1600 calories) i am now doing and going to stay on 1600 calories and that did the trick i am not hungry any more and im having more food when i eat but tracking the 1600 daily calories and that has made me go to bed happy and wake up happy and not starving, i also stoped doing light weights on wednesday and now just do light weights 2 times a week and not the 3, i think i was over doing it with the light weight excersize's, and you are correct i should have not been under 1500 cal but i have corrected that, now when it's my next meal i feel time is flying
According to the calorie counting diets you need to eat...

1500 + all the calories you burn through exercise.

So for a long time you've been on an anorexic/starvation diet and didn't realize it... and your metabolism has dropped and I hate to scare you but if you continue on this path when you do start to increase your food you will end up gaining some weight.

I don't have any specific advice on how to get back to NORMAL but there are people in the support forum that probably know... and it may be time to see a doctor and have your health checked.

Hey but i don't mean to scare you... it's just you lost the weight in a pretty unhealthy kind of way.   Also that layer around your stomach may be skin from dropping the weight too fast.


But anyway your calorie intake for the day should currently be:

1500 + your exercise calories burned

If you burned, say 500 running nad then another 250 on those other exercises in a day... then you'd need 2250 for that day since the energy for working out needs to come from the food you eat.
