I lost 4 lbs - first week of Atkins
It's looking positive, I lost 4 lbs in the first week of my Atkins diet, I was surprise to feel pretty good despite not having the heavy load of carbs. I was able to run 3 miles on both Saturday and Sunday, so I know I'm on ketosis now because I'm very limited to max of 20 net carbs per day, sometimes even less. I would have been happy with 2 lbs, but the additional 2 lbs is such a treat.
I am looking forward to another 2 lbs this week. I am no longer worried about running my 5K (3.1 miles) race on turkey day, I know that I can sustain it without carbo loading like I used to. I am also not afraid of the foods we're having on thanksgiving day, I know I'll be happy to eat all the meat and some veggies, and just skip the carbs.
Week 2 Atkins, here I come :)
I'm so glad you wrote about the four pounds. I also show a four pound loss. I wasn't feeling too good about things because my strips show only trace ketones. I did read that the color may depend on things like how much water I've had, and I take one of the medications that the site says may slow down or eliminate ketosis. I thought people lost really big numbers doing this; so, until I read your post, I was discouraged. Thanks,
Dummie
How are you doing with your Atkins diet? I have been good avoiding carbs during these holiday season but there are just some foods I can't avoid with some carbs in it. I love ham and obviously ham has some carbs because of the honey glazed poured over it.
I haven't loss any weight this December, I've been flactuating with 2 lbs here and there since the holiday season and I know its because of eating a little bit more than usual...not carb wise but calorie wise. I know I've been eating more than 1800 calories per day.
I am ready to get back into my routine after these holidays and I am looking forward to it.
Let me know how you're doing.
Happy New Year!!!
