Lost 100lbs =)
In the past 2 years I have made diet and exercise a part of my everyday life.... and it's finally paid off!
At 5'7 and 150lbs, I can say for the first time in my life that I am of a healthy weight.
Weightloss is slow... but if you do it the right way, it's permanent.
Good luck everyone!
WOW! First let me just say congratulations on your accomplishment! That is huge! I started in February and so far have lost almost 40 lbs. with another 30-40 to go. Lately the weight loss has come to almost a complete stop, I'm not sure what I can do to get it going. I'm sure during your journey you encountered a few plateaus? What did you do to get past them, and how did you not give up all hope in reaching your goal weight?
Wow that is amazing Congratulations!!!!
Congrats!! Just checked your gallery. You look awesome!! Great inspiration. I just needed a real story like yours. This is a long journey and I know it; however, too many ads are out there giving a false hope of a quick fix.
harmonpl- Congrats on the 40lbs!!! It feels like yesterday I was saying the same thing! I know all about the plateaus.... trust me, you can and will conquer them. My best advice is to not weigh for a week or two... switch up your intake and do different exercises. I stuck with a pretty standard diet, always eating the same things... when I got to a stopping point in the loss, I would eat less starchy foods and more veggies and fruits... play around with the calories, too... try a 1500 cal day, then a 1300, then a 1600- my logic was that my body expected a certain amount and tried to level off and not lose anymore weight, so I'd eat more and exercise more. Just keep up the good work, it will pay off in the end!!
thanks hotharmony! angie- I know what you mean, I tried so many quick fixes I could be their poster child. However, not only did I get moody and make irrational goals, but I didn't feel healthy. Exercise made me feel GREAT and full of energy, rather than feeling tired and depressed from not eating enough. Plus, if I ate within my calorie range and exercised each day, it was one small goal accomplished every day =) sometimes I would think to myself, "ugh, another 50-60lbs to go" and it was hard to stay on track... but after spending 2 years of working towards losing weight and getting healthy, I now know that each day was definitely worth the struggle! It does get easier... some say that the last 10-15lbs are the hardest, but I think they're the easiest! Sure, it took me almost 4 months to lose those pounds, but I already knew how to do it and didn't have crazy expectations.
Take each day as it comes and remember, tomorrow is a new day!
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks =)
That is wonderful! You are an inspiration!
What an insipiration you are!!! I'm halfway there....I've lost 51lbs and still have 41 or so to go, so if you can do it I KNOW I CAN!!! Thank you!!!
